Calm, collective + shy. These three words do not describe Lauren Flax. Precise, intense & grounded would be more accurate. However be warned, she throws what little body weight she has full force into the music. Give her an inch and she'll take you on a journey thru the lost depths of Narnia. With 10+ years under her belt of playing every major city across America and the Atlantic, what she leaves you with is little breath. Her knack for reading crowds is unmeasurable, as her eclectic taste in dance music will get everyone in the room moving. Its clear that Lauren enjoys her sets & doesn't consider it her "job". That comes across so evidently with the amount of fun you can tell she's having. It's infectious.
Ranging back from the 90's, Lauren Flax has shared the stage with so many. DJ Heather, Disco D, Carl Craig, Jungle Brothers, Green Velvet, Derrek May, Boy George, Miss Kitten, Moby, Adult., Curses!, SebastiAn, Ectomorph, Kevin Saunderson, Spank Rock, DJ Funk, Scissor Sisters, Juan Atkins, Flosstradamus, Santo Gold, Dayhota, Justice, Para One, Ellen Alien, Klaxons, Grand Master Flash, Passions!, Kap10kurt, Basement Jaxx, DJ Mehdi...the list goes on. An all too often amount of times, those attending such events that were unfamiliar with the name Lauren Flax often walked away remembering her most. Lauren has also DJ'd for none other than Madonna on the Hard Candy TV Special for the music channel, Fuse.
Lauren's production may be lesser know to the dance community, as its mostly used for film & television score. However she is concentrating on releasing a dance album in the near future. Lauren is also co-producing for the band, DREAMBURGER which was recently signed to IHEARTCOMIX, owned by Franki Chan in Los Angeles. The production Lauren accomplishes is quite like her style of DJ: Eclectic. Ranging from all stringed instruments & orchestrals to Dark Synths, Kitschy vocals & crunchy beats. Le Tigre & Morningwood are two remixes under her belt. Most recently, her HEARTSREVOLUTION remix of C.Y.O.A! was released on IHEARTCOMIX April 15th. Expect much more to come, including being a guest band memer for HEARTSREVOLUTION, who's currently on a world tour..
