cheltenham, presyatyn .... the world

just got back from the green belt festival. was a mellow one with a bit of a nervy time doing tv. to be honest i hate it and say things that wouldn't be out of step for alan partridge to say!!!
on way back stayed in prestatyn with some friends and saw a bloke do some songs. was good to hear that small room music after big shows. played on his guitar for my friend. was nice of him to lend me it for a song.

p.s heard the best thing in the cab to the pub. the taxi drivers radio was asking another taxi what traffic he was stuck in. our driver said ... there he is in front of us.... behind three cars!!!!! haha total gridlock in prestatyn!!!

whats it all about?

why am i always staying up watching films i've already seen on tv?
also in a dream the other night i could tell the person was pushing me through a door and i managed to move myself away. i'm going to try and do it again in a dream.
also has anyone ever read seneca?
he is really interesting philosopher.
other than that have been playing bob the builder on the guitar A LOT!!
not for my own pleasure of course.

so many people have written back about the american dates! i'm chuffed. i have someone coming round today to ask advice on the music world! fuck i know nathing! haha also am feeliong strange coz i have no band anymore. all gone into full time work. i guess people are growing up around me and getting serious. it feels sad. kath

my first USA shows
so, i'm going over to america to do my first couple of shows over there- very excited about it. cheap lullaby (myspace.com/cheaplullabyrecords or cheaplullaby.com) are releasing Leave To Remain in the states on august 28th and i'll be playing solo shows at the living room in new york and the hotel cafe in los angeles.
too much flying, and a week or so without my baby boy- but aside from that (and the nerves about the shows themselves!) i'm looking forward to it!!
i'm so pleased to be working with the label- they seem great. feels really good to be getting some of my stuff out in the US at last.
anyhow... things in the uk are feeling pretty good for me at the moment as well- i've been recording an album with neill maccoll, which i have really loved doing- i haven't had so much fun in the studio for ages. neill is an amazing player and we just seem to click together when writing- really excited about this record. i've got a few live dates going on in the uk in autumn as well- then we'll maybe be heading back over to sweden... i'll keep you posted.
off to bed now.

god i'm nervous!

i'm doing some shows next week, and one of them ...in london is completley accoustic! no amplification whatso ever!!!
isn't that mad!!?? i'm quiet enough as it is!
but hey ho. it's part of a thing called naked nights at the tricycle thatre in kilburn.

anyway if you fancy coming its should sell out quick.

be good tanyas

i'm at home for a day off in the middle of the be good tanyas tour. such a great tour to be on- their set is really good, and they're great people to be on tour with- a pleasure to be opening for them. inspiring and kind people.
these shows are the first ones i've done solo since about 1998! so i was pretty scared about standing on those big stages on my own- albert hall and usher hall are huge spaces to be in, but i've loved it. it's brought back some of the adreneline of playing those first few times.

frist night nerves
Current mood:  contemplative
so it was the first night of the tour, and we started in chester. if you've never been telfords warehouse is a great little venue next to a canal. the people are rreally great and seem to care about music.
anyway it was going sort of well till i got tangled up in the guitar leads and nearly went and knocked the mic off stage. got a round of applause that was a bit too loud for my liking for that!!! hahah
all went well and people have been coming and saying they liked it! pheww! got away with that one.
anyway one down, a lot ot go.
at the moment we ar on a day off in leicester and louis is asleep in his travel cot next to my bed as i am typing!! oh the rock and roll life style.
he is such a dude!! has been takoing the travel in his stride as well as trying new things everyday...well he is only 7 months old...so i suppose lots of things are new

video and things
Current mood:  scared
so i'm getting ready to tour, which is scaring the **** out of me on a daily basis- not so much the actual performing anymore, but thinking "how on earth is that going to work with a 7 month old baby?" still, it's happening, so it'll work somehow!!?
anyway, i just wanted to tell you that i've got a download single coming out on september 18th and that i've posted a video for it on myspace. me and neil made it in the garden and around the house- i hope you like it.
