Another year
Current mood: contemplative
Category: Life

As my birthday has arrived I am also reminded of another important date in November to me. On the 21st of this month it will have been 13 years since my brother Rob passed of AIDS. November means something else to me, besides turning another year older.

It reminds me that in the US alone an estimated 17,000 people die each year in the United States from complications of AIDS and that number is on the rise.

22 million people have lost their life to the disease. Of that number 74% live in Sub-Saharan Africa.

In the United States there are 40,000 new cases of HIV every year!

And by the year 2010, five countries (Ethiopia, Nigeria, China, India, and Russia) with 40 percent of the world's population will add 50 to 75 million infected people to the worldwide pool of HIV disease.

It is not contained. It is not going away. It can happen to you. And "If you aren't part of the solution you are part of the problem"

I got all my statistics from www.until.com Please check it out. You can also visit www.joinred.com

Moving on?
Category: Life

..> ..>

Does anyone not have a past to be sad about? Has anyone not had things happen to them that seemed at the time unbearable?  Just a thought...my thought of the day...

"Dwell not on the past. Use it to illustrate a point, then leave it behind. Nothing really matters except what you do now in this instant of time. From this moment onwards you can be an entirely different person, filled with love and understanding, ready with an outstretched hand, uplifted and positive in every thought and deed."

Rest in Peace Survivor
Current mood: crushed
Category: Pets and Animals

Just a blog in remembrance to my beloved fish Survior. He died yesterday at the ripe old age of 4. He had been through a lot with me. He came home with me no bigger than my thumb nail. He survived a tank full of Chicalids.A fish disease that killed all his commarades and more recently the kids at the center took a tonka bus through his tank. I will miss you my little friend. What a treat you have been.

I'm Movin on
Current mood: accomplished
Category: Life

I'm Moving On Lyrics

I've dealt with my ghosts and I've faced all my demons
Finally content with a past I regret
I've found you find strength in your moments of weakness
For once I'm at peace with myself
I've been burdened with blame, trapped in the past for too long
I'm movin' on

I've lived in this place and I know all the faces
Each one is different but they're always the same
They mean me no harm but it's time that I face it
They'll never allow me to change
But I never dreamed home would end up where I don't belong
I'm movin' on

I'm movin' on
At last I can see life has been patiently waiting for me
And I know there's no guarantees, but I'm not alone
There comes a time in everyone's life
When all you can see are the years passing by
And I have made up my mind that those days are gone

I sold what I could and packed what I couldn't
Stopped to fill up on my way out of town
I've loved like I should but lived like I shouldn't
I had to lose everything to find out
Maybe forgiveness will find me somewhere down this road
I'm movin' on

I'm movin' on
I'm movin' on

Pearl Jam
Current mood: thankful

To all my friends that have been asking The Pearl Jam concert was amazing. The band played for approximently 3 hours. I heard all my favorites with the exception of "Better Man" It was really hot...In the triple digits, however we got a cloud cover to help us out, so it wasn't blazing sun on us the whole time. My first trip to the gorge...that place is beautiful. The scenery almost looked fake. Not all aspects of the trip were successful. But the Concert itself was fantastic.
