Lost, Lakers and Life after marriage
It's been awhile since I blogged. I've been adjusting to married life and so far I'm loving it. I'm in the midst of releasing a new recording of a cover song, "Listen to our Hearts". I'm going to HK in Sept. and doing some touring over the summer. Aside from getting back in the music swing of things, I am engrossed in my fave series, Lost. I love unpredictable drama and seriously, Lost has me going "wow" each week. How exactly do the Oceanic 6 get off the island and who gets left behind? I can't wait for next week's finale. Of course, I'm cheering on my Purple and Gold team onto the finals. So happy the Lakers are doing fab in the playoffs. I can smell a victory parade coming soon. Biggest surprise of the playoffs is the fact that the Celtics have had to go to game 7 every round. I thought they'd be sweeping the weaker Easterners. The Lakers have been hanging mentally tough despite some injuries to Kobe, the ultimate bball warrior. i have a hard time doing anything when I chip nail let along with torn tendons and back spasms.
ok, after the tv season concludes, I'll be in the theater watching Indy Jones' comeback. I should probably squeeze in more time to write new music. lol.

Getting "Lost" again
Current mood: enthralled
This is my 2nd attempt at this post. I think the same mysterious things on the island are happening to my computer. I'm just riveted by the new episodes of LOST. I've been a fan of the show from the beginning, but the latest twists have really got me hooked and on the edge of my seat. I was one of those people who complained last year about too much time spent with the Others and the Jack-Sawyer-Kate stuck in cages and cells. Things are moving swiftly this season and each episode is turning out jaw dropping revelations that lead to more questions. "Sayid is an assasin for Ben! Kate is Aaron's future mom! Who are the Oceanic 6? How did they get off the island? Who's behind all this madness?" My head is spinning and I'm lovin' every moment of it.

The Color Purple
Purple is my favorite color and I saw the musical, "The Color Purple," tonight which is produced by the almighty Oprah. It was a great production. Some fantastic, powerhouse voices in the show. Every time I see a musical, I get the itch to do theater. I'm supposed to do some revisions to the musical I have been working on. It's been my dream to be on Broadway one day. I'll be okay if it doensn't happen, but I miss live theater. Maybe, I just miss performing. I've been doing more studio work the past few months and haven't hit the stage in awhile. I have some songs I've been slowly working on for a new album. Having some time off performing has allowed me to rediscover my love for songwriting. I started out wanting to be a songwriter and producer and that's what I get to do now. I know it will take more faith for me to persevere and continue this race. There's much more ahead on this journey I'm on.

Sad Strike
Current mood: tired
Taking a a break from wedding planning, I watched the last new episode of 30 Rock last night. This is one of the funniest shows IMO. I love silly, surreal, satirical humor. there are so many random jokes and even a spontaneous musical number. i'm excited to watch new episodes of LOST since Heroes and 24 are affected by the strike. My fave new show is Chuck, which stars my friend, Zac Levi. Such a fun show and I'm not saying that just because I know Zac.
However the well of scripted shows in most of the TV land is drying up and also has some effect on musicians like me who do work in Film and TV. I'm just glad The Oprah Winfey Show isn't affected so I can continue to earn royalties from new episodes. While the strike goes on, NBA season is in full swing and I'm pumped up about my Lakers winning and blowing out teams...oh and Go UCLA!

Christmas Bells are Ringing
I'm up in Sacramento with my fiance and actually braved the mall today. It's been an interesting week. My grandfather is in the hospital recovering from a heart attack so I'm trying not to worry about his health too much. I'm recovering from bronchitis. I'm happy I watched the Garfield animated movie on DVD last week. that gave me some warm fuzzies. Hope everyone enjoys their Christmas and New Year. Remember to count your blessings and treasure your health.

Back from the East Coast (barely)
Current mood: tired
The past couple weeks I went to Boston to visit my cousins and friends en route to NYC for Baldwin's cousin's wedding. I decided to fly Virgin America from JFK to LAX because they had a $129 promo deal to launch the airline. Lesson 1: Don't fly on new airlines because their schedules are messed up. I was delayed for 2 1/2 hours for some stupid reasons like they couldn't get the crew there on time. Lesson 2: Delayed passengers = lots of drama. The flight before mine got cancelled and all those passengers got bumped to my flight. A couple of passengers made big fusses about changing seats and were giving the poor flight attendants such as hard time. To their credit, the crew was very nice and it's cool to order your drinks by computer touch screen. Anyway, I enjoyed my Clam Chowda, NY pizza and street kabobs while they lasted. Back to smoggy, smoky LA.

Thanks for Voting! I still feel like a winner
Current mood: content
Category: Music
Well, I didn't win the Star 98.7 contest, but I still feel victorious because I was shown such tremendous support. Even if my name was spelled wrong on their website, I hope many people were exposed to my music and the inspiration for my music. I know so many of you had your friends, aunts, uncles, nephews, dogs and cats voting. I plan to keep making music and I probably should get around to shooting a video. People all over the world pitched in to vote so I hope my fan base can keep growing. My goal was to make the Top 10 and I'm thankful for that distinction out of the hundreds of other entries.
