I"m thinking of changing my last name to Garfunkel
Current mood: garfunkel-ly

I think then I might get more attention. Plus, everybody would be like "are you related to art garfunkel?" and I'd be like "No.  Why the hell would you ever ask me that?" real offended like.

Current mood: excited

I really want to avoid the cold weather here in lovely dayton, oh so I want to go out on tour this december.  If you happen to know anyone who books shows anywhere across this great land or if you can offer a place to stay for me and krista, please write me and let me know.

My new plans
Current mood: anxious

So several of you have asked what my new plans are so i decided to do a blog. I've become really close to the girl i'm dating, krista, lately and we've decided to move to austin, tx together.  We just think it will be such a fun place to live (being bohemians really appeals to us) and my music will be much better suited for that town.  we're going to save up our money and get an apartment there hopefully in about 6 months or so.  So yes, if you have any friends in austin who can help or have any tips for me about succeeding there, i'd be grateful for any help you can give.

so i've decided i want to start a band

I need a keyboardist, a bassist, and a fiddle player and it would also really help if people could play a multitude of instruments to give us some flexibility.  I want people who are easy to get along with and very talented.

make one of my songs your profile song and win a dollar
Current mood: artistic

if you put my song on your page and come to my show, i'll  give you a dollar.  this may not sound like a lot but i'm a poor musician so that's like 1/326 of my net wealth.  So, proportionally, that's like someone with a million dollars giving you $3060 so that's pretty generous on my part.

my favorite response ever
Current mood: amused

okay, so i ask (harrass, whatever) lots of people to listen to my songs because i'm always bored and i like getting messages from people.  plus, i hope people want to buy my cd or come see me at shows so it's kind of a fun way to promote myself.  So i wrote a girl and asked if she would listen and she wrote, "no I won't because you're ugly".  For some reason, this made me laugh and laugh.  at least she was honest i guess but i can't figure out how someone's attractiveness relates to the quality of their music.  oh well.

missing maggie jayne
Current mood: listless

i miss maggie so much sometimes.  nights like tonight anyway.  i wonder if she ever comes to my page anymore.  I stay on AIM all day in the hopes that by some miracle, she signs on.  it's just so sad when someone disappears from your life and there's nothing you can do.  I read her old emails to me all the time.  I guess that's sort of pathetic.  I have daydreams where she comes to see me play because that would be the greatest thing ever.  It's grey outside.  i think that's why i'm in a bad mood.

I love british girls

Lately, i've been clicking on british girls so they'll listen to me and I am just getting the best reaction from them.  It makes me feel so great.  Everyone listens and writes me back and almost all of the comments have been very positive. Perhaps the brits are just very polite, but i'd prefer to think that i'm just really good.   I definitely want to go play in the UK now.  Those accents kill me anyway.  i'd probably fall in love with every girl i talked to.

the album should be done tomorrow

I go into the studio tomorrow and i should be finishing up.  we have lots of work to do and it should be a long, expensive day but hopefully after tomorrow, it will all be done.  Then there will be two days of mixing and mastering the album and then however long it takes to print the copies.  So not much longer hopefully.  it's really been such a fun experience making it.  all the studio musicians who i brought in were so interesting.  Like the violinist was really neat.  his name was paul.  he sort of reminded me of Jeff Buckley a little bit, sort of like this genius mixed with a childlike quality.  i don't know quite how to explain it.  and the guy i'll be in the studio with tomorrow is named bobby.  he's like this little 50 year old man who you'd never expect to be a guitar god but he really is.  I was amazed at all the things he can do.   he plays keyboards, mandolin, and guitar and he's a really great producer.  he knows just what a song needs and sort of knows what i want in a song without me even having to tell him.   He's really the one that's making my album so good.  and bill is the engineer, we've spent lots of hours together.  he's really been great too and he knows his stuff.  i would be in a lot of trouble without him.  so this really has been a positive experience for me.  I hope i'll get to make lots of albums in my life really.  it's been fun.
