APOLOGIES & AUCTION

I want to apologize to everyone who tried to click on any of the links that were broken or in error.  I've been posting this blog and bulletins with links and either I type them incorretly (always a possibility), cut and paste them in error (again, there's a real chance of this happening) or I can't navigate the myspace bulletins and this blog correctly as Myspace is very careful about allowing links to go up.  So, from now on, when I direct you somewhere it will probably be to my website or blog and you'll have to navigate from there.

That said, this is the last day for bidding on the dinner I've donated to Brenda Novak's auction to fight diabetes.  Sign up if you're interested in having drinks, dinner and sparkling conversation with me in San Francisco during the RWA conference this summer!

I've also posted the excerpt for SAIL AWAY, one of my books that's been reprinted for Harlequin's Best Seller's Collection.  SAIL AWAY is a reunion story and we're discussing those on my blog at www.lisajackson.com, so come and join the conversation, let me know how you feel about reunion stories where the hero and heroine reunite--boy do the fireworks spark!

Thanks for all of your patience with my attempts at linking things up!

SAIL AWAY & AN AUCTION FOR THE FIGHT AGAINST DIABETES

SAIL AWAY, my contribution to the Harlequin Best-sellers Collection is available!  It's a reprint of an early book, but one that has some action and adventure and a hint of mystery.  To read more about the book, you can click here:  http://lisajackson.com/book.cfm?bookid=119  I'll have an excerpt up in the next day or two.

Also, I want to tell you about Brenda Novak's auction to fight against diabetes.  Brenda, a fellow author, is doing an incredible job raising money to fight against this disease.  My sister and I have donated a couple of baskets and today, May 8th, for one day only, you can bid to have dinner with me in San Francisco during the National RWA conference this July.  Click here to find out more

There are tons of things offered up from bidding--just check out Brenda's site and you'll see.  It's for a great cause and I thought you'd like to know about it, so if you're so inclined visit www.brendanovak.com and "shop."  It's really, really amazing.

Meanwhile, after I do my own shopping on the site, I'd better get back to work.  I'm almost done with another proposal to send to my editor, thank goodness and I've already started writing on WICKED GAME, the collaboration with my sister that comes out next February.

Also, I'll be speaking with Sister Nan and signing copies of ABSOLUTE FEAR and LOST SOULS at the Rose City Romance Writer's meeting on Saturday in Portland, OR.  If you're a member, or would like to be a guest, drop by the Sylvania Campus of Portland Community College at 10AM.  Details are posted on my website www.lisajackson.com.

BACK TO WORK & CONTEST WINNERS

The Vancouver, B.C. conference was one of the best I've ever attended and the fact that my son came with me and we celebrated our birthdays--which are within a week of each other made it even more fun.  I spent time with my editor John Scognamiglio of Kensington Publishing and met tons of new friends.  What a great weekend.

Now, of course, it's back to work.  I'm jumping into MALICE, the book on which I'm collaborating with my sister, Nancy Bush.  We're having a lot of fun with this one.  It's set in Oregon, between Portland and the coast and good old St. Elizabeth's campus shows up again.  You might remember St. Lizzy's from MOST LIKELY TO DIE,  a book I did with Beverly Barton and Wendy Corsi Staub last year.

Oh, and more winners have been posted on the blog on my website, so check it out. Just click:  http://blog.lisajackson.com/

More on the new project later, for now, I'm glad to be done touring and back at home.  YAY!!!

WRITE ON IN VANCOUVER BC

First of all, thanks to everyone who showed up for the signing and discussion at the Poisoned Pen in Scottsdale, AZ last Friday.  We had a great time.  While I was in sunny Arizona I was able to catch up with some old friends, have a few drinks and a lot of laughs.

This weekend I'm off to the Write On Conference in Vancouver B.C. hosted by the Greater Vancouver Romance Writers of America.  I'll be there with my editor, John Scognamiglio, so it should be doubly fun.  Here's the link if you're interested:  http://www.rwagvc.com/wov/wov-index.html.  I'm going to give the keynote speech, followed by a panel and a workshop on Hot Sex and Cold Death:  This Ain't Your Granny's Cozy Little Mystery.  The title alone keeps people awake and interested!

Come on over to the blog on my website, where I'll talk more about the conference on Wednesday.  We're currently discussing the pros and cons of writing a series versus stand alone books.  http://blog.lisajackson.com/   I've also got some cool contests running and they'll be changing at the end of the month, so sign up while you're there.

Hope to see you in Canada this weekend!

PHOENIX & LOST SOULS CONTEST WINNERS

I'm off to Phoenix tomorrow.  I'll be signing at the Poisoned Pen in Scottsdale on Friday night, so if you're in the area, stop by and say "hi."  Right now I'm finishing my synopsis for CHOSEN TO DIE, the sequel to LEFT TO DIE and it's giving me fits--one of those stories that, while being the same length as my other books, takes place in less than a week.  Lots of action.  Also, I thought yo might like to know that I've posted the first batch of winners at lisajackson.com.  This is for the "LOOKING FOR LOST SOULS" contest and the prizes are cool T-shirts.  All you have to do is answer a question about the book; if you're correct, you're immediately in the drawing, so have at it at http://lisajackson.com/lostsoulscontest.cfm and see who won at http://blog.lisajackson.com/.    Meanwhile, it's back to the book for me.  Although CHOSEN TO DIE is an August 09 book, it has to be pre-approved before I finish it!

ROMANTIC TIMES CONVENTION & PITTSBURGH

I'm still in Pittsburgh at the Romantic Times Book Lover's Convention.  I have to stay I've had a great time despite some hotel issues---no restroom on the first floor and 1500 women---come on!  It's been an interesting, exhausting and rejuvenating three days, if that makes any sense.  I'm posting information about it on my blog at www.lisajackson.com in the next few days--the first post is there now at http://blog.lisajackson.com/ If you're a writer or reader or bookseller, you might want to check it out.  It's a party, that's for sure!

Somehow I didn't get the word that I was winning an award or two, so I skipped the awards lunch.  Yeah---not the best idea.  But I did meet with some great people and had a lot of fun!

Now, it's Sunday night, I'm packed up and ready to head out to the airport in the morning for the long flight home.  Then, you guessed it, I've got a synopsis to finish.  The damned thing just won't write itself!

ROMANTIC TIMES CONVENTION/TAX DAY

I just returned from Seattle and Suncadia a beautiful resort in the Washington Cascade Mountains, so I'm washing clothes and quickly repacking.  Today, I'm doing taxes, tomorrow I'm off to the Romantic Times Convention in Pittsburgh.  I hope to see some of you there!  I'm going to catch American Idol tonight though I'm still reeling from the elimination of Michael Johns.  I'm not sure he was my favorite, but he was in the top two or three and he always brought an interesting performance to the show.  This year's talent is incredible and I think he was one of the best.  We're discussing his elimination, along with a lot of things including love scenes, this week at www.lisajackson.com, so come over and post your comments at http://blog.lisajackson.com/

I did see the "Red Hot Read" excerpt of LOST SOULS in Cosmo magazine.  Pretty cool!  It's in the May issue and I'm trying to find a link to my website.  I do already have a couple of interviews posted there, if you're interested.  And I've got that new contest on the website.  LOOKING FOR LOST SOULS.  If you'd like a chance to win a T-shirt, please enter at http://lisajackson.com/contests.cfm

I hope to see you in Pittsburgh!

THE NY TIMES, COSMO & SEATTLE

Great news!!! LOST SOULS leapt onto the New York Times best-seller list and an excerpt of the book is in Cosmo Magazine.  I'm thrilled about the NYT and USA Today bestseller lists, of course and what better advertising for the book than Cosmo?  So it's a newspaper/magazine day for me while I'm touring.  Today I'm in Seattle, currently on the 38th floor of a hotel with a sweeping view of Puget Sound and the Seattle skyline!  Tonight, after a day of drop in signings in local bookstores I'm off to Suncadia Lodge--a new experience for me!  I'm pampering myself this weekend and might just order room service this morning to celebrate all the good news.

LOST SOULS--MORE TOURING

Tonight I’ll be signing/speaking with a group of authors in an event called MURDER WITH FRIENDS at Powell’s Book Store in Beaverton.  My sister is joining me as are quite a few other mystery writers.  It should be fun!  Then I’m off to the Seattle area and I’m going to speak at Suncadia Lodge on Saturday night, a resort deep in the Cascade Mountains of Washington State, so that should be interesting.  I’ve never been there and the place looks fantastsic! On Sunday I head home for a brief respite (and finishing revisions on LEFT TO DIE).   It’s a weekend of planes and automobiles and big cities and remote resorts . . . all wrapped in the murder/mayhem.  The complete schedule is on the appearance section of my website, www.lisajackson.com and if you cruise on by check out some of the other cool features and see who won last month’s contest on my blog.
