Your HISTORY Happening Now
Current mood: accomplished
A Blackman is rewriting our history books right now. Never before in a world dominated by European traditions/laws/views etc. has an African American man been elected to such a position in world history.
Our Democratic Presidential nominee BARACK OBAMA. Breathtaking.
No matter your party preference, you want change. You can feel it in the air, you now have five months to do your homework and mourn the other candidates defeat. Do some soul searching for real. The Manchurian Candidate McCain is not the answer.
Today is the first day of the rest of your life.

Can You Live Without Your Radio???
Current mood: curious
Category: Music
For the past few days I've been hearing from several people that a radio station here in Portland called Jammin' 95.5 is going off the air. Most cities have a Hot... or Jammin'... radio station or something similar. So, you don't have to be from The 503 to have an opinion. I'm curious about what you all have to say about this.
What if this happens in your city? What do yo think about it happening here?
Get at us...

Sold Out!!!
Current mood: accomplished
Category: Music
Real Quick...
I want to say thanks to the town for showing up and showing out at The Doug Fir show. It was our first show performing the songs from both albums with a live band and it was officially "SOLD OUT"!!! SOLD OUT!!! SOLD OUT!!! Did I mention it was SOLD OUT!!! Yeah! Congratulations Portland!!! Let’s do it again!
The feedback has been great. Thanks for all of the messages and comments.
It’s dope to perform with a live band. You have to respect the people who do it and do it well. It takes a lot of work. Work that we’re all willing to put in to make it even better the next time. I keep saying the next time because WE HAVE TO DO THAT AGAIN SOON!!! How about in a month or so...
Big Up to Cool Nutz, DJ Chill, & DJ Kez for tearin’ it down! All of the family and friends that came through. Especially the band... Tony, Sedell. AG, Kev, Chaka, Adrienne, Kiki, and Jenea.
Most of all, PORTLAND!!! Feels good to be home!
Lifesavas & The Incredibles Part 2 coming soon....

Lifesavas With A Live Band
Current mood: adventurous
Category: Music
Peace Everybody,
We're breakin' in a live band for the 08'. The launch is March 8th, 2008 at The Doug Fir. We got together "sick type click and went all out!!!" (see Enter The Wu-Tang) For real though, some of the towns dopest musicians are going to join us at The Doug Fir on March 8th to spark the beginning of a new chapter of LS Live.
We've been in the wood shed rehearsing all of the LS bangers. For those of you who have seen us with a Live Band, you know how much fun we have. It's crazy! For those of you who haven't ever been to "LS Unwrapped" YOU DONT WANT TO MISS THIS!!! "It's not you're average, everyday, 1, 2, to the beat and don't stop..." (see Mecca & The Soul Brother). TELL A FRIEND!!! If you show up and catch the vibe, we'll know this needs to happen more often. Dig?
Aight, here's the line up... We got my mans Chocolate Boy Wonder on The Keys, Tony Ozier on Bass and Drums, AG on Lead Guitar, and Kev on the Skins and Bass. All of these brothas do damage! It's been fun workin' with these cats.
Ooooh! Get Ready! Last but DEFINITELY not least... The ladies on vocals for the evening... Marckia (soprano), Adrienne (alto), and Jenea (tenor). One Love to our people Taka. The ladies are that somethin' special that takes it to that next level. It's always dope when the women are on stage blessin' us with that incredible harmony! You better ask somebody!
Man that's 7 people on stage and we ain't even mention LS on deck! Of course Libretto got to come touch sum'n. Wait until you hear what we did with the joint "Volume" that we all do together... Like my man Tony Ozier say "Big Tune!"
This is the first show we've done in a while with my man Cool Nutz. Portland Pioneer and... the list is too long to start, put it this way, he puts it down. We Go Way Back. Don't miss Cool Nutz and the World Famous DJ Chill. There's been many attempts to divide the Portland Hip Hop scene, but this is proof... We Good! So give it a rest.
It wouldn't be complete without DJ Kez on the 1's and 2's!!! Go to 360 Vinyl and get the good word from a true Hip Hop head. Then tune in to KBOO on Sunday's at 10pm and hear what radio should be playin'. Or Thursdays at The Fix with Shines, Ohmega, and Dun Diggy. Next catch Kez settin' the mood with LS on the regular especially March 8th, 2008 at The Doug Fir, 8pm. Whew!!! If you don't live in P.O. aka "razor blade city", hopefully we'll be able to bring the LS experience with live instrumentation to a town near you soon.
Stay tuned!
Vurs

Be About It
Current mood: flirty
Category: Goals, Plans, Hopes
Be About It...
Thought about changing your life? Maybe your lifestyle? What about your career?
Be About It and Accept The Good-
Subject: Why I fired my Secretary.
Why I fired my Secretary.
Last week was my birthday and I didn't feel very well waking up on that morning.
I went downstairs for breakfast hoping my wife would be pleasant and say, "Happy Birthday!", and possibly have a small present for me.
As it turned out, she barely said good morning, let alone "Happy Birthday."
I thought...
Aight, that's marriage for you, but the kids... They'll remember.
My kids came bouncing down stairs to breakfast and didn't say a word. Whoa! So when I left for the office, I felt pretty low as if I did'nt exist.
As I walked into my office, my secretary Shameeka said, "Good Morning Bossman, and by the way Happy Birthday ! " It felt a little better that at least someone had remembered.
I worked until one o'clock , when Shameeka knocked on my door and said, "You know what, It's such a beautiful day outside, and it is your Birthday, let's go out to lunch, just you and me." I said, "Thanks, Sha Sha, that's the best thing I've heard all day. Let's go!"
We went to lunch. But we didn't go where we normally would go. She chose instead a quiet bistro with a private table. We had two Crown Royals on ice each and I enjoyed the meal tremendously.
On the way back to the office, Shameeka said, "You know, It's such a beautiful day... We don't need to go straight back to the office, Do We ?"
I responded, "I guess not. What do you have in mind?" She said, "Let's drop by my apartment, it's just around the corner."
After arriving at her apartment, Shameeka turned to me and said, "Bossman, if you don't mind, I'm gonna step into the bedroom for just a moment. I'll be right back." "Yeah, Ok." I nervously replied.
She went into the bedroom and, after a couple of minutes, she came out carrying a huge birthday cake ... Followed by my wife, my kids, and dozens of my friends and co-workers, all singing "Happy Birthday".
And I just sat there...
On the couch...
Naked.

RESOLUTION=REVOLUTION!
Current mood: Humbled
Category: Humbled Life
Where my Geez at????!
Farnell you a true TRIPLE OG my friend..
Resolution- 1. a formal expression of opinion or intention made, usually after voting, by a formal organization, a legislature, a club, or other group. Compare concurrent resolution, joint resolution. 2. a resolve or determination: to make a firm resolution to do something. 3. the act of resolving or determining upon an action or course of action, method, procedure, etc. 4. the mental state or quality of being resolved or resolute; firmness of purpose. 5. the act or process of resolving or separating into constituent or elementary parts. 6. the resulting state. 7. Optics. the act, process, or capability of distinguishing between two separate but adjacent objects or sources of light or between two nearly equal wavelengths. Compare resolving power. 8. a solution, accommodation, or settling of a problem, controversy, etc. 9. Music. a. the progression of a voice part or of the harmony as a whole from a dissonance to a consonance. b. the tone or chord to which a dissonance is resolved. 10. reduction to a simpler form; conversion. 11. Medicine/Medical. the reduction or disappearance of a swelling or inflammation without suppuration. 12. the degree of sharpness of a computer-generated image as measured by the number of dots per linear inch in a hard-copy printout or the number of pixels across and down on a display screen.
Family 2007 has been an incredible ride, whatever you did or whoever you did -I hope you did the most.
Farnell(and any latecomers reading this) I have 5 resolutions rolled into 1. You see, this is why LS do what we do...my resolution for 2008 is more of this-
I thought to myself "Lifesavas...whatever. I hope they only play for half an hour...2 maybe 3 songs at the most. I hate rap concerts. They always yell so much you can't understand what their saying and they're so nasty...always swearing." I come from the days when rap had a message and just like reggae music and hawaiian music it commanded respect, told a story and inspired change.
You hit it! Lyrics with meaning that commands respect, tells a story and inspires change. Hot beats that were appealing to me and my girls. My 13 yr old daughter and my 15 yr old niece were hooked! "Mama I have to stay to buy the CD and I just have to meet them." Jumbo took individual pictures with each of my 3 girls and my 2 nieces, talked to the girls and autographed their newly bought CD's. They raved to their girlfriends at school about you. Then my girl says "Mama, pretty soon they're gonna get too big to hang w/ their fans after a show so I'm glad I got the chance to spend time with them before that happens."
What you did was allow my kids to see you as real people. When I looked at you on stage and after the show I could easily recognize your passion for what you do and the effort you put into it. I saw your appreciation for your audience and humility and I hope you hang on tight to that because soon, dear brothers, you'll be swept up into the typhoon known as the "industry" and you'll need an anchor to keep you firmly planted in your beliefs. Don't stray from your path to please others and always turn to God in times of need but especially in times of thanks and praise.
You have at least 20 young new fans in my kids and their friends and you even have the support of an old school 30+ year old mom.
Much love and respect to you and yours from Tucson! LeiLei, Savannah, Brandi, Maka, Lahela, and Mahina
HAPPY NEW YEAR 2008 THANK YOU FROM JUMBO,VURSATYL,SHINES AND DV 1 BARAK OBAMA FOR PRESIDENT
