What’s up with luckystar...
We are looking to play a reunion show! Fingers crossed that we can make it happen before mid May of this year. We need help finding a venue. We don't want to play on a stage...a large basement would be perfect. More info on that as we get it.
You might notice 2 more songs up on this thing. Ocean City Stars (korben dallas ep version) and a version of Dreamlife that few have ever heard. Ryan put together an amazing acoustic version of this song...check it out.
That's it for now, but we are looking to make this reunion show happen.

Best 5 mins you'll spend reading all day...
An article by, Scott Arney
'Lucky' for having been there
Everything is in a perpetual state of coming or going. Significant others, friends, trends, seasons, political movements, civilizations, species, life itself, will all come and go, in time, the non-spatial continuum in which events occur in succession from the past through the present to the future.
Six years ago, merely a preconceived measurement of seconds, minutes, hours, days, and months between two relative points on the non-spatial continuum, a group of five friends from neighboring south Jersey towns came together to form a hardcore-punk band called Luckystar.
As Luckystar evolved, year after year came and went. The scene evolved. Punk bands toured less or stopped touring all together. Hardcore bands stayed underground hardcore or turned metal and went mainstream.
Mainstream music tried to duplicate and capitalize on hardcore. The end result is the hardly core, new age 80s metal groups on MTV, crap band reality TV and other assorted garbage such as Kelly Osborne and Ashley Simpson.
All the while Luckystar kept a low profile. The band never left the Delaware Valley to tour. They never sought a label or desired nationwide stardom. They stayed in school, focused on getting their lives in order, putting the band aside when necessary to achieve less glamorous goals. They kept a close-knit network of loyal followers who sold out nearly every Luckystar show and knew every member on a first name basis.
The span of time encompassed three albums, daily airplay on 94.1 WYSP, countless shows from Allentown to Philly to Asbury at any conceivable venue from basements to bars, backyards, barns and even ice rinks, and more friends and fans than one could ever measure with a maximum occupancy fire code.
Six years culminated Friday night when Luckystar played their final show at the Trocadero Balcony Bar.
Life will unfold different plans for us and each of us will be pulled in different directions, said bassist Alex Wildman. He recently accepted a position as manager of a local outdoor sports retail store.
Drummer Ryan Petrillo will travel to Scotland to pursue a masters degree in Gothic Literature. Guitarist Roger Holst will further his education in Italy. Lead singer Albert DiGiacomo and guitarist John Silvestri are pursuing teaching and real estate careers respectively.
No one says Luckystar is officially through forever, but no one has made plans to practice, play shows, or record songs anymore.
Were kind of at a point in our lives where were not breaking up so much as moving on and putting the band on hiatus, Silvestri said.
I feel like part of my childhood is dying, he added before going on stage.
Luckystar, thats got to be the suckiest name for a band, but its our name, said lead singer Albert Digiacomo before the band broke out with their opening song Street Light Angel, to which the crowd responded in chorus and a whirlwind of thrashing in the pit.
A disheartening aura would have ruled the show if not for the members sheer energy, emotion and lighthearted wit. The band helped the audience forget the gloomy circumstances of the night and enjoy every irretrievable moment.
Adrenaline, perspiration and teary eyes thickened the atmosphere as the show progressed and the band forged emotion into each chord. Synchronized fists pumped and hands clapped to each bass hit. The crowd became inflamed with every song, knowing each lyric, each verse; each refrain brought the night closer to an end.
During the nights final song, Ocean City Stars, the dance floor turned to a sea of fire and the final breakdown set the club ablaze. Albert tearfully thanked everyone who ever came to a show or supported the band in any way even if just by listening to a Luckystar CD. Before the last note resonated members of the audience rushed the stage to send the band off with gratitude, handshakes and hugs.
Luckystar may be gone now, but the legacy they left behind with their radiant energy and unforgettable stage presence will never leave the memories of those who experienced their shows. For Luckystar, it was not a case of easy come easy go. Their music and their spirit will live perpetually in the hearts of those they touched.

Some last words...
Current mood: accomplished
We have played in basements, bars, barns, clubs, venues, houses, backyards, 4t of July Fireworks, Churches, ice rinks, colleges, high schools and anywhere you have put our CD on. I look back on all of these shows and think, what a good fuckin time!
Being in a band is like being in a relationship. It can be the best thing in the world or it can make you want to kill who ever your with. For us, it was more of a sexual relationship whereas, it didnt last quite as long as we expected it to, but it sure was great while it lasted. We would have long fast moving stretches, where you could not slow us down and we were always on top and then had quite some time when we would focus on trying new things and tried to keep it interesting.
Playing with, luckystar took about 6 years from start to finish and will probably be the most memorable 6 years of my life. Im sure that I could speak for everyone in the band when I say, Thank you. Whom do I say thank you to
Mr. Petrillo_ You not only gave us a place to practice, but you kept a watchful eye on us and made sure we didnt get roped into any dumb situations (you know what Im talking about) that we would not have been able to get out of. I always will look at you as more of a friend then, Ryans Dad.
Tommy_ As far as were all concerned youre part of the band. Been to just about as many shows as we have and almost never paid! Not only are you great at getting our shows on video but you also happen to be a best friend. Our shows would not have been quite as fun to play with out you being there and we might not have not made it the six years without your pushing.
Steph_ Some of our best songs are about you! You were there when were just a cover band doing Deftones songs and stayed all the way to the end. You helped us set up shows, sold our merch and provided some cheese steaks along the way. Probably one of the coolest girls ever!
The Station Crew_ You guys are a big reason that we got out of the basement and started to play for people. You helped us move away from covers by enjoying the originals we can up with, oh so long ago.
This list could go on and onI have not even touched on all the individuals that have helped us on our way, but you know who you are and more importantly, we know who you are. Thanx for helpin us over the years with, singing along and making the shows worth while. We would not have played for as long as we did if it wasnt for all the support we received. I can say with out a doubt, that we have the best friends and fans that any band could wish for. Thank you.
I could keep typing and Im sure different guys in the band have different things they would like to add, but for myself I would just like to say, these we the best years of my life so far. It's funny to think that a little more then 1/4 of my life was spent with this band. What a good run!
Now life will unfold different plans for us and each of us will be pulled in different directions. We started luckystar being best friends, but now I can no longer consider Albert, Rodger, John and Ryan best friends of mine, I consider you guys family. Im getting all teary eyed typing this up, but Ill always look back on luckystar as the best thing I have ever been a part of.
GO LUCKYSTAR, DIE HARD!

update on LAST SHOW TIX...
Well I just went thru all the messages we have received since I have posted about the show (6+ full pages) and I will say we have the best fans/friends any band could hope for. Thanx again for all the support over the years…
Now for the update on the tix…I'm pickin' them up tomorrow and we're only getting 75. Unfortunately we have had well over 100 people say they want tix…so this leaves me to just ask for more tix…if you want to go to the show, I will do everything in my power to get you a ticket. This will be the last luckystar show soooo…I want everyone to be there…in the off chance we can't get everyone in there, maybe we'll try and set up another fair well show at a hall or something…
I dunno..anyway, thanx again for sticking by us over the years and we're looking forward to a crazy fun last show… <3 _alex/luckystar

Release show Re-cap.
Current mood: happy
So the show was awesome last night....for all those that came out you know exactly what i mean. Now for those unlucky few that missed the show, here is a little re-cap.
BiG Hurt_ first show ever and fucking tore it up...def. watch for these guys. Have a great old school sound and great fuckin dudes. Make sure you make it out to one of there shows.
Girls! Girls! Girls!_ not only are all of these dudes mega hott, but they can fucking play. We are going to be doing some touring with these boys coming up in the near future so watch the fuck out!
Taking Sides_now we have played with these boys before, but wow....they were fucking on last night. I wouldn't be suppised to see these kids on MTV in a few years.
The Nitty Gritty_"Mic check, One Two, One Two, we're the Nitty Gritty, what the fuck you gonna do." These guys are not only funny to watch but really good at rapping. It was great having Tommy, Timmy and Mike play with us last nite. It would not have been as fun with out them.
our set_ Well, what can i say, we played our hearts out for all of our friends that came out to support us last night and i hope it showed. We, as a band, all had an amazing time last night, but it would not have been so great without everyone there. So you know who you are, thanx for coming out and showing some love.
Well there you have it, the show was great and keep your eye out for all the bands thats that i mentioned. Thanx again for showing some support!

New music from luckystar....please read.
Current mood: excited
So, we have been recording a new demo. It's taken some time to get together, but hey, when does a CD ever come out quickly? We'll with having some new song also means a few other things...this won't take long to read i promise.
ONE_ New songs on our myspace ...we'll put up two new songs this week (9/18) and if we get at least 666 plays between the two songs by 9/25, i'll put up the other two. So this way it's up to you guys if you want to hear more.
TWO_ New songs means playing more shows. Just not any show but a record release show (yes i know it's only a demo, but our release shows are always a good time) After that we're going to want to play a bunch to get people pumped about the newer stuff.
THREE_ More shows means new merch. We have some cool ideas, so if you come out to a show, don't be surprised if you want to leave with some luckystar gear.
FOUR_ New songs, more shows, and merch all lead up to hopefully recording a new full length album. We're still writing new music and really want to see how far we can get luckystar.
To everyone that has ever come out to a show, bought some merch, or ever just left a nice comment, we thank you. But now is the time we ask you to really show some support and get behind us again. We would love to keep making music but we do need support.
So with all this said, i'm sure you're tired of reading and i'm out of words to write. Listen to the new stuff. Come to our shows. Buy our merch. Till then, stay awesome.
VI.VI.VI.
