Salsa DVD's Los Angeles Salsa DVD's

Salsa DVD's

Maybe you find yourself feeling a little too shy to take that first salsa lesson. Or, you've got such a busy schedule that you can't even imagine carving out enough free time to get to a class. Whatever your reason may be, have no fear, because nowadays it's incredibly easy to find a good Salsa DVD's. Begin learning the basics or fine-tuning your existing dance skills in the comfort and privacy of your very own home.

The market for salsa DVD's and DVD's has grown tremendously in recent years, and covers the major styles: Cuban, New York, Los Angeles and Mixed/Fusion. Salsa DVD's range in skill level, covering the spectrum from novice to advanced, so there is something available for everyone. These variations do mean, however, that you need to read the back of each video carefully to make sure you purchase one that is appropriate to your skill level and dancing desires. For the most part the DVD's will use the same basic structures, utilizing step-by-step instruction and demonstration to teach the dance. They will diverge on the skill level of the steps they teach you, the movements growing more complex as you progress to higher levels. Beginner DVD's teach you the basic elements of the salsa, focusing on footwork, posture and other fundamental concepts. Progressing through intermediate and advanced lessons, you will hone in on technique and then learn the little "extras" that can make a salsa flashy: Lifts, tricks, dips and other complex movements.

Another option in the Salsa DVD's market takes salsa and fitness to a different level: Salsa Aerobics. Salsa Aerobics and Latin exercise DVD's actually combine elements of the dance with other workout techniques.  The overall goal of these tapes is health and fitness, but all of the exercises are based on the spicy movements of the salsa. Of course, the workout is set to hot salsa music to maintain a lively pace. This style of Salsa DVD's also offers something for every skill level. For those who have never taken salsa lessons, the video is a chance to start experiencing this saucy, fun method of dancing. It also is a great alternative to the average workout for people who are practiced salsa dancers.

A Salsa DVD's is a fantastic way to start emerging yourself in the sizzling world of salsa. When you feel ready though, check out a 6 hour salsa boot camp at LearnSalsa.com!

When you go to any salsa club the people are always nice and friendly.  There is no jealousy or animosity.  Only people who share dance secrets; and share super special dance steps with their new friends and partners.  People dance with each other and try out new routines.  Salsa is the dance for friendly people.  Salsa Clubs are where these people come together.  I love salsa Clubs.  They are where I spend most of my time.  As a professional salsa dancer myself, you would be surprised at how much I learn from the people in these salsa Clubs.

Salsa Tips & 6 hour Salsa Bootcamp
Current mood: amused

6 Hour Salsa Bootcamp

Salsa tips

Whether you're a salsa "newbie" or a veteran dancer, and extra salsa tips can always come in handy. Maybe you find that your timing is a bit off; or, that no matter how often you practice that one step, you can't get it quite right. Whatever your skill level may be, each salsa tips is sure to give you a helping hand, or at least provide a friendly reminder.

  • Smile until it hurts! Smiling makes you and the people around you feel good. It's the surefire way to help reduce jitters, label you an inviting dance partner, and make you look even sexier than you already are. And hey, don't limit these salsa tips to just the classroom or dance floor!
  • Count out loud if you need to. Everyone is still learning at some level, and odds are that someone else in the class has been (or is) in your shoes. If counting out loud will help you keep in time with the music, then do it, and do it proudly!
  • Don't just dance to the music—listen to it and feel the rhythm. Following the music and hearing the beats allow you to mimic the instruments and move your body accordingly. Sway with the rhythm and bump your hip on that strong conga beat. This salsa tips is one of the secrets to looking sensual and stylish while you dance.
  • Be sure both partners know who the leader is. The thing with partner dances is that one person is leading while the other person follows—otherwise, disaster can hit. Without a clear distinction, you'll find resistance between one another's steps and you won't move smoothly. Being the follower does mean working with the leader, but doesn't mean that you shouldn't speak up if you find anything inappropriate or uncomfortable happening during your salsa.
  • Watch what you wear. Regardless of what type of attire you think is best to wear for salsa, the bottom line if that it should be comfortable and functional. These salsa tips is important for any occasion, including lessons and nights out. If your outfit is too restrictive in anyway, it can seriously affect how you move while you dance. Who wants to salsa with a grimace on their face because his/her bottoms are too tight? Make sure that whatever you wear allows your body to move freely. This salsa tips goes from you head to your toes: You don't want shoes that are too big, too small or too worn, because you may hurt your feet or look clumsy on the dance floor.
  • Practice makes perfect. I'm sure you may be sick of hearing this age-old adage, but it rings true for many things in life, including the salsa! Even masters continue to practice, as you can always tweak something—whether it is style, posture or technique! It can be exhausting and frustrating, but practice is also rewarding, not to mention beneficial to your health.

So, are you ready to start practicing? Then check out the 6 hour boot camp at http://www.LearnSalsa.com!

Salsa Dancing Steps

Salsa Dancing Steps  are a lot of fun.  These Salsa Dancing Steps  are based on various "beats" in the music.  For instance, beat "2", "3" or "4" represent the second, third and fourth beat in the music.  The way these Salsa Dancing Steps  fit into the music is called "step timing" or just plain "timing".   These Salsa Dancing Steps can be danced in various ways, based on this timing.  The dancers must keep the proper "cadence" (or timing to the music).

Like any other form of music, the rhythm and the melody of salsa music are crucial factors.  In salsa music, the rhythm and the melody are "syncopated" (off beat) from one another.  Salsa music is often written in a "4 beat per measure" timing signature.  In Salsa Dancing Steps steps, the dancers use two measures of the music to complete one dance cycle.  One measure is used for the left side and the other is used for the right side.

In Salsa Dancing Steps , the man is usually the "leader" and the woman is usually the "follower".  The leader and the follower, when dancing together, are known as dance partners.  The man guides the woman by giving her "claves" (nudges).  These little reminders let the follower know when to cross, turn, dip etc.  There is so much more to learn about Salsa Dancing Steps steps.  That's why it's important that you visit the people at Learn Salsa.  They can teach you everything you need to know, in order to become a perfect Salsa Dancing Steps.  You can find out more at: www.learnsalsa.com.  Who knows, you might even create your own Salsa Dancing Steps .

Salsa Dancing and Learn Salsa with LearnSalsa.com

Salsa Dancing

In my opinion, Salsa Dancing is going to be explosive.  Just over the last 10 years, salsa dancing has grown in leaps and bounds.  Many salsa clubs have opened up around the world. Across the globe, people are learning to salsa dance.  In Europe, the salsa craze is in full swing.  In Latin America, salsa is one of the biggest forms of dance.  In the United States alone, there are many nightclubs in every city, devoted entirely to salsa.  There are also many dance studios that are in business, solely to teach people how to salsa dance.  This all makes Salsa Dancing very bright.

Salsa Dancing is probably going to be the biggest, right here in the U.S.A.  Thousands of people learn to salsa each year.  If packed salsa clubs each weekend are any indication, then Salsa Dancing looks to be extremely profitable.  Salsa clothing, salsa music and salsa dance contests are all part of salsa's huge success, throughout the world.  Salsa Dancing will probably involve more interest from the media.  Dancing shows on television, in general, are becoming more and more popular.

It wouldn't at all surprise me, if we didn't see more and more television shows devoted entirely to salsa.  An important source to learn about Salsa Dancing is Learn Salsa.  They teach thousands how to salsa dance each year.  At Learn Salsa, you can learn from the best.  Then you can get out there and hit the salsa dance floor yourself.  Visit: www.learnsalsa.com.  Who knows, maybe Salsa Dancing lies inside of you!

Salsa Trend by LearnSalsa.com
Category: Blogging

Salsa Trend

There is no trend bigger than the salsa trend.  Salsa is so big that groups of people go out everyday to salsa.  Those who aren't hip to the salsa trend feel left out.  They have to sit in the salsa club and watch everyone else have fun.  That's because they failed to participate in the salsa trend (by learning how to salsa dance).  Please don't try to dance on a salsa floor without dancing salsa.  Others will look at you in amazement.  Girls probably won't waste their time, since you obviously didn't spend enough of your own time learning the salsa trend.

The salsa trend is growing.  Many young people are foregoing Top-40, R&B and Hip-Hop music to hit the salsa dance floor….following the ever growing salsa trend.  You can see the salsa trend on television.  You can also hear about new salsa clubs opening on the radio.  Your parents, friends and other relatives all salsa (or they want to learn how).  Websites and books are devoted to helping others learn how to salsa.  Young men are learning; solely because they know it will help them get closer to the opposite sex.

The best website for learning about salsa is Learn Salsa.  At Learn Salsa they can teach you how to salsa dance, in just a short period of time.  Now you too can get out on the dance floor, instead of just watching your friends have all the fun.  That cute girl you had you eye on might even still be there.  Now you can grab her hand and take her out on the floor.  Aren't you glad you visited: www.learnsalsa.com?  If you like, you can tell her you learned all those sexy moves on your own!

Salsa Etiquette by LearnSalsa.com

Salsa Etiquette

So—you're about to go to your first salsa lesson. You've got the right shoes, the right clothes; you've even got an extra bottle of water with you.  As you walk up to the dance hall you think to yourself, "I'm completely prepared, right?"

Then come the jitters. Did I bring everything I was supposed to? What should I do when I get in? How do I interact with the other dancers? Are there things I'm supposed to do, or not supposed to do? What if I offend somebody?!

Before your brain goes into overdrive, stop and review these next few pieces of salsa etiquette. And remember, these points are good to follow whether in a class or out for a night of dancing on the town!

  • First and foremost, personal hygiene is a MUST! Salsa dancing puts you in very close proximity with another human being—maybe even multiple if you're in a large class (or a lively club)! This means body odor, bad breath and clothes that haven't been washed in weeks are a no-no. Deodorant is important as well, especially when you consider that you may be sweating up a storm during your lesson. Salsa etiquette says: Shower, brush your teeth and wear deodorant.
  • Being friendly is more than just an icebreaker—it can affect how you're perceived in class. It's considered rude to decline a dance partner or to be disrespectful of your partner while dancing. This means keep your eyes on your partner's face, as opposed to other parts of his/her body. Dancing is about communication, making eye contact even more important. Also, unless you came with a partner, don't hesitate to ask anybody and everybody to dance! In salsa, "the more, the merrier" is an active concept. Salsa etiquette says: Dance with lots of people, but keep your focus on your partner when dancing.
  • Be aware of personal space. Nothing can destroy a mood on the dance floor like a couple that keeps bumping into everyone else! If the dance floor is crowded, then dance small. You don't need to be bouncing one another around the dance floor like a ball and paddle to have a good time. Constant collisions aren't just a bother—they could potentially be seen as an ego thing or lack of dance etiquette. Salsa Etiquette says: Be respectful of other dancers and share the floor.

Now, take a deep breath, smile, and walk into class knowing that you got this under control! Haven't signed up for a class yet? Well then, keep these salsa etiquette tidbits in mind and check out the 6 hour salsa boot camp at LearnSalsa.com!
