Where did THIS Come from...?
Current mood: impish
Category: impish Life
City girl here. Only been to the (proper) countryside twice, as far as I remember. Once I locked my lil brother in a sty with a cow and her newborn calf. The cow was chained to one side of it and the calf was in an enclosure behind its mum, next to the door to the sty. Let's just say that cow couldn't see what was making such an almighty noise and she nearly tore the sty down. The more she yanked her chain, the more my lil brother screamed, banging on the door to be let out. Add to that a scared calf's miaowing. (OK, it was a strange noise!) I was laughing so hard, I couldn't stand on my own two feet! Too weak to open the door. Which didn't pass unnoticed. Ooooops! My only excuse that I was only 8 years old! Boy, did I get a good wallopping! That memory is still sweet though, he he... Shame on me! :)

World Today
Current mood: worried
Category: News and Politics
I am yet to recover from the senseless murder of Benazir Bhutto and now all this horrible violence in Kenya is all over the news...
When will all this suffering end?
Why do I feel personally affected? What's wrong with me..?
I don't get it. I just feel what I feel - crushed and weak.

What Happened Next
Current mood: crazy
Category: Romance and Relationships
It was a day like any other. But not quite... Was it madness that drove me to board a train on the way home or sheer necessity? Most occupiers of the seats had no tickets to show for the ride. I wish I could call them old bags, but they were mostly new, freshly purchased bags, with fancy names, like Monsoon, Tate, Fortnum & Mason, Prada and such. So, I decide to brave it and ask this no-name bag full of artist materials to give way to me, so I can sit my tired *cough* derriere on the thread-bare, seen-better-derrieres-cough-I-mean-*DAYS* seat. And the bag moves and I sit, relax, fish out my M&S Pomegranate and Cranberry juice and start sucking the straw to refreshment. With my hands thus occupied, my eyes were free to roam and scan my fellow passangers. There is a couple and the artist materials bag squashed together opposite me. At first I figured she must be his mother, but then they kiss in a way which tells me otherwise. Maybe it was her unfortunate face-type - you know, the type that says "old" without meaning to. After all, she had no visible lines on her face or saggy excess skin or anything that could count against her, apart from slightly greesy, strange shade of ginger kinda hair. Anyway, none of my business, I was just aimlessly looking around, deciding whether I should fancy her boyfriend or not. Decided not to. But then, he said something to her. He said: "I want you to do me a favour. I want you to do me a favour right now, without asking any questions." DAAAAYMN, now my ears pricked up and I was a rapt audience, despite looking like I was in a world of my own - the world where I was a destroyer of worlds, sucking the life out of that container of juice which never really stood a chance. OK, OK, what favour? Aaaaaaaaaaaarrrrgggh, the train was pulling into a station and I almost missed what he was about to say. He said: "It is very important that you do me this favour. I want you to remember today. Just remember it. You will find out on Sunday morning why." His GF was none too happy. She did ask questions. Why tell her now, why not wait until the blooming Sunday, should she worry...? Sweet Cheeses, that was my stop, I had to get out and all I wanted to blurt out was - "TELL ME, tell me NOW!!! Cause I won't be able to sleep!!!" I got off, giving the artist material bag an "accidental" kick and a scowl not meant for anyone in particular, but inside, murderous thought occupied me for the next several minutes. Don't you just HATE NOT KNOWING what happens NEXT?????
So, tell me, my sweetie-pies. What happens tomorrow???

Amy Winehouse: Shows UP
Current mood: contemplative
Category: Music
..
It was a strange night in Brighton last night. The Brighton Centre was packed. Lots of jostling, manouvering for a "good spot", the crowd already discussing "will she", "won't she" turn up at all. What's taking her so long? It's already been an hour? What is she doing backstage? Is her stash really safe in that beehive of hers? If she turns up, will she forget words and stumble and leave? Sweet Cheeses - I felt like I was about to watch the entertainment Victorian style - a good old hanging at the very least!
Support was good. Bryn Christopher (I swear he sounds like Anastacia!) and Remi Nicole (surprise, surprise - good set!) were really very good. :)
During Amy's performance I discovered the power of my STARE. I made 3 people who misbehaved around me LEAVE, no doubt because I scared them with the daggers in my eyes. Hahaha! Me - scarey - I like it! *giggle* Well, the two young girls were too juvenile and shoved me 3 times too many, so I turned around - the second time I started to turn around, they packed up and left. And the big guy behind me - well, whether someone pushed him towards me or not - he was too close and I didn't like it. I commented on his "overfriendly approach" to a total stranger next to me loud enough for him to hear it. He left straight away. Yay!
Well, we waited 75 minutes for Amy to turn up. Luckily for us, Lisa and I were entertained during that time by a bunch of wonderful guys, who made the waiting more bearable with their dancing and antics.
Amy... What can I say - you've heard it all by now. You've seen how she's gone from size 14 to size 4. Something is rotten in the state of Denmark, we all can see as much. Luckily for us, though, her voice remains simply amazing.
I could just about see the top of her beehive from where I was standing and occassional flashes of her pink bow and glimpses of her black and white polka dot dress. Perhaps just as well, so I could concentrate on her pure gold vocals. And she sang flawlessly. OK - she had to stop twice, right at the beginning of 2 songs, for whatever reason - I couldn't see. But mostly, she sang effortlessly in her fab unimitable style. There is no-one like her. What a talent!
I booked our tickets way back in August, before the start of her tour and all the negativity surrounding it - reports of non-shows, booing and such. I really hope she can sort herself out, cause I would feel guilty going to see her again, knowing she is not well. If she sang so brilliantly at her worst - I can only imagine how good she is when all is well!
As it was, every move she made was scrutinised - the audience was in a hush inbetween the songs, almost expecting things to go wrong. If she took a sip of her drink (whatever it was), it was commented on. The breaks were a freak show. I just didn't want her to stop singing. And every singer will tell you how important is to keep hydrated, in any case!!!
Back in Black got the biggest ovation while I was there and she also sang covers of Lauren Hill's Do Wop (That Thing) and Sam Cooke's Cupid. Wake Up Alone was dedicated to her husband, Blake, who is currently under lock and key, at her Majesty's (dis)pleasure, according to the media.
We made our exit before the gig ended, to find an army of papparazzi waiting at the exit. Well, that's according to Lisa. I didn't look that way! :)
I am peeved that I had to leave the gig early - just as she was introducing the band. I didn't get to hear Rehab or Valerie. I couldn't risk missing the last train back to London. And I wasn't the only one - it was full of Amy's fans.
Verdict: GIRL CAN SING!
The local newspaper, The Argus, earlier reported: "After the Brighton gig Winehouse, 24, called off all gigs and other public appearances for the remainder of 2007, after her doctor advised her to take complete rest."
Get well, Amy and come back to us when you are strong again! :)

Murder in my Flat
Current mood: crazy
Category: Sports
I am planning to dye my blonde hair and become a brunette. Sweet Cheeses, I don't even like that word - it sounds dirty, hahaha! But I am sick of having my highlights done at the hairdressers!!! Is it a social suicide? Do blondes have more fun? I am about to find out all about that, but in a reverse. What do you guys think? Am I crazy??? I mean, it's going to take 3 or 4 bottles to cover all my hair! I might even need a whole new wardrobe to match my new colour! We are talking a "huge, humongous change" happening over here! To be perfectly honest, I don't have the guts to go red, but I would like to! Right now, I just can't have that level of attention! Yup, I was a redhead before and I am telling you, the reds have the MOST fun there is to have!!!
Let me explain a little something before I bury myself even deeper with all my fabulous brunette friends and their beautiful brunette hair - the issue is only with the word!!! My great aunt with a bloody great big moustache was called Brunetta, so the images of her face associated with my new hairdo are kinda killing the joy of me becoming a brunette, if that makes sense, hahahaha!!! HELP me coin a NEW word instead of that one!!!
I am so looking forward to posting the "before" and "after" photos!!! NOT! But I'll do it - just for the hell of it! And if there is any spare dye left at the end of that, Laliq's tail is going to get it! *grin*

Fishbones and Dog Biscuits Update
Current mood: happy
Category: Parties and Nightlife
Hello to all my wonderful friends, old and new! I haven't blogged in a while, so let's do a quick recap of the important things since Laliq was ill: ~ Laliq got better and is improving all the time; ~ I went to Croatia and loved every minute; ~ I swallowed a fishbone and lived to tell the tale; ~ Laliq got some dog treats from US and I thought they were for me, hahahahahaha - well, they smelt of sugar and they were so darn tasty!!! *giggle* Hahahahaha!!! ~ errrrm, that's it! I guess I owe you a few photoblogs!!! *grin*
And lastly, please read this BLOG, please, please - Karma will pay you back, she will, trust me! :)
UPDATE:
I forgot to say that, I have also had my first myspace meeting - I met up with none other but fabulous Stacy! She is a great girl - felt like I've known her all my life! Hope to see you soon again, girl!
Another bit of news - I received a book in the post, from one of my favourite authors, Martin Millar. He sent me a copy of his book in Russian!! How fab is he!!! Don't answer - go to his myspace and check him out - read his books, adore him, hahaha! :))

OH and if you want photoblogs, check my brother's ones. He is much more talented in that department than me. Here's the link for Belgium. There is another one of Bosnia, Croatia and Slovenia there - look them up. I promise you'll enjoy it! :)
And last, but not least, my complacency has lost me several readers - can you believe it??? Hahahaha, Karma works in mysterious ways - or NOT. Serves me right, right? *giggle*
And another thing - huh, you thought this would be short, eh? I need some movie recommendations, please!!!
Oh, and one LAST piece of news (I promise, hahaha) - Laliq is now on YouTube - click HERE for more Bichon shenanigans!
Love you guys, hand on my heart I do! xoxoxoxox

Laliq is sick (Update with photos!)
Current mood: calm
Category: Pets and Animals
My poor little doggy is on a drip right now, at the pet hospital. They wouldn't let me stay with her. She is on antibiotics and fluids, as she's vomitted the whole night through - and did other unusual bodily functions, if you know what I mean. I had no sleep - she tried and managed about 3 hours in total. She was burning with fever - I could feel how hot she was. The vet admitted her when she measured it scientifically! Poor Laliq, so ill and having to endure such an embarrassment! 104 degrees, instead of the normal 101!!! I'll go to see her later. Little git started being sick only half an hour after my vet closed his surgery, so the emergency charges apply now. And guess who cancelled the insurance only a month ago? Oooops. Anyway, as long as she gets well again, it will all have been worth it! :)
Also: SORRY about my long absence and the lack of commentage on your blogs! xoxoxox
Update:
Laliq is back home!!! They wanted to keep her in for another night, but she chewed through her drip and cried all afternoon. When I came to visit her, she literally threw herself at me and clung onto me for dear life! I knew then she was fine. The vet agreed. Yaaay!!! It was so hot in there and they put the lampshade on her head so she doesn't chew the drip again, little monster!!! She is resting now. I've been feeding her little and often - a mouthful or two every half hour or so. In any case, she is much much better!!! Thank you all so much for all your messages, love and support!!! xoxoxoxoxox
This is Laliq 5 minutes before I "rescued" her:

And this is back home - the vet took the drip out and put a fresh bandage on her, so the wound from the drip didn't bleed:

She got a new bobo toy and a duck and of course, her favourites, Rudy and Bunny from her best friend Sheeba were there to greet her too. *giggle* There is no way you can love or spoil your dog too much!!!
