Christmas Letter from Kimmi, Yay!
Current mood: pensive

I realized that I could post this here as well.  I was reminded by a friend that I had not really been in contact with anyone for quite some time.  That was horrible of me and I'm sorry.  Life here in WA is going pretty well.  As planned, my sister and I found a cute house in Poulsbo that we are renting and have been there about two months now.  We also got a P. O. Box so my new address is:

Kimmi Rupp
P. O. Box 745
Poulsbo, WA 98370

That should be a permanent one since I don't plan on moving to far out from here.  Other familly news is that my grandma Ruth has moved up here from California.  She is slowly getting acclimated to her new home (our guest house) and of course is the reason for all the bad weather, or so our family friend Joanne has always claimed.  This month is officially the wettest month in recorded WA history.  There has been lots of rain and just this sunday we got snow.  Although I love the snow, I would be happier if it would wait until the weekend so that I don't have to go driving around in it, hehe.  And it has been pretty cold, well cold for WA though you midwest people can laugh at what we call cold.

Now there are three reasons for this email.  Number one is just to update ya'll on how I'm doing.  Number two is this.  I, Kimmi, the world's biggest procrastinator, am attempting to send out Christmas cards this year.  I know, its amazing.  You all might get them by the new year, hehe.  But here is where I need your help.  I've lost many of your addresses or they've changed, etc.  So please email me your addresses so I can get a card out to you.  I miss you all and would love to send a little bit of holiday cheer your way.  Thanks so much for helping me out.  And of course, Number three.  I need a little bit of prayer.  Although things have been going pretty well here, I am still searching for a job.  I've had a few different interviews but so far nothing has really worked out yet.  I just keep reminding myself that God knows where I belong and I need to keep my trust in him.  But its hard.  So please pray for me, that I'll find where I'm supposed to be. I think that's about all.  Thank you so much for being such good friends.  I miss you all, and those of you in the WA area, or thinking of visiting.  Please look me up.  Happy Belated Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year.

I love you all,
Kimmi

Life in General
Current mood: lethargic

Hey all.  just thought I'd drop a line about whats going on.  My sister and I got a place together in Poulsbo and are busily trying to make it look nice.  Also, I'm still job searching but hopefully I'll get a couple more leads.  I might be absent from the computer a little.  We have to do all of that cable/interenet/phone stuff so its taking awhile.  And my cell phone fell into a basin of water.  Its working for the most part but I don't know what some of the quirks are that might still be wrong.  So if I don't call people back for some reason, thats why.  hehe.  Ok, running away to more job searching stuff.

Home Improvement and We might have a house to rent!
Current mood: amused

Yay!  My sister and I put in our paperwork for a very small 2 bedroom, 1 bath house just down the street from my parents home.  This might sound slightly alarming except that we will not have laundry facilities at our house and need a place.  Also, I am very conscious of the "parents to kid boundaries".  But at least we probably have a house.  Also, apparently on monday I will probably get a call from a possible job person.  yay.  I would be working as a receptionist/front desk worker in an acupuncture and chinese medicine office.  It would be good work in a place thats relatively close to home.  yay.  Ok, lots of work on the guest house.  My grandma is moving in just a couple weeks so we need to speed up the process of getting it done.  sigh.  my work never ends.

Home at Last!
Current mood: lethargic

Yay!  I'm finally back in good ole WA state.  I am at my parents house for a little bit but my sis and I have filled out papers for a rental so hopefully we can move in by Sept. 1st.  We'll see.  I am also job searching so I might not be available for a little bit to hang out but I'm looking forward to seeing all you WA peeps.  yay.  Miss you all and hope to see you soon.

How hot has it been?

I thought this was pretty funny.  And I posted it in a bulletin too.  Hope you enjoy.

Kimmi

BEDFORD, N.H. - Blistering heat was just what Sandi Fontaine needed to bake cookies for her co-workers on the dash of her Toyota RAV4.

With temperatures soaring Wednesday, Fontaine placed two trays of cookie dough on the dashboard, shut the doors and retreated inside to her air-conditioned office.

"My husband wanted me to run some errands this morning," said Fontaine, who works at Baldwin and Clarke Corporate Finance. "I said, 'I can't. I'm baking cookies.'"

Fontaine first tested her dashboard oven three years ago. She said anyone can do it; the only requirement is for the outside temperature to be at least 95 degrees, so it will rise to about 200 degrees in the car. Temperatures in the area reached the mid- to upper 90s on Wednesday.

"Mrs. Fields has nothing on Sandi," co-worker Brian Champigny said of the cookie company.

Though Thursday was supposed to be cooler, Fontaine said she'll still enjoy the benefits of her culinary effort.

"When you open the door to that car," she said, "it's like, oh, my God. It's a wonderful smell."

I'm Going Home!
Current mood: grateful

That's right.  It's true.  I will be on a train on August 14th heading back to WA.  While I am sad to be leaving so many wonderful people (especially my coworkers), I am happy to be going home.  I miss so many people that are in WA right now and I can't wait to see them.  Yay!  So to all of you here in the MN area, I've got two weeks to hang, and for those of you in the WA area, I'll be back around the 16th.  That's about it.  Hugs.

Oh, and btw, it's horrendously hot here.  argh.  so hot that I slept at my office last night cuz it was air conditioned.  I probably won't again but it was nice to be cool for a change.

Marriage Supporters
Category: News and Politics

I frequently will forward different bulletins because it's fun and I get bored easily. I ran across this one and reposted it:

Bob Dole - divorced the mother of his child, who had nursed him through the long recovery from his war wounds.

Newt Gingrich - divorced his wife who was dying of cancer.

Dick Armey - House Majority Leader - divorced

Sen. Phil Gramm of Texas - divorced

Gov. John Engler of Michigan - divorced

Gov. Pete Wilson of California - divorced George Will - divorced

Sen. Lauch Faircloth - divorced

Rush Limbaugh - Rush and his current wife Marta have six marriages and four divorces between them.

Rep. Bob Barr of Georgia - Barr, not yet 50 years old, has been married three times. Barr had the audacity to author and push the "Defense of Marriage Act." The current joke making the rounds on Capitol Hill is "Bob Barr...WHICH marriage are you defending?!?

Sen. Alfonse D'Amato of New York - divorced

Sen. John Warner of Virginia - divorced (once married to Liz Taylor.)

Gov. George Allen of Virginia - divorced

Ronald Reagan - divorced the mother of two of his children to marry Nancy Reagan, who bore him a daughter only 7 months after the marriage.

Henry Kissinger - divorced

Rep. Helen Chenoweth of Idaho - divorced

Sen. John McCain of Arizonia - divorced

Rep. Susan Molinari of New York - Republican National Convention Keynote Speaker - divorced

So.......homosexuals are going to destroy the institution of marriage? Wait a minute, it seems the Christian Heterosexual Republicans are doing a fine job without anyone's help!

The next day I recieved this email from one of my college roommates. Thanks Marina for the information.

Lord! May I never be the "nagging" wife!!
Current mood: amused

So I was on the bus this morning enjoying the ride to work when this old couple got on.  The man was very slowly shuffling through his change to put in the machine and the entire time his wife was nagging him to "Go faster.  You've got to get your change in the machine before anyone else tries to or you'll lose your money (which is not true btw)."  And other such comments, all in a loud and nasally voice.  It was scary because when something is stressing me I can see myself doing that same thing that this old woman was doing so Lord, may I never become the "nagging" wife.  haha.

Yes, I finally have a design for my Myspace page.  And the coolest of cools, its X-Men.  Hope all is going well for everyone entering the "summer" months.  It's absolutely beautiful here.  I would type more but I need to get back to work.  Talk to everybody later.

California...YAY!
Current mood: sick

It's official.  I have my ticket to CA.  I've talked to my grandma about staying with her and borrowing her van so I am mobile.  And so Mark your dates Kiddos.  I will be flying down on March 31st, late and going straight to my Grandmas.  Then on Sunday, April 2nd, I will be heading to CLU.  I will then spend a few days in that area and will be heading to Ventura on Thursday April 6th to do more fam stuff.  And then its back to my Grandma's on April 7th and I fly home at midnight-ish Sat. night, Sun. morning.  Thats my week in a glance.  Hopefully I'll be able to see a bunch of ya'll.  Miss you all and chao.
