Women in the Online Workplace
Current mood: awake

I've subscribed to a newsletter and website for a long time at
We Magazine for Women

It's a website promoting women in the professional workforce and has great articles and information for women who are in business for themselves and trying to make a go of it.

They are doing a Who's Who directory and have an open call to be listed in it.
(For Free) so I wanted to urge you all, real estate agents and webdesigners and others to go check it out and get listed.  It's just another way for us to network, and in this case, a website that has alot of good knowledge and tips for us!

When you go to the homepage above, look on the lower left side for the Who's Who in Women Directory link!

Bill Clinton Visits Myrtle Beach
Current mood: inspired
Category: Goals, Plans, Hopes

Last night Bill Clinton came to Myrtle Beach to help Hillary campaign and encourage us to vote in the primary nominations here on Saturday the 26th.

I can't tell you how priviledged I feel for having been able to see and hear this great man speak.  He remains as a man that I am most proud of my generation for producing.  Yes, like many of us he may be proud, a bit spoiled and self absorbed, with his own faults that come with those qualities.  But my God, the man is brilliant.  I don't know how his brain holds all the information he can impart in a talk like this.  He wasn't reading anything.  Just talking to us as you would a friend that you were talking to over a cup of coffee.  He is insightful, thoughtful, sure of his convictions, and the most charismatic speaker I think I've ever listened to.

Once or twice he tossed in a embarrassed little joke about himself.  One of the funniest was during a question and answer diaglogue about the perks of being rich...of being the president, and how different life was AFTER you get used to being one.  He said, when I was in office, and I was considered one of the wealthy people (my words...I can't remember exactly) he says, "The republicans were SO MEAN TO ME..." his voice trailing off like a little kid.  It was priceless.

Thankfully there were no Monica mentions.  He was serious for the most part.  He allowed a very long session of question and answers...and actually talked for more than 2 solid hours.  He received questions from retired men, a war veteran, black women, older women, teachers, students, and several foreigners.  In every case, he answered after pausing to bring the words forth that he wanted to say...and from the bottom of his heart...what he sincerely believed that his wife can and will do when she is President.  You cannot doubt that he loves Hillary.  And you cannot doubt that they will be the most dynamic team that has ever been in the White House.  George W Bush will look all the more miserable when compared to what came after him.

Be sure and check out the photos in my album for Bill.  I was very close and got some very great shots.  I also did a very detailed posting on my real blog if you want to know what all he said...  Bill Clinton in Myrtle Beach

For Realtors Needing Links
Current mood: nerdy
Category: Jobs, Work, Careers

For Realtors - Do you need links to your website?
Hey all,
I just thought about this a few minutes ago and decided to throw it out here.

I have a real estate blog, Google Pagerank is PR4 and it's been around quite a few years. I never have enough time to write in it as much as I should.

If any of you want to write an article about how real estate is faring in your area, (and I don't mean an advertisement just for the sake of advertising your website) with some interesting content about prices, sales, etc, I will be happy to post your article on the blog and give you 2 or 3 links in it to your website. The best way to do it is to have your search terms in it several times and tell me which ones they are and what to link to.

I won't pull any tricks like using no-follow or anything...just good juicy links.
I want the content and interest to the readers, and I don't mind giving you this in return.

Blog is at www.myrtlebeachwebdesign.com/blog/real-estate-web-blog.html
My email is Jan@MyrtleBeachWebdesign.com

If you have a couple of photos to include, all the better! Email them to me with the article!

Hope to hear from many of you.

Myrtle Beach Real Estate Auction Tomorrow!!! (9/29)
Current mood: busy
Category: Jobs, Work, Careers

Again for the real estate agents and investors out there!
Tomorrow is the big day for our 55 plus parcel real estate auction.

I'm sure most people aren't able to come if you haven't already made plans, but they have also contracted with a website called www.bidspotter.com to run the auction online as well. I see they have 37 of the properties listed on there right now if you want to look them over or participate.

We've got more than 600 buyers signed up and over 55 properties, so it's going to be one HUGE auction. I did also hear that the guys sponsoring it have visited almost all of the properties and would only accept the ones that are being offered at or below appraisal (low ball) price. They got picky towards the end because we had too many sellers wanting to sign up.

We will probably have another one fairly soon because there were so many more that wanted to sell than we had room for, so be sure and keep it in mind. Agents, if you sign up a client who buys, you get a 3% commission!

The auction website is www.CoastalAuctionCompany.com

The quick link to Bidspotter is http://bidspotter.com/forms/productsearch.php?keywords=myrtle+beach&x=33&y=9

(or got to bidspotter.com and enter "Myrtle Beach" in the search bar!)     www.bidspotter.com

Hope to see you there or that you will be with us online!
If we have another there will be more announcements!

New Davy Concert at Front Street Station
Current mood: rejuvenated
Category: Movies, TV, Celebrities

The Front Street Station in Northumberland Pennsylvania just announced they've booked Davy again on December 1rst.  For those that don't know, Front Street is a dinner club that is about 45 miles from Davy's home in Beavertown, and when we are lucky, he plays there every year about this time.

This is pretty much agreed to be the all-time best venue to see Davy, and to get to meet him afterwards.  He's always very happy to be there...relaxed, friendly, and un-rushed.  The owner of Front Street loves him...the townspeople love him and always come, and most of us who can afford the trip go too.  He almost always does a meet and greet for literally HOURS afterwards.  It's a cozy place, good accoustics, and good food.  Tickets are $60 for that Saturday night dinner buffet and the show.  The website can be found here...  Front Street Station

If you've been thinking about going to a show, this is THE SHOW to go to.  Many of the recent videos on You Tube are taken there.  My profile picture here was taken there, too.  I can't recommend it enough.

We usually stay at a very quaint little hotel called The Phillips Inn...although this year I think we're doing the Hampton.  The Harrisburg airport is best, I think.

Maybe I'll see you there!

Biggest Real Estate Auction Ever in the Carolinas!
Current mood: envious
Category: Jobs, Work, Careers

Don't miss this one time opportunity...

Several of the big developers in Myrtle Beach have joined together to bring Tranzon-Hagen Auctioneers to Myrtle Beach on September 29, 2007 for the largest multi-parcel real estate auction in the Carolinas.

So far there are more than 50 listings signed up, and more coming every day. These sellers are very motivated, and will definately be a great opportunity to pick up oceanfront, golf course, condos, lots, and commercial real estate for a very discounted price.

The official website is www.CoastalAuctionCompany.com .
Please get signed up to receive emails and last minute updates, and if you bring in a client who bids successfully in an auction, you will be paid a 3% commission for the sale.

We hope you will all attend, but be sure and tell your investors too!

I have put up a generic html email that you can send out with only your own contact information. A customer registration form is also available.
See the following URLS:

www.myrtlebeachcondostore.com/auction/broker-email.html

www.myrtlebeachcondostore.com/auction/generic-email.html

Or contact me at Jan@MyrtleBeachWebDesign.com and I can direct you and help with any email issues.

I found out tonight that there will also be some kind of online broadcast of the auction that bidders can bid in real-time as well. More on that should be posted on the official website this week!

Please join us in Myrtle Beach on Sept 29th for this fun (and profitable) event!

Putting a Link on Your Profile
Current mood: busy
Category: Friends

For those of you who might want to add a direct link in your Myspace page, or any other website, for that matter...here is the simple line of HTML coding that can be used.

If you giving this to another website owner to help your own site in the search engines (Google's placement is heavily dependent on links coming IN to your website from other sites) then think about how other people might search for your site.  If it's about Davy Jones, then make sure the clickable part (also called Anchor Text) is that phrase.  If your site is about New York Real Estate, then your link needs to be that very phrase.

I won't get into that any further, cause this is mostly for the Davy fans.  To put a link into your profile for Davy's MySpace page, here is the code...

(a href="http://www.myspace.com/therealdavyjones")Davy Jones MySpace(/a)

If you want it to be a separate paragraph, put a (p) before and after the code.

Replace the parentheses with BRACKETS   such as   >< .  It's hard to tell you this in a blog or email because they automatically convert my coding to the link.

Be sure not to forget either the opening <  or the closing > or either of the quotation marks, or it will break the code and make everything invisible...:-)

Here is the code in action...  Davy Jones MySpace

While I'm at it, here's a link to my Davy website too...:-)

The Davy Worship Site

Hope that helps!
