Above Them All
Current mood: intense

He sped

He sped through

He sped through the school zone

The place where children run to their classes

He plead it wasn't true...

He claimed he didn't know....

He can't  see

As he sits high in his SUV

Speeding...ignoring

The living and breathing

The  reading and the writing

Souls

Soaring to their classes

Helium hearts

 Racing to learn

 Godspeed

Stepping in front of the gleaming monstrosity,

Will I prove my point?

When we all step in front of the monster,  does he finally wake up?

Wake him up..just to fall asleep again and again and again ...

Daisy
Current mood: inspired

O how that mighty flower insists on  beauty in this weary world...

O how the spring dress must be worn !

O how the flower demands its place in the world.

All of the ugliness and gray concrete mankind has created ..

Never stopping the daisy... that defiant daisy

Pushing upwards to the sun ..

Victory in the face of defeat...

Unstoppable in the face of no.

She smiles...

Yes!

Susan Sontag
Current mood: refreshed

A couple of days ago, I found this in the New York Times:

"Do stuff. Be clenched, curious. Not waiting for inspiration's shove or society's kiss on your forehead. Pay attention. It's all about paying attention. Attention is vitality. It connects you with others .It makes you eager.Stay eager."-Susan Sontag

When The Muses Visit
Current mood: melancholy

Don't worry if you feel lonely. We all do sometimes. That's when your muses come and visit. You're supposed to feel lonely...cowboy lonely ...and it's human to admit this. There are 6,000,000,000 people on this planet and one can really stick a dagger in your heart and make you want to drink vats of sake. Is there such thing as a sake bong? I don't know. I digress. I always digress. But if you're smart and patient, your muses will visit and you can turn this experience into words of wisdom wrapped up as  Christmas presents  for all your friends. Don't worry somebody's got it worse. I guarantee you that one trip to the goddamn supermarket will teach you this...in spades.

Sometimes cereal boxes make me sad. They are so shouty and cheerful...mocking me with their happy colors and lucky charms. Have you ever really felt cereal box happy? If you think you have, you should think again. This culture is so into being positive...cereal box positive. But sometimes you just want to feel ok about feeling like shit. Sometimes you just want to be French about the whole fucking thing and go smoke a pack of Gauloises. This is not the correct spelling.

Writing Lyrics
Current mood: awake

Hello . Hello . Ok. This is my first blog ever. I feel as if I am going to become an addict. But we will see. I don't quite know how this works. But that's cool. I'll just keep on writing. And writing. I feel like a child tasting ice cream for this first time. This is cold and creamy . So what happens? Does Jesus appear? No. That can't be. He doesn't make many appearances...except on pieces of toast and weird ass things like that. He doesn't have a very good booking agent for more proper venues like my bedroom or Benaroya Hall. Does Jesus write blogs? If he did, you couldn't read them. If he did, they wouldn't be on something like a laptop. They would be in the trees and mountains and little babies footprints.

This is all I can manage for now. I like this blogging. Inner thoughts outward. Maybe you can reach somebody in Tunisia who has the same exact thoughts. So, excuse me while I strategize on how we are going to push Laguna! into the musical stratosphere...babies all around the world will sense that something intensely beautiful is happening. Intensely beautiful tear drops falling from the heavens that taste like lemonade. Lovely lovely...

Cheers.Lydia
