that's right, gang. we've got a new blog, and it's here - (www.latenightplayers.com/blog/, for those who don't want to click right now). change your bookmarks! alert your friends! don't tell your enemies!
well, gang, so far in '08 we've had two awesome shows, both at prep schools:
- the governor's academy - we showed up at the oldest boarding school in america after having a pleasant dinner in newburyport, ma. there was a ridiculously wonderful theater there, and we were helped out by the incredible joe and the unbeatable tim. thanks, team. crowd, you were great, too.
- suffield academy - a couple days later, we went to suffield, ct to do a mid-day show in a baptist chapel (complete with a baptismal tub right behind us on stage). we had a great crowd (ok, attendace was mandatory, we think - but everyone was ridiculously great anyway). thanks to mr. cahn for settin' it up, to allie for her introductory and technical help, and to joe morocco (sp?) for his tech. help and the use of an hour and a half of his birthday.
comin' up: shows at lesley university and mary baldwin college, and some more videos...
this was on a poster we stared at for hours before the governor's academy show. it still makes me feel weird...
zach and aaron delivering the day's sermon.
governor's academy anagrams - bad angle, good 'grams.
OK - we all know that andrew slack was a touring member of the LNP until recently, and now he's not. we all know that he spends a lot of time running an organization he started called the Harry Potter Alliance. but did you know that this week's issue of time magazine, with vladimir putin on the cover, has a couple paragraphs all about the harry potter alliance? we did. and it's incredible. time magazine check it.
congrats, andrew!
and happy new year, everyone. much more exciting lnp stuff in the works for '08. stay tuned.
so, there's an ad for this mustard museum in pretty much every issue of the new yorker. but lately, they've added a new little item to it - can you spot the bad choice? a brief perusal of their site makes it seem pretty clear that they are not intentionally making a joke.

first: happy hanukah! we hope this year's festival of lights is the best one yet. we know how we're going to celebrate - by sneakily lighting our menorahs each night in hotel rooms where we're probably not supposed to light candles. shhhhh....don't tell the holiday inn in columbus...
speaking of which, second: we're currently in columbus, ohio at a hotel with an indoor waterpark that's closed on wednesdays (those jerks). at least we can imagine what it would be like to go on waterslides in the middle of a big snowstorm.
third: our very own zach, aka mc mr napkins, just got an awesome new video featured on youtube. check it out here. or below.

hey team - just a quick note to say that our friend shawn decker is havin' an online awareness-raising campaign about world aids day, which is THIS SATURDAY. go to his profile to see more about what you can do to help! OK?!?!?!
first we drove back to massachusetts, stopping for a quick lunch with our friends dave and karen at china road in syracuse, then went for a quick stop in northampton to help our friend molly keehn celebrate her birthday, after which aaron and i kept going to boston to catch an early flight out to colorado. phew. see, it's not easy being a comedian.
things at least two of us did in colorado: - ate green chiles three times - swam in hot water bubbling up out of the earth - drove a longer-than-expected time on straighter-than-expected roads - did a show at adams state college for a bunch of awesome folks - hiked in the great sand dunes - pretended to vomit
lots of pics. check it:
that night's menu at the local motel
in the middle of nowhere, a hot springs community pool. weird.
feelin' hot hot hot
out the sun roof.
a potato (local) and a rice krispie treat (definitely not local), both larger than my head.
backstage at adams state
out back at adams state. we found these identical puddles of vomit waiting for us...
after colby, we drove a bunch and did a show the next night at the university of buffalo, for their hillel. it was a fun time, and we stood behind stacks of kitchen equipment as a makeshift backstage.
speaking of makeshift backstages, the next night we were at penn state-erie, where for the second time in a row we used a broom/chemical closet as a backstage. that was a fun show, too.
then we flew to colorado. update from there coming soon...
thank you, random graffiti artist.
backstage. see?
we had to talk him out of it.
look at the name of that freakin' ingredient. we tried some, and it tasted pretty good.

Soylent Green Release date: 05 August, 2003
so after our show at castleton, we decided to check out the vermont-famous farmer's diner, which recently relocated from barre, vt to the quechee gorge (also in vt). it's like a regular diner, but as many ingredients as possible are from as close as possible. pretty cool.
then we went and did a show at colby college. total sweetness! then we had a freakin' crazy night and next day of driving and did a show at the university of buffalo, which was also totally sweet.
now we're in erie, pa, at an oh-so-lovely days inn, gettin' ready for our show tonight at penn state erie-the behrend college. then we drive to boston, and fly to colorado. crazy.
the farmer's diner.
food from here. (this was the best thing i ate - a hushpuppy served in an iron skillet with some homemade maple bbq sauce. hot cha!
ok, quick update from the comfort inn in rutland where we always stay after we do a show at castleton state college
we had a great show. thanks, melissa. you're awesome.
that event at the bottom seems fine, unless you know that gerd is the name of a disease that's basically super bad heartburn. doesn't sound like fun to tango with it.
