Enlightenment Hit Me!

So I am leaving on Thursday at 6am to go sailing on a private sailboat with my family...the only time I go on good vacations anymore are at their expense. Anywho, I started thinking the last time I went on a vacation like this I came home and quit my job the next day...then moved to Nashville within 3 months. It is funny how when you can remove yourself from the day to day drag we call life things can take on a new perspective and be so much easier to manage. I am in such a good place in my life, I am very excited to see what kind of revelations I have over the course of 7 days on the open sea. Maybe the revelation will merely be an appreciation of where I am, or maybe there is always room for improvement. Maybe amidst my day to day there are a couple of things that need to be reworked....I would say so.

The Ostrich Era

Jesus man, the news is enough to make me want to do a swandive off my porch and land head first in a shot glass full of cement. I think that the last 7+ years of our country's legacy shall be titled "The Ostrich Era." The ostrich is a truly amazing creature...strong, fast, unique and stoopid. When faced with adversity they stick their head in a hole. Kinda feels like that is what has been going on and everyone recently came up for air. Now, finally now they want to FREAK the FUCK out. Where have you been this whole time? It is as if the state of emergency the US has created is some huge mystery that came out of nowhere. You couldn't see this coming a mile away? This is our bed that we have made, so we must lay in it. One a lighter note, my life honestly could not be better unless the toothfairy ascended from the heavens with $20k and a vacation for two.

Let's hope for Obama and Clinton on the same ticket. Time to unite.

Ho hum...it's Friday. Mojitos, scrilla and good vibes. Kinda caught myself being a puss over something so insignificant...thank goodness I have strong folks in my life to let me feel whatever, but snap my booty back in check. Perspective...do the right thing and keep your heart full of love and integrity. You will always rise to the top if you follow the mantra. SXSW

OK...I was pretty upset when I found out I could not go to South By this year, but in retrospect I am really glad I am not there. I have been keeping up with the coverage and so here’s my list of why I am ok with being at home this weekend:

1) All my skinny jeans are dirty, so I would have had to do laundry to go. ;)

2) I had the pleasure of hanging with 3 of the most beautiful people ever last night. Amazing food, wine, conversation and love. What more can you really ask for out of an evening or life actually?

3) I have my apartment to myself this weekend to prance around nekid, take hot baths with the door open and music blaring, lounge, read or listening to sappy music alone. Did I mention it is raining? Perfect!

4) I have all the CDs of the bands I wanted to see, so I can hit fast forward through the filler without having to stand in line all night to get into a mediocre show because the band I want to see has already played 3 showcases that day. Therefore, they are not able to play their best show which is the only thing I can accept. Period. I am a snob I suppose.

5) I plan on attended Bonnaroo and maybe Coachella, so I will have the opp to see most of them. I mean Metallica? Come on...yack!

6) My bed is the most amazing hang in Nashville. No doubt...ask around town.

7) I love to watch my cats lick their butts.

8) I have cooked every meal at home this weekend so far with no end in sight.

9) I do not have the desire to be around a bunch of drunk assholes. Unless of course they are my friends...none of them are at SXSW, so refer to the aformentioned.

10) French pressed coffee all day today.

11) I would spend WAY too much money, so I can save some scrillz for billz.

12) If the weather is good tomorrow I will get to play my first badminton game of the year. I love the cock...shuttle that is.

13) PBR tastes better in Nashville...I can not figure this out for the life of me!

14) I plan to lay in bed most of the day tomorrow. Refer to 6...but will depart from bed only for 12. Period.

15) I am enjoying my time alone more than ever right now...ponder, ponder.
