ANOTHER NEW SONG!
We have just added another new song, "Nobody Knows", to our profile. It'll be the first song that plays when you visit our profile, so click on over and check it out.
Unfortunately, we had to toss one of our other songs – "Vacation" to be specific – off the MySpace player to make room for the track. But don't fret – it still lives online. You can always listen to it on our PureVolume page, which can be found at:
www.purevolume.com/lemondropkick
Don't forget to check out our upcoming shows, new photos and other new blogs so that you can be up to date on all things Lemon Drop Kick.
Enough of our ranting – check out the new song and let us know what you think!

Lemon Drop Kick’s Super Number One Fan
Wow… we've here to write a blog about our super number one fan Seido… but… wow. Words just escape us at this time, so we'll get right to the point.
Our friend Seido went and tattooed the Lemon Drop Kick hiragana logo on his leg – check it out:

We're honestly at a loss for words. This is cool – very cool, and mere words can't even describe excited/stoked/amazed we are that someone likes us enough to make LDK a permanent part of their lives. We know we're awesome, we just didn't know that we were that awesome.
To say that we owe Seido our gratitude would be an understatement. Besides free LDK shows/merch/whatever for life, we don't know how we can thank the man who likes us enough to get a LDK tattoo. We're all still kind of in shock about it all. Our brains need time to process the radness of this tat, so we'll start things off with a simple printed "thank you". We owe the man a drink or something at the next show…

New Photos!!
As we clean out the numerous memory cards we have lying around, we are finding some really sweet LDK photos that we haven't yet shared with anyone.
That changes today, as we added a ton of new photos to our LDK MySpace page.
We've got new photos from our Japan tour (with guest cameos by Berry Roll, Witchery SKANK and Skullcandy), photos of us recording with the great Billie Stevens, and even a photo or two of cake!
Yes, it's all exciting stuff, so check 'em out already.

Sony Style - Justin’s Take
A few of you are familiar with Sony's "Grab Your Japanese Dream" audition. Apparently this was one of the first major auditions Sony Music Japan held on foreign soil… or something like that. Either way, these auditions are HUGE in Japan, and it was pretty big news that Sony would be holding one of these auditions in the United States. And in Los Angeles, too – our very own back yard.
We don't know how many people submitted an audition application, but Lemon Drop Kick was one of the (very) few privileged groups to be asked to audition – in person – for Sony Music Japan. To say that we were excited would be a huge understatement – we would be auditioning for Sony!
It was interesting to see the types of acts that Sony picked to advance to the second stage. No two acts were alike. At all. There was us, a RHCP-inspired funk band (with two dudes from the very naked Funky A), a couple singer-songwriters, our friend Hana from Cozy in the Woods, a J-R&B diva and some classical guitarists from somewhere in Europe – to name just a few.
The fact that the acts were so wildly different – plus the fact that this audition was in no way a competition – made for a relatively relaxed atmosphere. Everyone was free to be themselves and perform their best without the need to try and "one up" the other. That doesn't mean that things were totally smooth sailing.
Things were tougher for me as I had a business trip in Las Vegas the entire weekend. So I did a couple of days in Vegas, drove back to L.A. for the audition, and flew back to Vegas so that I could finish my job. I'm still trying to find some time to sleep as I have two more business trips coming up in the next few days.
Being a drummer, the audition was extra-challenging to me as I couldn't tear down the drums and position them in a way that was fully comfortable for me. The heights of everything was different; I had drums where I usually have space; and some of my cymbals felt way out of reach. Oh – I also broke a stick in the middle of the first song. In my mind, I really feel as if I could have done a lot better, but the rest of LDK is telling me that I was totally "on" for the entire audition. If the band couldn't sense any mistakes from me, I guess I'll have to convince myself that things went all right.
The Sony representatives also seemed to be extra-inquisitive during the interview process of the audition – which is a very good thing, I'm told. We won't find out anything until sometime in September, maybe… If Sony contacts us, it means that they liked us. If we hear nothing… well… we guess it means we'll have to keep plugging along.
Whatever happens, I still walk away from the whole experience with a positive feeling. The fact that we were asked to come audition in person means that Sony liked us enough to want to see us and talk with us about the possibility of working together. It is a form of validation, and it definitely means that we as a band are doing something right.
Hopefully we'll hear something soon, get a bit of tour support and make it over to your town.

OMG! New LDK Songs!
Yes, after what seems like an eternity of not doing anything, LDK has finally gotten around to posting some new songs up. Click on our main page to enjoy the sonic pleasure that is "taisetsu na mono" and "Make Her Clean".
Yes, we know that by adding these songs, we totally mess up that "This song is kicking your ass" image. But we're doing MySpace stuff rather than work, so we'll get around to fixing the images when we get home.
The MySpace player sounds kind of crappy. If you want a higher-quality stream, check out our PureVolume page:
www.purevolume.com/lemondropkick
Enjoy! And more songs to come soon!
