GOOD AND BAD
Current mood: too early to be in any mood

In general thought and life the ’good’ do what they are supposed to do and the ’bad’ do what they aren’t. You see the ’bad boy’ with his drugs and so on and you see the ’good boy’ studying, working hard and going home on time.

But... let’s dig deeper. What is the idea of ’good?’ and what is the idea of ’bad?’

The definition of ’good’ in my dictionary is ’indicates that something is approved of or desirable.’ and ’being kind and generous,’ and ’giving pleasure and comfort.’ Ahhh... here they are, the definitions which interest me, ’well behaved and obedient.’ and ’socially correct’.

’Bad’ is defined as ’evil,, wrong or immoral behaviour.’ also ’characterized by anger and unpleasantness towards other people.’ For some reason this dictionary doesn’t say ’socially incorrect behaviour’ and I would expect it to, odd.

Anyhow, I think we can all agree that when you see a young child and they are told they are a good boy or girl, it normally refers to the fact they have just done what they are ’supposed’ to have done. And when they are told they are bad they are being told, in fact, that they have broken some agreed, socially correct rule.

I saw a mother the other day, she came out of the supermarket, calling for her three year old son. He’d wandered off, about twenty meters away from her, past the traffic lanes, she screamed after him, he turned around, with a smile on his face, she called him back, he skipped back to her and she began berating him daring to run off. I think she must have missed that he had a smile the entire time she was yelling at him. Now, if you have a grown up and they are smiling at you as you tell them off for something, you know they are not taking it in, they dont care how you feel, but somehow this went over her head when she was berating her child. But my point is that he knew the rules, knew her rules anyway and he was intentionally breaking them.

If society has a definition of good as being ’someone who does what they are supposed to do’ then all of society is lost, because in modern society we are not supposed to raise our heads and shout out against the powers that be. Today we see people talking out, against the war in Iraq, but a few years ago the Dixie Chicks were boycotted right across the US for daring to speak out against the president.

When a person is told he HAS to DO what is RIGHT! Then some will rebel, they will NOT stand for it. A child is told he CANNOT smoke, then he will smoke. A child is told he CANNOT talk about sex, then he will not only talk about it, he will also get involved with it. They are told NOT to drink, and how many teenagers don’t? Of course this does not apply to everyone, but it applies to most. If you restrict something, like talking about sex in England, then you will make people engage in that action - apparently England is statistically the most promiscuous country in Europe.

And SO people rebel and become bad boys and girls. They dont want to be good boys and girls. They know what that is, enslavement, they dont want that. And so they become ’bad’ they do what they want.

We see these definitions - good - doing what you are supposed to do. And - bad - not doing what you are supposed to do.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

If you want man not to think for himself, if you want man to be a slave, the best way is to drug him continually and get him involved in the vices - greed, sex, gambling and so on. Why? Because they take his attention off the world in which he lives and stick it to these subjects. There is nothing wrong with eating or sex - but taken to extreme, such as continual perversion and you find stuck attention and when you look at these people they are not really benefiting the world they live in. They become a slave to themselves and cannot help their friends and associates, for they justify their actions and their advice is twisted to make themselves right.

What actually happens is you start with a rebel, the child decides he doesn’t like his father hitting him and so he’s going to do all the things his father told him not to, he escapes out of the window, sleeps with the neighbour, goes to late night parties, etc, etc, but he winds up drugged, an alcoholic, with prostitutes and working a dead end job. This is NOT a rebel, NOT a bad boy, this is someone who is following a path society likes, for they are NOT questioning authority or attempting to change the future, they are someone who is quietly forgotten about.

If someone is good, they see what is wrong and they take some form of action to correct it, or they plan some action while they work on another project. But someone who is good does not stand idly around, they look, they see and they work to improve the world. Sometimes this involves acts of rebellion, sometimes it involves talking to people and getting them to change their mind, sometimes it involves going up against corrupt power consortiums and laying your own life on the line. It involves many things, but is always beneficial for man knows when he does wrong and only the very evil like it - and even they, in their dark hearts, are screaming and tearing at themselves, for they are basically good.

Bad has become the thing to be, but it is only the thing to be when someone has not looked at the consequences of those actions or where they lead. As soon as you know the path you are walking then being bad is not the thing. And being someone who obeys all the rules is not the thing either. But being someone who thinks for themselves, observes the world in which they live and decides where to walk, now this is the fellow who is truly good and will help man lead a happier, more fulfilling, better existence.

MY ANGEL
Category: Writing and Poetry

MY ANGEL

She turns her naked back,
Tenderly walks away,
I feel the slashing, beating rain,
Soaked to my soul,
I stare to the unguarded heavens, I cry.

Words of tender love,
Nibble my soft lobe,
Warm eyes scour my soul,
Turn aside the starched acid,
And let scented love persevere once more.

Shattered, my hopes anguished,
A startled scream echoes,
Shot, abandoned, abused, I ache,
For once touched by love,
I now stand beaten, torn, alone.

And as the sun rises I smile,
At dawn, I feel the touch of dew,
Yet, as night sets in,
At sundown, I caress her startled face,
Leaving her scent to linger in the mist.

SEX, DRUGS AND...
Current mood: amused
Category: Writing and Poetry

Okay, let's take a look at the bad boy, the rebel, the guy who apparently everyone wants to be. :-)

The young get into situations where they smoke, why? Because it's breaking the rules. They take drugs, sex, and alcohol? And when you ask them why? You always get the same answer - being a rebel, breaking the rules.

Alright, well, that's breaking the rules. It is, it's rebelling. But what effect does it have on society? Is it really rebellious? It's well known and documented that the CIA were distributors of LSD at Woodstock, and the Psychiatrists have been drugging people for years – hell they were the guys who introduced the world to many of the Class A drugs today – Heroin, Opium, etc – and their stated goal is the control of populations. So, you have to ask yourself, is drug taking and following the immoral route really rebelling? How many of these people have a wide effect on society? If you want to control a population the easiest way to do so is through drugging them. And as for random, casual sex, well, sure it burdens the mind and people who get involved in it, for some reason, find it hard to pull themselves out. Again, it fixates the attention and the person finds it hard to have a positive influence in the world in which he lives.

Society today tells people to drink, fuck, take drugs. It's pushed as the COOL thing everywhere. And yet, does it lead to happiness?

I dont believe that being a rebel consists of doing these things. People who get involved in drugs and random, casual sex cant think straight, they cant put together a decent set of thoughts which go like this, 'Okay, I am going to do A because I want to achieve B. I want to create an awesome new trend in society.' They go, 'What? My goals? I dont know. I had some once.' Or they go 'I'm going to do A so that...' And they never quite arrive. Or, they are simply unhappy.

A rebel is an individual who steps into society and changes it, takes it to new levels, influences it in some way. Music does it, art does it, the big business names do it - some of them are fucked up themselves and just fuck it up more. But the top guys, the guys at the very top of their profession, these are all guys who get the show on the road, it includes athletes. The guys at the top are honest, hard working, good people.

Am I advocating being a good boy? No. A good boy in modern society is one who sits in the corner and does nothing. But then what's a bad boy? One who sits in the corner, takes drugs, etc? No, everything you do influences others, you have to look at what influence you are having, because if it is destructive, you are harming people around you. This is no accusation, is this fact.

Being good doesn't mean being quiet, being good means taking a look around you, seeing what needs to change in society and doing something to bring about that change. And that's far more exciting than sex and drugs - simply because people who are addicted to these cant see further than their compulsions - and inside they are very lonely people. It doesn't matter how many friends they pretend they have, they are very much alone.

What I am advocating is this - rebel! Dont do the norm! Go the route of finding and chasing your goals. For then you can really bring about a change in society and create a civilization which thrives with life.

And don't get the wrong idea about life, it's that kindling spirit inside, that slow warmth that spreads through you when you begin to create something, when you see your goals begin to exist through your own hard work. Life is your love for man expressed in the world in which we live.

Okay? Make sense? Rebel – start a company, create a change in civilization, in life, in the environment in which you live - for that is really a rebel - he goes into society and changes it!

SOMETIMES....
Category: Writing and Poetry

SOMETIMES...

Sometimes,
We sea a tear,
We feel sorrow.

Sometimes,
A bird flies,
And we witness a birth.

Sometimes,
We travel far,
We journey with our heart.

Sometimes,
I see her cry,
I stroke her pretty face.

Sometimes,
A touch of grace,
A roses natural perfume.

Sometimes,
I smile, I laugh,
I live, I breathe, I touch the sky.

Sometimes...

WITHIN THE RAIN
Category: Writing and Poetry

A different type of writing. It's just a poem, not how I feel.

WITHIN THE RAIN

I search for my future,
Does it lie within my dreams,
Or in the gutter, in the street?

Sometimes I think I know,
Sometimes I wonder where,
The journey is winding, the walk tiring,

I see you, like a shadow in my distant memory,
Nagging, asking, seeking me out.
I doggedly walk away,

Into the shadows of my new life,
The life you taught me not to lead,
I take a step towards it every day,

Even in the summer, even in the spring,
I walk this path,
Away from the sunshine, into the gutter rain.

SMILE
Category: Writing and Poetry

SMILE

When the day dawns,
The sunshine shall be,
May I hold your hand,
Whisper sweet words in your ear,

For as the dawn stokes the sky,
I feel the warmth of the sun,
I know it's my heart I feel,
Caged within.

Do you smile at my fortune,
Do you laugh in dismay,
As I touch your lips,
I know tomorrow is gone.

And a tear breaks the sky.

THE SCENT OF SPRING
Category: Writing and Poetry

THE SCENT OF SPRING

Wander into the new day,
See the coming of the sun,
Witness the birth of dawn,
Feel the breath of air,
Touched by the essence of life,
Hear the wandering birds,

Gentle patter of the rain,
Flowers golden as corn,
Scent of spring,
Bluebells bloom,
The warmth of the sun,

Journey to the core of love,
Walk within its soul,
Kindle your heart,
And know life is young.

LOVE
Category: Writing and Poetry

This poem starts of dark, but it isn't a dark poem. Happy Valentine's day to you!!

LOVE

Pain,
Contention,
Suffering,
Loss,
Love!

I walk through the gloom,
In search of the gem,
For as I tread upon the path,
I hear words of wisdom pass,

A love lost is still love,
Some squander it in its shadows,
Some let it walk its own path,
Some die in search for it,
Some live with it in their veins,

As the tepid rain comes down,
I stand in the morbid past and wonder,
For a journey contains happiness,
Pain, loss, joy, love and contentment,
These and SO much more.

Love lies within the heart,
To give, to gain, to walk,
An essence, a gift,
Sundered it grows cold,
Tendered it thrives, as do our lives,

Love, for man, for friends, for family,
Loved ones disappear into the mist of the past,
Gone as gossamer in the wind,
Yet some remain, your foundation.

True love is not a moments passion,
Nor a fiery wish, a dreamt for future,
True love lies within your very soul,
As powerful as man!

True love can tear through cities,
Rip apart civilizations,
Sunder the very fabric of life,
Yet cared for, it is the building block.

Love…
A gift for you to give,
To whomever you may choose.
On this day of joy,
Let those you care for know.

RESPECT
Current mood: calm
Category: Blogging

Respect is a keynote to society.

If you respect people they will wear that respect and will grant you the same honour you give them.

Let's take a well-worn example – a businessman may be dishonourable in his personal life and yet he is respectable in his day-to-day work. He gets a lot done, has his head down and produces. People respect him and he feels dignity.

At the other side of the coin, if you take a prostitute and you treat her like garbage then she will look down upon you and treat you without respect. But if you treat her with respect, if you are personally interested in the girl, then she may still find it hard to be honest – simply because her life is steeped in dishonesty – but she will look kindly upon you and will respect you.

It's an odd thing to look at – but respect is more than just a keynote. If we respected each other, if man looked upon other men with honour and dignity then man would wear that and wear it with pride.

For it is only after pride has fallen that dignity and respect become lost. But by repairing dignity and respect and by once more pushing these qualities into society we see man once more becoming a proud member of the human race.

:-) Tom

PS: Life is kinda funny. It throws curveballs at you and you don't even know they're there. Was feeling rotten the last few days – and today handled something that had been sitting there, unhandled for two months. My GOD, what a fuckin relief!! And I had no idea it was tying me up like that – I thought it was something else entirely.

Yesterday’s blog
Category: Blogging

There were some fundamental things in the blog yesterday that I thought about and figured weren't quite right. So, I took it down. If you want to know specifics, ask.

Cheers, Tom
