SEND us your Letters Burning WARPED tour PICS!!!

SEND US your best Letters Burning Warped Tour Pics!!!

Oh my god Friday and Sunday at WARPED Tour was so much fun. Sometimes we forget how many of you we know so well and how many great and loving fans we have. In case you missed us heres a recap:

Friday, Gabe and I went down to meet some industry people and promote at Pomona Warped Tour. We thought we would have a merch booth but that fell through and we were forced to stick our homemade umbrella in the ground and sell our merch off the floor. This turned out to be lots of fun as gabe and I decided to wear our LB shirts and handout free BOOTY shorts to a bunch of girls. We got to handout tons of free download cards, make a lot of new friends and ended up selling tons of merch. We got to catch some of the bands...Norma Jean and Alesena were pretty cool.
After all that we decided to set-up our amp and play an acoustic show for everyone walking out. We ended up playing much longer than expected because so many people stuck around and watched us. The cops came several times and asked us to leave and of course we didnt until we finished our last few songs...one of the cops thought we were sorta funny cause we didnt stop and decided to dance to our music, it was great. Thank god we were able to bring in 2 gallons of water because it was the hottest day of my life but it was such a motivating experience and it made us anxious for sunday.

Sunday, we decided it would be kind of funny to wear our BOOTY shorts all day long. So we got dressed up in our pink shirts and blue BOOTY shorts and passed out tons of free download cards to everyone in line. There were so many people by the time we had to leave and get ready for our performance my voice was already tired. Thank god it was in ventura and by the ocean because it was about 20 degrees cooler than pomona. After promising hundreds of girls free BOOTY shorts we had gathered a huge crowd at our stage. We played a great and short set, 5 songs, but were shocked by the energy and loudness of the crowd. You guys were awesome. We got this really cool USB wristband from Unite the United that captures the audio of our whole show. I heard it and it sounds pretty cool especially when everyone was screaming. After that we spent the whole day meeting hundreds of great people, starting a fashion trend, and signing tons of cute BOOTYS. Towards the end of the day there were tons of guys and girls dressed just like us, it was so funny. I got to see a lot more bands and Gym Class Heros, Say Anything, Mayday Parade, Every Time I Die, Protest the Hero, and Panima were some of my favorites. We met a lot of great bands and it was fun hanging out backstage with some cool people. After a long day of promoting we decided it would be cool for us 4 to play the parking lot again. So we set up and played some songs and ended up meeting the guys from We spell disaster and they invited us to play a show that night at Experimental Cafe in Oxnard. Even though we were dead tired we couldnt resist. It was a really cool experience there and the sound was surprisingly amazing. We hung out there and celebrated and finally left really late.

Today, my white legs are burned so bad and I can barely talk but it was a great experience and Letters Burning would love to have you guys send us your best pics of us at Warped Tour.

Love ya,

TAL

UPDATE for our FANS!!!

Hey guys,

It’s been awhile since we’ve talked and I think its about time to let you know what is happening with our band. You may have noticed that we haven’t played shows for awhile and that is because Letters Burning has been really busy working out many things.

First of all there has been some changes, we have added a new drummer and Mark is now playing bass. I won’t get to specific on how this sounds or looks but trust me when I say we have never sounded this solid and tight. We are all really excited about our new sound and can’t wait to show you all at the next gig.

Also, we have been writing tons of new material and we are very confident that its the best music we have ever had. We will be posting some rough versions up soon so you guys can learn the lyrics and prepare for our shows. We are booking tons of shows now and we are ready to come back in full force.

We love you all and its been really hard being away from you guys so long. It was fun being at BAMBOOZLE and seeing lots of you there. Please don’t hesitate to say hello and comment our page. Check back daily as we are posting shows and we don’t want you to miss any.

Also, dont forget to vote for us to play WARPED tour and call KROQ every sunday night so we can be played on LOCALS ONLY.

See you all soon!!!

Is been forever...

I sit at home and its raining so hard outside, but  I love the sound. I was excited because I have already been snowboarding several times this season and thought I would go again this weekend but the rain is hard all the mountains are closed and MT High which is great when it snows just had an avalanche so I cant go.

Wow, so much has happened the past month. I was sick several times and have had tons of time to work on new music...we met up today and played some of our new stuff and it sounds amazing...we literally have enough material to ditch all our songs, but dont worry we wont...we will slowly bring them into our set and when we are ready we will go into recording. We are tighter than ever and motivated more than ever to create a sound that captures radio pop feel with serious upbeat attitude and energy, like we always do. Everyone has been wondering about shows, we have been holding off but some big shows may be in the works soon. I'm watching some murder investigation right now and its distracting me...but I will write again next week...stay tuned for updates...we will see you all soon.

Love you,
Tal

A FEW THINGS TO SAY TO YOU

I just wanted to say hi to everyone and apologize that I haven't been posting too many blogs lately, but you know how it is. Lots of great things have been happening with our band.

The last time I wrote I believe it was when Cory left our band. I knew that Letters Burning would be fine, but I never dreamed that we would be where we are now and that we would have such a tighter than ever sound. I mean we have put in a lot of sweaty man hours, especially poor Gabe but we really have pulled it off with flying colors. A few weeks after we became a 4some we landed an audition for BODOG Battle of the Bands which is basically a great opp for us to gain new fans and possibly get on TV again. Our next round is on Dec 10th and if we get in the top 3 we get to play SAN DIEGO House of Blues. We premiered a new acoustic song at the audition and it was the first time I played a guitar on stage in our band, it went great. Since then we have included the song in our sets and I really enjoy playing this song. The unnamed acoustic song touches on the feelings I have had transitioning into a new person during the last year and a half.

After landing the audition I left to PARIS and NY. I have never been so motivated to write and play music. I am so excited to be playing the upcoming shows and we have been gaining so many amazing new fans and I can't wait to see you all. Everyone who has stuck by us and made it possible for us to be on KROQ twice and supported us at the audition we really love you and thank you.

Recently we played a FIRE Victims benefit show sponsored by BIG SMILE magazine. It was held at this really unique place called the Clinic and it was a really fun and memorable night. They managed to collect like over two trashcans full of canned food.

We just finished printing a small limited batch of our California Song green t-shirts and will be giving them away to those of you who come to our Dec 10th show and vote for us.

We also have an incredible show coming up playing with a Heartwell Ending and Panima at the Chain Reaction on Dec 20th...you better be there!

Anyways, make sure you come to all our upcoming shows because we will be premiering a lot of new music for you guys...so stay tuned.

BODOG BATTLE (we made it to the next round!)
Current mood: chipper
Category: Music

So... we didn't tell any of you, but we auditioned for the BODOG battle of the bands last week, and we advanced to the next round, which will be in Hollywood at the world famous club Derby (remember the movie Swingers?) on December 10th.

Here's where you come in:  Audience votes count for 20% of the voting, and the rest comes from the judges.  After we win this round, we go on to the regional finals which will be held at the House of Blues in Anaheim.  Then, it goes to the nationwide finals and the top 10 bands compete on the FUSE TV show for a $1 million dollar recording contract.

We know we can do this, so please come and show your support, and bring all your friends.  If you can't come to the show, you can also vote for us online at www.bodogbattle.com

Secret Show PICS

We had the most amazing time at our Secret Show. We got to spend some real time with some of our fans and close friends. It was something real special and everyone who was there could tell you how cool the night was. We took requests all night long, crowned a Letters Burning Studio Queen, ordered bags and bags of Taco Bell, played some new songs and improvised some music, ate lollypops and had a one on one interview with everyone there. That was one of the happiest days I have had playing in our band and it was inspiring to see how much love we give and get from our fans. We also let everyone know that one of our founding members, Cory, will no longer be in the band. He will be moving down to Tennessee to be with his girlfriend and we wish him well. After much discussion Letters Burning decided that we would continue as a 4 piece and prefer to continue our music and songs with Gabe playing lead guitar. This also means that I will occasionally pick a guitar up and share some of my geetar ;) skills. What you can expect from our new line-up is amazing kick ass songs, even more energetic shows, radio and tv hits, bigger and badder shows...those of you who were wondering we had to cancel our mini tour this month do to the little change...but dont worry we will be playing our RECORD RELEASE show this wednesday and we are booking tons of shows right now!!!
So anyways, we love you all and hope to see all your love and support and our upcoming shows...hope to see you on wendesday in your scariest or cutest costumes.

P.S. Please dont forget to bother KROQ about us.

Warped San Diego/L.A.! (Pics)
Current mood: sore
Category: Pets and Animals

we just got back from the san diego and l.a. warped tours... met so many amazing people, saw so many amazing bands, got our fill of free hugs, and had a great time. except that i'm rocking a wicked sunburn right now (stupid crappy sunblock!)...

chiodos was awesome, and coheed and cambria was sooo tight. the almost played a strong set both nights, and red jumpsuit apparatus was great too, though their singer seemed tired in l.a.

like tal said in an earlier blog, we liked so many of the bands we saw, but we left feeling really lucky to be in such an awesome band ourselves, and we appreciate all those of you who heard our music at warped and told us how much you liked it, and those of you who even offered to help out, you guys mean so much to us...

for those of you reading this who we talked to or took pictures with, send us a message, we loved meeting you all and want to talk more about mormon stickers slapped on inappropriate places, horrible growths disguised as sunburns, caution tape warning people about naughty girls, and the fun of marine boot camp ;)

don't forget about our contest to play a private party for you and your friends, details are in an earlier blog entry... see you this saturday at the alley in fullerton...

Win a FREE Show With Letters Burning Contest!

So, I wanted to write a really long blog cause I haven't for awhile but I am about to go to sound check for our show tonight at Universal Citywalk. Its been a great week and we were on 103.1 indie a few days ago promoting this show...its gonna be so much fun.

We are launching a new contest for all our real fans. The prize is a free Letters Burning show for you and your friends. Here are the details to win:

There are three ways to win (remember if you do more than one of them it may help your chances)

1) Tell all your friends on myspace to add any one of our songs to their profile and its on you to send us a link to their page....they have to keep the song there until the contest is over (we will check)

2) Have anyone who isn't a Letters Burning friend add us and let us know that they were referred by you. (the more friends the better your chances and you can add new friends to your profile and have them add us as well)

3) Put up a comment on our page with a picture of you promoting our band (this really shows creativity because you can show this anyway you want, most original helps)

So that is all...the contest starts today and we will be passing out cards reminding you about the contest at our shows. This is a real contest and we take it seriously and there will be a real winner...the contest will go on till September!

GOOD LUCK!!!
