So who’s going to the ZombieFest at the Midway Drive-in???

Anybody coming out for the undead fun?  They're screening George Romero's Diary of the Dead and Dan O'Bannon's Return of the Living Dead at an honest to goodness drive-in theater.  It's a lot of fun, and they've got a killer concession stand.

So come on out and join the party.

I Am Legend....Indeed.

Let me just say, that if this was the last film on Earth, I still wouldn't watch it again.  EVER.  What an abomination.  First of all, could we get any further from the original source?  Sure, we got the title.  And.....oh yeah...they used the same name.  That's about it.

Now I like Will Smith, so I didn't have a problem with him.  And I thought he did okay for the most part.

But who in the hell gave the okay for those crappy looking CGI creatures they used?  I haven't seen that bad of CGI work since American Werewolf in Paris.  Truly embarrassing.

And it wasn't just the terrible CGI.  I thought they completely lost out on the origianl story.  What Neville was doing during the day.  Why the creatures were what they were?  So once again, Hollywood pays money for a title and then gives some screenwriter to write something completely different.

The only good thing this is going to do for me is make me break out the first version, Last Man on Earth, starring Vincent Price.  Because the last time I watched that, I remember it being a lot better than what most people had been saying.

Anyway, just needed to get that off my chest.  I would be amazed at how much money the movie took in at the box office.  But I'd say that was because 99% of them probably had never heard of the original book.  And that, my friends, is the truly sad part about all of this.

I would like to hear anybody's thoughts who did enjoy this movie.  We can discuss this in a quiet and civilized manner.  Honest...

We also have posted our interview with up-and-coming director Douglas Buck.  He recently directed the remake of Sisters, but more importantly is the director of Family Portraits: An American Trilogy.  That one is a must see.
