hello folks,
I hope you are having a good summer. My summer has been very spaced out and uneventful, but I am trying to be productive.
This past month, I have gotten back into recording -- including sprucing up some existing song recordings, and recording songs which ain't been recorded yet. For those who enjoy sarcasm with a Texas swing beat, there's a new recording of "Twenty-three Six" on my website -- leequick.com. Also a new "This Endless Road", a revised "Not Okay", and "The Black Line" with a new vocal. Soon, you may also get "After The Storm" with bassoon added. (Well, the bassoon has to be good for something other than Beethoven.)
Stay tuned for new recordings of 5 songs from my first CD, including "Bored To Hell" and "In This World" with new-and-improved lyrics.
I’m somewhere in Christmas At Belmont on PBS...

Yes, you may see me on TV in "Christmas at Belmont", airing on your local PBS stations Christmas Eve Dec 24 (9pm CST) and Christmas Day Dec 25 (noon CST). I'm one of 2 bassoon players in the orchestra (and I'm not the male one).
I'm sitting center stage the entire program, but the best time to look is in the first 10 minutes. Have fun trying to spot me! Make it a "Find the Bassoonist Party"! The bassoon sticks up above my head and has a white ring at the top, so even if you're drunk it shouldn't be too hard to find.
In Nashville, the show also airs this Thursday, Dec. 20 at 8pm CST, so have your egg nog ready and enjoy a very diverse and entertaining show.
happy holidays Lisa "Lee" Quick http://leequick.com
The "Christmas at Belmont" concert is a holiday tradition at Belmont University in Nashville, where the School of Music features outstanding choral and instrumental ensembles that have received high praise nationally and internationally. This year, the annual concert comes from Nashville's new Schermerhorn Symphony Center as American Idol finalist Melinda Doolittle hosts a festive musical collage that includes a Christmas repertoire ranging from traditional carols to classical masterworks to lighthearted secular songs.
I just got the Strangers With Candy DVD set (complete series) with bonus features.
It has changed my life and made me a better person. Well... it has at least made me laugh.
I have now got it bad for Stephen Colbert. Damn, he is hot. I'm sure his wife is very nice... maybe she likes girls too? That would REALLY make my Christmas.

PRESS RELEASE INFO: Although it's been over two years since Hurricane Katrina devastated the Gulf Coast region, thousands of families remain displaced, living in substandard conditions and wondering when they can begin the long process of rebuilding their lives. The Nashville community has stepped forward to lend a hand and a hammer by building a "Home-in-a-Box" as part of Habitat for Humanity's program. On Tuesday, October 30th, one hundred-plus community volunteers will meet at the Texas Roadhouse at 1039 Glenbrook Way in Hendersonville, TN, to build, frame, outfit and ship a 1,100 square-foot house to a housing development called Musician's Village in New Orleans.
The Homes-in-a-Box program, an initiative between Texas Roadhouse and Habitat for Humanity, unites Texas Roadhouse employees with community volunteers to fund, frame, outfit and ship 1,300-square- foot homes to the Gulf Coast.
