Rejexx EP now available on Beatport!
Current mood: productive
Category: Music
I'm very proud to announce that IBR Music, a great CT-based house label run by the Gionfriddo brothers, has signed and released three REJEXX tracks on Beatport today!
Rejexx is the partnership of Joe Giucastro and myself. We are excited that these tracks are now available to all the house heads!
I would describe our style as a mix of old school and new school house beats. Some tracks lean tribal - others straight up house.
Check it out now - search for artist "Robert LaFrance" on www.beatport.com or check my MySpace homepage for the Beatport player.
Please send me your comments!
Thanks,
Rob

Day 2 - BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT...
We were all geared up for the Juicy Party at Nikki Beach as it's usually one of my favortie parties of the conference. The day started with torrential rain which put a bit of a damper on an outdoor party. Since the Juicy party started at Noon and went til 5am, we figured we check out the Cielo party and Remix hotel first.
We caught a great minimal set by Audiofly and the start of the Todd Terry set before the rain came again. A quick stop at the Cielo party at the Raleigh hotel was next. As per usual, quality sound (Alpha Dyancord) and a mature crowd made for a fun, attitude-free vibe. Not sure what the DJ's name was but he ROCKED IT! Loops upon loops - Goodmen, Chocolate Puma, etc etc. Best set of the conference so far!
Then on to the Juicy party and by the time we get there - it's PACKED. We bought tickets in advance so no trouble getting in. But the DJs and all the sound was inside. Only a couple small monitors outside. Of course, you couldn't get inside to see anything. Lines at the bathrooms and bar were enormous. We sneaked our way into VIP but couldn't hear nor drink. Confounded - we just left. Oh well. Hopefully, they change the venue next year.

What a Day 1! Out of bed at 3am to catch the flight down, back in bed at 2am after a exhaustingly fun day (almost made it 24 hrs).
We arrived at the hotel at around 1pm and, after some hotel room confusion, headed down to the pool bar for a Pina Colada or two (gotta kick off a tropical vacation in proper fashion). Audio fly was rocking some great tech-house poolside but we needed a power nap to gear up for the evening.
A quick stop at the RIAA Grammy awards reception for some cheese, crackers apps with BT, et al. Then off to the Club World Awards. Met world famous DJ John Anthony from Downreach Radio outside. Inside, twins D:Fuse and Scumfrog MC'd while both sporting big 80s hairband hair. Lots of deserving winners but we were starstruck by the likes of James Zabiela, Danny Tenaglia, Boris, Peter Bailey, Richie Santana and Alan T. SOMEBODY TURN THE DELAY DOWN ON TRACEY THORN'S mic!! Thanks to Russ Brown from Ortofon for the table (and rum) hookup.
Next, we headed to Mynt for the invite-only Dubfire album release party for his GU: Taipei. After some sympathy pleas, Phil got in too (nice going, buddy)! Nick Fanciuli threw down some serious progressive house with techy elements that built into a fury as the crowd thickened. Sounds system was great and even the industry folks in the room had their hands up. Much respect! Bumped into the legendary Derek Dlite! Thanks to Justin Kleinfeld for the hook-up!
My tall lanky friend (for purposes of anonymity, we'll call him "Nate"), stole the DJ Times magazine promotional poster with JP and had a run in with a water fountain on the way out. Gotta check the pics (will post soon).

I'm psyched about the Fall Phoenix Lineup
Current mood: ecstatic
Category: Music
I just can't begin to tell you how excited I am about Lounge 215! We've been on a great run with our Phoenix party - the only night that plays ALL HOUSE MUSIC ALL NIGHT on Sautrdays in New Haven. The atmosphere is friendly and mature and now we're taking it to a new level.
The sound in the lounge has always been good but now it is taking a giant leap forward as I write this. Just wait til you hear it in the next couple weeks. It will shake your liver (and that's a good thing!).
And now we've announced a stellar FALL LINEUP of local headliners..
Jack McDevitt: October 7th. Mike & Kev: October 21st Gera the Russian: October 28th Bang Lee: November 4th Pauly-O: November 18th
Come on down and experience the best HOUSE music in New Haven EVERY SATURDAY!
