Dream Tours 2008

Just a blog to say thanks to everyone who comes out to live shows!
You are allowing me to tour with some of the best, and some of my favorite bands out there! the Asian man tour, Insub fest, the Copyrights...
Then the double header Phenomenauts/Vic Ruggiero, PLUS FM Static and Patty Botox!
what a crazy circus that was!!! And well attended! awesome!!!
now off to UK/Europe with my friend Kevin Seconds, and seriously, his "Rise Up Insomniacs" is one of the best CDs/Recordings of the year!!!!
Cannot wait!
Then we get to tour the European Continent with 2 new CDS, new vinyl, art, shirts, music, good times and more!!!!

The Upcoming Phenomenauts Supercollider Tour...

...will be unlike any tour they've ever done....
All three artists Phenomenauts, Vic Ruggiero, Kepi, will be sitting in on each other's sets,
and there will be special guest musicians from such bands as Epoxies and River City Rebels, and we've already witnessed some of the magic, and even if you've seen any of these artists multiple times, this tour will be fun and different each night, so catch as many shows as you can, it's gonna be a blast!(off), sorry about the pun...really...

Welcome to the Jungle....

Yesterday we went on a Swamp Cruise outside of New Orleans...amazing!
real gators! a bunch of them, up to 13 feet long!
the captain picked up a 7 footer by the nap of the neck, and petted the big Daddy!
these gators have a relationship with the boat captains, it's crazy!
no Disneyland plastic snappers here (I love them too!), but you can see them swimming up to the boat and it's cool!
we saw turtles, frogs, fish , birds, and the cutest laziest swamp cats and kittens ever!
then we went to the French Quarter for Beignets and VooDoo shopping,
then off to play with the Dollyrots!

Welcome to the Waffle House...

Waffle House is already known as the restaurant not to go to if you are a germaphobe,
but yesterday in Birmingham Alabama, whew......
The juke box was so greasy you almost could not see through the glass (plus there were too many songs by American Idol contestants)
In the time it took us to get our order taken, Ronnie from the Copyrights who had decided not to join us for a meal, changed his mind, sat at the counter, ordered, ate and paid his check...
meanwhile we wallowed in the waste (MUSHROOMS included) of those who dined at this cursed table before us...
we cleaned the table, napkin holder and condiments with WIPES while we waited, and it's ALWAYS worth it once the food comes...
even the friendly cockroach who waved us goodbye was in a good mood...an employee had stepped on him and he survived, so I kicked him some bacon for a snack!

In just the last 5 days

Danny, Jaz, and Lys flew into Hamden for the last show of the Asian Man tour... They all played drums with us, we had 8 drummers in 9 songs... Monday we ALL painted for an art show in NYC, did 2 sets acoustic, and sold a bunch of art!!! Tuesday we played on the Half Moon, a boat full of punkers that sailed around the Statue of Liberty, Kepi and Wimpy super-jamming with the Queers... Wednesday we rocked the Asbury Lanes in New Jersey, so many friends and super jams! Earlier that day we all went to Coney Island for the first time and rode the Cyclone! Last night was Philly- veggie cheesesteaks and the Northstar Bar! See you tonight at Insub fest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dino saw a trucker pay $500 in one shot, then I saw a guy pay $992 for 200 gallons of diesel!!! he got some chips and a Mountain Dew and went, "Well, there goes $1,000" ouch! one fill up!

can’t believe it’s been almost a month since posting...
Current mood: happy

so much has happened, it's awesome to be touring again, the shows, bands and tour have been great! so much good times, food, music! thanks to Pete X for sailing in San Diego (first time ever!), and it's like the Nature Channel out there: (besides the hundreds of dead Armadillo) Buffalo, foxes, coyotes, vultures, prairie dogs, horses, burros, ponies,
ostrich, and a LIVE armadillo (first one ever!)

It’s REALLY messy in there....

Somewhere between St. Louis and Chicago is the filthiest restroom in America...
I pulled into this gas station after driving a very long stretch and had to go to the bathroom...I asked for the key and the cashier told me "it's really messy in there"...I had used what I thought were some of the messiest toilets on Earth, from Oklahoma City to some squats in Italy, so I said "That's o.k., I really gotta go and I can handle it", thinking there was gonna be T.P. on the floor or something...The attendant handed me the key, reluctantly knowing I was in for a surprise...wow...All I can figure is that the person who made this mess must have consumed some sort of cocktail combining meth-amphetamin and laxative...there was "poo" (to put it as kindly as I can) all over the toilet seat (POSSIBLY understandable), on the floor (VAGUELY comprehendible) and on the sink (TOTALLY unexplainable)...WHY?...not even the most disgruntled ex-employee could have "dis-grunted" this mess...I held my breath as my body slipped into a shock mode, did my emergency 1 and got the hell out of there as fast as I could...another gentleman was waiting outside when I came out and I warned him "You don't want to go in there"...
as I gave the key back to the employee, he just kind of raised his eyes with a kind of "I tried to tell you" look...one day I will listen...

Route 66 complete! life without music...

O.K...
finished Route 66...
Santa Monica to the Sears Tower...
one check off on the list of life...
played an awesome show with the Methadones and MU330 on Saturday, then back-tracked to St. Louis to finish driving the entire route of Route 66 at one time...
now off to Green Bay and St. Cloud...
Forgot to mention:
took off in my Dad's old Jeep, which had a cassette player in it...
thought that would be awesome and grabbed a box of old tapes to kick it old school on Route 66...
the second day of tour the tape deck got jammed with my Green Day rarities cassette (See:Planet Earth 1994 by the Copyrights) that Dan Lumley had made me, and had to listen to the radio for just a few hours which seemed like a lifetime in hell...
a terrible new country cover of an already terrible Eagles song,
terrible classic rock, terrible talk radio, yuck,
needless to say we drove through the snow (literally) to Best Buy first thing in the morning to get a CD/MP3 player...now things are good...
but I WAS looking forward to playing those old tapes...
oh well, thanks to Kevin Seconds for making a good new CD I am addicted to...
