Back to Life...Back to Reality
Hello there everybody, It's back to reality in 2 hours as I am back to work. Both the good Dr. and I have been off a full week and I'm very excited to get back to work. Don't get me wrong, time off is the best....having zero responsibility is amazing but I'm just as excited to get back into the everyday groove of life.
In a nut shell, here is a rundown of my last 10 days.
2.5--The amount of hours I slept after the last Love Line and before my plane left for mexico (cabo).
1--How many drinks I spilled right on my lap. It was a cran-apple drink. I was being so hyper and ridiculous on the airplane and god punished me. I was soaked in red cold drink!!!!!
8--the amount of times I said, "senor, una lava flow por favor"
2--the amount of times I said specifically.."Francisco!! uno lava flow por favor"
125--Thats how many pounds the sail fish I caught was. (i'll have a pic up tomorrow or the next day)
13--how many minutes it took me to reel the fish in. I was so god damn sweaty and tired from a 13 minute fight. It was a rush like I've never felt.
1--how many times a person in Mexico said "Where is Dr. Drew?"
3--How many times I thought of that TERRIBLE video of the dolphin being sexualy molested by its trainer.
1 and 45--The number of times and minutes I swam with a dolphin. Her name was Meriam. I held her dorsal fin and she pulled me thru the water.
1--The amount of times I thought Anderson would have a field day with this if he saw me now.
8--Thats how many hamburgers I ate in 4 days in Mexico because I was afraid to eat other things.
2--The amount of times a local asked me if I was Mexican. I still dont understand. Was it my spanish speaking skills? My tan? My love of Menudo? Side note-I was also asked last year more then 4 times if I was half Asian.
So that was the first four days of the vacation. Now on to Idaho. Home to Napolean Dynamite, Potatoes, The place where Evil Kenivil tried to jump the snake river, and of course Sun Valley.
1--How many stops we made before we hit boise. LAX to Salt lake to Boise.
2.25--Hours it takes to drive from Boise to Sun Valley.
20--The amount of feet I jumped off a bridge into a river. Yes I was scared and yes the river was cold. Thank god I had a bathing suit on cuz I was like a scared turtle if you know what I mean.
22--The amount of miles we biked before jumping off the bridge.
2--The amount of Mooses my brother and I almost hit on our bikes. We were biking along the river on a path talking not looking too far ahead when all of a sudden, two gigantic moose walked in the path 20 yards in front of us. I could barely speak as I saw them...I yelled..'MOOOOOOOSE" "MoooooooooooSE!!!" We hit our brakes hard and sat there. These two gigantic animals stared for no more then 10 seconds, and thankfully took off.
6, 1, 5, 2--The total amount of drinks I had at a bar called the casino, How many games we bowled, how many sets of tennis we played, how many trout I caught and released.
6.4--How many miles I ran yesterday, the last day of the vacation. I was on a 100% health kick on this vacation by the way.
1--How many times we watched Napolean Dynamite in Idaho. Thank you comedy central. I still laugh everytime Uncle Rico says..."How much you wanna bet I can throw a football over them mountains?"
2--Thanks to my terrible planning, its the amount of stops we made on southwest from Boise into LAX. Boise-Reno-San Jose-LAX. Got home at 12:15am today AUg. 18th.
Now my last thought, and if you have read this far, thank you so much for reading. One movie I watched while on my little break was the classic Revenge of the Nerds. I have seen this great movie at least 10 times and I just noticed something that I do not think has ever been mentioned.
Louis Skolnick (played by Robert Carridine and not to be confused with Gilbert Lowe played by Anthony Edwards of ER and Gotcha!) did a terrible thing in the movie.
As we all know, Louis ended up with the hot girl Betty Childs. But hold on one gosh darn minute here. He raped her....on the moon! He pretended he was Stan Gable (Ted McGinley). He stole his dark mask....got on top of miss Betty Childs on the moon mind you.....and gave it to her!! To Louises credit he did a fine job because Betty loved it.
She stated "you did things to me you had never done before" At that point he takes off the mask for the big reveal and all Betty says is.."your that nerd."
Louis was never prosecuted, The Tri Lambs took over the greek cancel, and Lamar Latrell still throws things with a limp wristed throwing style.
Have a great week everyone. Also, a big thanks to everyone who picked up my CD. Its doing very well and of course still out there on Itunes and target etc. Total Dance 2008 Volume 2 mixed by some dude Stryker. I caught you all a delicious bass.
Bye, Stryker

The Answer- It’s at Wall Mart, Target and Best Buy.
The Question- Where is my CD being sold as of Aug. 5th.
I know you are now saying what the hell man?? A CD?
Well, with the help of Thrive records, we are putting out a mix CD called Total Dance 2008 Vol. 2 mixed by Stryker.
Some of the artists I was able to get on the cd-- Katy Perry, Flo Rida, Kanye West, Britney Spears, Chris Brown, Fergie, Estelle, Missy Elliot, Robyn, and many more.
As you know I come from the rock world and this is a dance cd with remixes with zero dead time between songs and continually mixed. That is exactly why this was so intriguing to me. It was just so different from what I am used to.
Being in the studio with the folks from Thrive was a blast. Mixing beats, throwing in bells and whistles was so fun and honestly I love the songs so much more then the originals and the best part is the flow from one song to the next.
I am very excited about this to say the least. I hope you have a great weekend, talk to you Sunday on Loveline and we are back on at Ellen in early September.
I hope you enjoy the cd.
Be Good, Stryker

Garnier Fructis and the Tears that be Streaming
Good day everybody and if i don't talk to you later.....Good Night. I have not written anything worthy lately except one letter to Penthouse forum so I give to you these words of thought.
Lately, I have this habit of selecting a great random song from my I POD to listen to while i take a shower. This is creating a huge problem. The amount of time it is taking me to select the "GOTO" shower song is longer then the actual shower. You may be asking what is a great shower song? The answer---a song I have not heard in a while that I love, or a song that I have never gotten tired of. Example-- I POD (3,000 songs) Select--songs Hit shuffle FIRST CHOICE-Jack Johnson's The Horizon Has Been Defeated.....As they say on MTV..NEXT!!!!! SECOND-Neil Diamond's Im a believer NEXT!!!!! THIRD-Serj Tankian's The Unthinking Majority I love a lot but NEXT!!!!!! FOURTH-System of a Down's Shimmy NEXT!!! NUMBER 5-Greg Kihn's Jeopardy (I OWN THIS SONG??) NEXT!!!! SIX- Chub Rock's Treat 'em Right....YES this is the one. Select..play..run to shower..turn on. find proper temperature.
Here is the problem. By the time I get in the shower the song is halfway done and I must hope that the next random song is intriguing and exciting....which leads me to the following.
So I'm in the shower getting clean and all of a sudden the following words are being uttered/sung out of my mouth.......Tears stream, down your face, I promise you I will learn from mistakes.
As i scrubbed my hair with Garnier Fructis ( No One makes your hair stronger), I realized I was singing a song that I knew but what the hell band was it? Holy cow it was Coldplay!!!! (Insert clip of Cameron Frye yelling when he finds out how many miles are on the 1962 Ferrari GT 250 California. Less then a 100 were made. My Father spent 2 years restoring this vehicle..it is his love, it is his passion..It is his fault he did not lock the garage). Two things came to mind, embarrassment and excitement. I was so embarrassed that I was singing Coldplay with such enthusiasm but I was also so excited that I was singing Coldplay with such enthusiasm. If Gwyneth Paltrow Martin Apple would have been in the vicinity of my shower, She might have mistaken me for Chris Martin (above the waist of course). I think the point of the story is that I'm glad that happened in my shower and not my car with the windows down. Now that would be embarrassing. It would be very simialr to Mike Bolton in Office Space as he bumped his gangsta rap!!!!
Well thats I all I got for today. Again, thank you everyone for the Loveline support and supper savvy comments that you leave here on myspace. They do not go unnoticed I promise. I also want to thank the Ellen fans that found me on this site. Have a great week and see you soon.

Just Another BLOG.
So I really enjoy reading blogs and writing them as well. Im sorry it's been so long since I've written anything. I think I'll answer some of the questions Ive been getting lately.
"What was that throat thing you had?" It was pneumonia. I had it for 2.5 months and never really knew it until I got really sick in mid-December. Throwing up on the radio, choking and not being able to breathe was not fun but I got so used to it. I feel great now. I just need to hit a treadmill and/or Runyon canyon which I try to do at least once a week.
"When do you film Ellen?" We shoot Ellen normally around 4pm monday-wed. and we do two shows on Thursdays. I normally get there around 11am
"Why does it cost $$ to Podcast Loveline now?" I wish I had the exact answer..but I will say this. Dr. Drew and I are not making One Cent from it. I want it to be free. I want every poor college student, non college student and everyone in between to get it for free one day or one month later. I really enjoy when you guys write that you listen on headphones at work the next day and laugh at your desk.
HMMMMM. What else?
I was watching Grease for 20 minutes tonight while flipping around. Jeff Conway was awesome in that movie. Also, back in the day, I hated the beauty school drop out part. I would fast forward that scene so fast, NOW...I love that song. (insert Anderson drop now)
Have you heard of the band ASH?? I feel so bad I have not kept up with them. I'm a bad fan. Download the songs GOLDFINGER and GIRL FROM MARS. If you dont like those two songs I'll be sad. They are hard to find on I Tunes cuz they are both on compilation CD's but they are there. I'd love to know what you think. I will say they are growers. Its not a one listen type thing.
Speaking of feeling bad. Marcy Playground should NOT have been a one hit wonder. SEX and CANDY is great. Like Disco Lemon aid there she was...but go listen to the following songs ...Saint Joe on the School Bus, Sherry Fraser, and A Cloak of Elvenkind. Where is MArcy Playground now. I'm sorry.
So I had my I POD on shuffle tonight and the song Forgot about Dre came on and this one verse caught my ear. It may be one of the best few lines in any hip hop song. Its right below...see it? read it now!
I told em all - all them little gangstas Who you think helped mold 'em all? Now you wanna run around talkin bout guns like I ain't got none What you think I sold 'em all? Cause I stay well off Now all I get is hate mail all day sayin Dre fell off What cause I been in the lab wit a pen and a pad tryin to get this damn label off?
I wish i could say that I've been in a lad with a pen and a pad.
We're 2/12ths done with 2008. Don't let time go to waste. Get stuff done. If you wanna be a writer..then write. Actor? Take a class. Speaking of wasting time..Alkaline Trio. Time to waste. Great song.
I had time to kill. It's dead and buried. You've got guts to spill, But no one trust-worthy.
So there you go. I have no idea what I just rambled about but thank you for the Loveline support, ellen support and all the enthusiasm you all have. I am off to Loveline right now.
Be Well everybody!!! Stryker

My Throat and more
The past 4 weeks has been so frustrating and at times scary with this crazy throat problem Ive been having. If you've listened to Loveline at all recently Im sure you have heard me choke/gag/lose my voice..and throw up on air. It actually happened one time while on The Ellen Show but luckily it got edited out. Ive been to 3 doctors plus Dr. Drew and Ive been on lots of meds with not very fun side effects. I am relieved that its nothing too bad. I know this because a camera was placed down my throat and the DOC did a very thorough inspection. the crazy thing is..I feel great (other then the throat). Here is a little list of things that have taken place the past 5 weeks.
Number of times I have thrown up while live on the radio---3
Number of times I couldnt breath while on the air--15 or more
While at home, the number of times i ran to get the phone to call 911 because I thought I was dying--5
Number of times I actualy called---ZERO
In the past 4 weeks, number of times I have thrown up--30 times plus.
Number of times I texted or called Dr. Drew--17
Number of times my entire life I have been really sick--1 (appendix)
Number of times a friend or co-worker started to panic because they thought I was about to die from not being able to breath---4
How much better I am feeling today compared to last week--80%
How bad I wanna goto Vegas tonight--VERY
I say it on the radio all the time, Loveline listeners are so on the ball and are very savy. You are so quick with the funny posts about famly guy to raccoons to astronaut stuff to Grandmas Boy love. have a great weekend everyone.

NYC Ruben and Reuben
Well I got back from NYC a couple days ago and I'm just happy to be healthy from a fun workfilled trip.
Where to start? How about RUBEN!!??
He is a man, not the sandwich. If you heard him on Loveline calling in, he said he'd be waiting for me outside the NYC building where I was doing the show from. He is a cab driver and listens every night while driving the crazy streets of New York. Remember, because of the time difference, Lovleline ends at 3am east coast time.
So, at 3:01am as I walked out to 52nd st....I hear "STRYKER!!!!!!!!!" It is the man named Ruben and his cab.
I hop in and he's taking my picture with his cell phone while driving me and he wants to go shoot pool with crazy girls on the other side of town..Allthough I was happy to be asked to go on this very safe rendevous with Ruben, I declined and he was cool enough to drive me for free to my hotel.
LA GIRLS vs NEW YORK GIRLS.
LA-many fake boobs (not a bad thing)
NY-boobs are real but there noses are not.
LA girls- they like actors, band dudes, and anyone that can help em get far in their career.
NY girls-They seem to all have jobs and like the stock market money dudes that wear really nice suits.
I love that as soon as you walk outside the hotel, you are swept up in the New York energy and craziness. If you think NY is full of fast walking, no pitter patter BS, siren sounding cab honking craziness, then you are right.
I went to a Yankee game. i was the only one there not wearing a uniform. I swear to god man, jeter, arod, rivera, jerseys on every fan in the stadium. Do they think they may be called in? How bout just a hat?
ALSO!! very important note. LA fans have a reputation of leaving in the 8th inning of most games...well let me tell you something...in the 8th inning of the yankees game, the "fans" were pouring out of this great historic stadium. Were there free cheese steaks and hot dogs being given away? NO SIR! I couldnt believe it.
Linkin PArk. That was the point of the trip. We did a world wide broadcast of their new album. These dudes are probably the biggest rock band today with 40 million records sold.. I must say..they are still so cool and gracious and appreciative. Minutes to Midnight is amazing!!!
It was very surreal to be walking the streets of New York by myself and in the distance I recognized the face and sillouhette (i cant spell) of 5 men. Just having a conversation in the middle of the city. The 5 guys were...Chester and Mike Linkin Park, Gerard from My Chem. Romance, and Adam and Matt from Taking Back Sunday.
Now..Back to Reuben..not the cabby but the sandwich. I had the best Reuben at this diner right by my hotel. It had swiss cheese with no saurkraut, 1000 island and coleslaw. the fries were well done and I was a happy young man. The diner is on the corner of 58th and 7th i believe.
So there you go..Ruben and reuben..LP in the NYC and now back in LA on the L O V E L I N EEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

The Mansion and Raccoons and Road Hogs
So I went to the mansion..yes the one where Hugh Hefner lives. I fed a monkey grapes. I drank free drinks. I smiled at playmates. I talked to Holly for 30 seconds. Bridgitt said hi. A security gaurd told me to move.
Hef looked good. I saw Travis Barker and his wife.not at the same time. I got another free drink. I saw Simon Cowell and his man boobs. I saw Anderson smoking. We had a patron shot.
I than went to see Dr. Drew at his party for Road Hogs. I didnt have a pass so security told me to leave. Than I called Drew and he came and brought me in.
I saw John Travolta, Tim Allen, Martin Lawrence and the scary dude from LOST. The "other" who said..."we're gonna have to take your boy."
I saw the Sklar bros. from ESPN. who said they listen to Loveline. There was lots of free food so I ate it.
I went home at 12am. An early night but a fun one. It was great to see Drew gettin sum love from Hollywood.. People were wondering who the hell is this dude following Dr. Drew around.
Lookout for raccoons. They love to bite a man where it counts. Down with raccoons.
Thanks for reading.

Stuff..Music..Stuff
So, Ive been listening to some older cd's lately.
NWA's Straight Outta Compton is genious.
Radoiheads OK Computer rules.
The song Beautiful Day by U2 is amazing. I always blew that one off as a friendly little U2 radio song. I was listening to it yesterday and it is so fricken good. It may be one of my favorite U2 songs. Why am I so late to notice that?
My favorite rap songs come from the DOC, MC Breed, Warren G, Method Man, Ice Cube and Eazy E!
Tony Orlando had some of the best pop songs I have ever heard. A bit cheesy but great.
Radio/Video by System is #1 in my ears.
I heard that Justin Timberlake brought sexy back. I was out at Houstons eating spinache artichoke dip and the waitress told me that. I was pretty impressed.
If I could have been in a movie or two..I choose Bad News Bears, The Natural, Home Alone. I'll give you ten seconds to get your ugly, yella, no good keister off my property before I pump your body full of lead. One...TWO...TEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep the change you filthy animal.
Is Brittany Spears hot? Im not sure.
Is Lyndsay Lohan hot?
Are there only 6-10 celebrities?
Lohan--has talent
Jessica Simpson--No talent
Paris--Talent in the xxx movie
Tom Cruise--Talent but he's nuts now
Pitt and Jolie--Talented, nuts,hot.
Nicole Ritchie--Skinny.
Spears--No panties and had talent.
Thats all i got. Thank you so much for all the support and nice words throughout the year. Have a great holiday. Be careful!
I get 3 days off work. yay!
