The Road goes on forever...
...the party never ends.
Tomorrow starts another road trip. I'm moving back to Ohio, but taking lots of time and a roundabout scenic route for the long ride home. Layovers include Crater Lake in Oregon, Glacier National Park in Montana, Waterton Lakes National Park (Canadian) in Alberta; and Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks which sprawl through Montana, Idaho and Wyoming.
Hope to post a few photos from the road but I expect cell service and computer hot spots will be few and far between in some of these areas.
Wish me luck for fair weather, safe highways and non-aggressive bears.

Now it's all decided to blow our minds But our minds won't really be blown Like the blow that'll gitcha when you get your picture On the cover of the rollin stone....
one of my shots is on the cover of a magazine this month.
when i was in the marine corps i had articles published all over the place but it's been a very long time since i've done that type of work.
okay it wasn't Rolling Stone....
and it wasn't the whole cover....
(wanna see our pictures on the cover)
and sure, it was targeted at the porn industry...
and it was just a head shot....
(wanna buy five copies for our mothers)

Fire
Wild day in my neighborhood today. If you haven't heard, southern California is on fire. Today I watched from my balcony. I live in the middle of what turned into one of the largest fires that burned here today. 12,000 acres, 25 structures (mostly homes), and 4 people injured. Scarey stuff. Some time this afternoon I noticed smoke above the hills across the street from our house. Gradually it worsened and we started seeing the orange flames nearing the top of the hill. The Santa Anna winds were incredibly strong and it didn't take long before the fire was tearing down the hillside toward the homes at the bottom. The neighborhood literally filled up with firefighters, police, utility workers. We probably had over 200 emergency vehicles pass our house today. Sirens all day long. Small planes and helicopters dropped water all afternoon. (I think the helicopters may still be flying.) I saw several stupid drivers get in the way of emergency vehicles today. How stupid are people some times? I also saw a couple caravans of horse trailers going up Sierra today, obviously getiing the animals out of the nearby canyons which are on fire too. My neighbors all poured out of their homes to watch the goings-on. A couple of news crews were set up at the Moose Lodge a block up the street. Everyone was taking photos....mostly with cell phones. If it wasn't so smokey, it could have been a carnival. The fires would die down and make you think they were out, then suddenly the wind would kick up and the flames would shoot up 50 to 100 feet in the air. Cinders scattered everywhere. Chilling to watch after dark. My roommate, Charlie, walked across the street and up the hill to check on an elderly couple who live over there. Fortunately, they had already gotten out, but while he was there Charlie helped out another guy. They tried to clear some brush near a construction trailer halfway up the hill. Couldn't do it fast enough and the fire finally got the better of them and took the trailer. It also took a storage shed which set off a large explosion. I was watching from the balcony and saw two silhouettes running down the hill after the explosion....didn't know at the time it was my crazy roommate. The fire went crazy after that. The whole hillside seemed to take off in flames and the firefighters showed up in droves. And they did a fuckin amazing job. None of the homes across the street burned. (And there's probably 1,000 over there.) They managed to put out the biggest part of it fairly quickly. Right now you can still see a few hot spots over there and the firefighters are still working at it. Thousands of people have been evacuated from the neighborhoods surrounding mine. A lot of the fires here in Canyon Country are still out of control and the winds are supposed to kick up very strong again in the morning so we may not have seen the worst of this yet. If the fire jumps across Sierra Highway overnight, my house could be in danger too. We'll see what tomorrow brings.

What I’ve been up to....
Category: Art and Photography
I've been kinda busy lately. I was traveling last week and got some nice photos (imo). I'll post some once I get a chance to go through a few more of them.
Yesterday I got to shoot Tera Patrick. She's a sweetheart and (not to mention) gorgeous.

I can't show you a lot of the shots because of the content, but Jimmy was gonna post one or two on his blog if you're curious. Jimmy's BlogThis is Tera and Chopper. He's a sweetheart too. The pastie was applied in post. Hopefully I'll pass the censors. For the past two weeks I've been working on wedding photos (at Caesar's in Vegas) and a bunch of scenics from Death Valley, the Grand Canyon, Zion and Bryce Canyon. It was a great trip and I'm really proud of some of the stuff I shot.
