requests and vacations
Current mood: amorous
Vacation was great...at least as good as it could be with a sick papa and 2 small ones under 4 ...oh and pit bull. good times though!!
Upon returning: if you hear I said someting please call me personally....I have my own opinions and if you want to hear them call me, don't take someone elses word for it or (for that matter) who said it. My door is open and the coffee pot it on so let's chat, ok? extend a hand my friend...i've recived no word from you at all lately and feel that another is being misrepresented on my words...i've been on both sides of this sort of thing and might have some things to say that might be a bit of sugar for the medicine. Hugs. I know everyone checks their myspace except me...so call or text m'dear.
Take life with a grain of salt, a slice of lime and a shot of Tequilia.
Salute.

progress of the peanut patty
well...there hasn’t been much on the hunt for the elusive peanut patty...but i’m going to hit up the more uptown 7-11’s to see if there is better luck there.
Last night Amanda happened upon the rock and roll hall of fame inductions and there before me was Leonard Cohen...the man himself. I’m sure his spoken word speech is already up somewhere on youtube or the like; find it, love it, watch it again....tell a friend.
I have lots to say but am not quite sure how to say it...this place is always so strange and familiar at the same time now on these small visits every few years...the only thing that never changes (although it does) is amanda. I’ll get around to writting it all soon enough i’m sure, but for now a bagel and Cohen are doing to trick of keeping my mind in quite a lucid bit of fog which i am finding quite welcome.
soundtrack for today AM-Kittens by The Underground Afternoon- Paperback writter by the beatles Evening- Edge of the World by Faith No More Midnight- Closing Time by Leonard Cohen
ok, well the bagel is getting hard and the coffee is long since cold; emails are checked and blogs written...although it seems that there was something else I wanted to mention but it’s escaped back into the fog...farwell then thought, alas that you died an early death.
PS: Carphax Files new album the long awaited Revolation 1: Dirt is out and on sale! Its a good soundtrack for lots of stuff like, oh, breaking things, fucking things, thinking on things, revolution of things, acupuntureing things, physdophycological things, backbreaking things, happy dancing chrome things, and even bouning things! Just the thing for your things!
Yours from the dusty haunts of the past,
Scylla

yep, i’m still around...
actually i’m about to take off to arkansas, hence the blog (free wifi at the airport). I must say no matter how much i fly i never loose my love for airports. untended children running loose, bad hair, people who travel in their PJ’s, and never a lack of stoned employees and men in sweater vests...and more untended children; what’s not to like.
This is just a check in saying HI! and that i almost lost my favorite middle finger last night cooking with vodka...gail i’ll need you when i get back to make my nail look less retarded, but it’s hard to type with a bandaid and a flat top finger...hmmm flat top finger...that’s fun! lets say it together,
FLAT
TOP
FINGER
sounds like some thumbwars circus...but i guess that would be big top...
well that’s about as much fun as i can stand for one morning and i’m going to try to get a start on my much neglected inbox.
See you on the other side of the mason dixon...and yes Jim, i know...peanut patty, but Jason, what was up with the pancake text?

My love affair with a red onion, Beethoven’s 3rd in E Flat, and Dobio’s
I know kids...i know. I'm never on anymore. it's true and i have no good reason for it at all really. um. nope. not really. There is so much to tell yet it seems so trite compared with what goes on in the lives of others. I've changed my diet. I"m still trying to trudge through school. I'm becoming a better cook and laying out the outline for a book that is in the works with a good friend of mine that was absent from us for far to long.
At the moment, and what ironicly inspired me to write this is that i'm sitting in mt. home, ID at the only moxie in town so that I could mapquest directions to this place in BFE that my book arts prof is luring us to so we can make paper. The size 2 behind the counter, bless her, had to ask me 4 times what a doppio is when I ordered it. After I explained it was just a fancy way of saying double shot she still wrote "Dobio" on the side of my cup. Perhaps I have a studder i know nothing about, or else i've begun to write in the same phonics I misspell in. For some reason this made me so greatful for all the people in my life who know things. People who haven't laughed at my new diet (even if they know it's prob. just another phase) but have really supported it and helped me along. People who are out there creating music and art and food and laughter and pain and all these great things. people who know what a doppio is. people who are my family. I admit that i live in a bubble with G and the void of an apartment I say many, if not all, of my nights at as of late. It makes me glad to see all this growth around me, but at the same time I am happy growing ever so slowly now. like licking the ice cream cone slow, slow, slowly in order to feel each flavor pop and trickle down your throat in a cream coating that you know will numb your mouth and yet there is nothing to be done but savor it because it is enevitable that at one point it will be gone and all that will remain is memory ... and maybe a flavorful burp...but I digress. my life is like an ice cream cone right now. wholesome, safe, and full of the flavors that my friends who are all growing so vastly lately are bringing to my doorstep and vision. Sept. 12th is the eve of my wedding day 4 years ago...it's my tradition to get tossed alone and think on things. This year was no different except that I drank with two dear friends, the man in the moon and Beethoven. Beethoven's 3rd in E flat consits of 4 movements, only the 3rd being really known to anyone who would care to listen to the classical channel or perhaps a lingering familar from a long wait in the doctors office. The second movement has cresendos that don't fully "top out" (not sure what the term is) but they never quite apex, yet the just build and die out to build again and die out again. As I sat there listening to the unfullfilled measures and harmonies that bleed together i thought of how sad and beautyful it was to be unfinished like this, how because it never finished fully, it was able to blend all the more beautifully. I see my friends, those who know things, like these unfinished notes. These unfinished cresendo's. These sad bass notes that lead you into darkness only to remind you that darkness is the place we are birthed from and where we all finish; everything in between is just us riding different creasts...but do we ever cresendo? Can we ever reach the apex and not re-enter into the void of the begining since if we apex we have ended and, but definition, have no choice but to begin again or else lie still.
these are the things I think about in my bubble and I am happy to be here, although I seem absent at times...I'm only on a different creast for the moment, one that is slow and soft as the low cord of the viola in the opening of a movement.
I must go and find this weird place and the wierd prof that drug me out here, but know friends that although i am not here in words on the box, I am still out here and the moon is watching us all as we climb or fall according to our own great music.

Industria died in the light of dark desires which seem to have given way to VOODOO. I'm hoping for a zombie contest!
Body: You do Voodoo!
Feel the Power of Club Voodoo
It's a sound that's taking over the biggest clubs all over the world; dark seductive, luscious. It's not what you're quite used to but, you've heard it somewhere before. You can taste it, touch it, feel it down in your core & we're going to drive it into you every Friday Night.
Club Voodoo Friday Nights Babylon Hooka 609 W. Main (above the Bistro) 9pm-3am No Cover until 1am Beginning Aug. 3rd
A special kind of mind-fuck that couldn't be brought to you by just one entertainment company....this sort of psycho-sexual sorted affair took the twisted mind of Wicked Wonderland Entertainment coupling perversly with Urban City Beats to produce a world class sound that you won't be able to tear yourself away from. You'll take it cause you'll love it!

how to get a hold of me
My gmail and by text or phone...text is better cause if my phone goes off It will still be there when i turn it back on and I'll know that I missed you. The angelskin and boundjourney accounts are not active any longer. I'm downsizing my presence on the internet...or however ya want to say it.
I seem to have offended some people lately by not responding to emails, comments, missed calls (cause my voicemail is full so they can't leave one) and event invites. Sorry if you are one of these people. I leave my voicemail full so the my credit people can learn to fuck right off...ITS NOT ABOUT YOU...unless you have 20 large that you'll loan me to pay the buggers off. hehe.
If you don't have my gmail and need it just email me here and i'll get it to you. I do not check myspace with any sort of regularity, or it's events!
Even an email that says, "check myspace events" would be just fine and then no one's feelers get hurt and Idon't miss out on da action! doubly good. For the local girls and fiends, text text text ahoy! or email. or a note on my car. whatever. kisses and missed ya during the vacation!

What I did on my summer vacation 2007
Category: Travel and Places
What I did on my summer vacation 2007
Dear readers, where o where has your sweet Scylla gone? She left on a jet plane bound for the boonies once again for her yearly summer vacation, but not south this time…oh no dears! But up up up into the great heights of the Rocky Mountains; Idaho Springs to be exact. Yes, I left Idaho to climb another 3000 some odd feet into the thinner aired area named after the state that I was ready to escape for just a small while. Alas, this is not the only reason I have been MIA for such a long time, it is, in fact, because I was slowly becoming a hippy and the sweet Lord gave me a swift kick in the shins telling me that this was not as good of an idea as I might have imagined.
Yes, I was in a sarong given to me by the great Raine for my birthday happily floating down the Boise river. Now, this is something akin to an initiation ritual to officially become a "Boiseian". For well over five years I've lived and loved in this small, clean, and more-punk-than-your-town town and never have floated down the damn river that runs right though it's midsection like one of those weird thin belts from the 80's which was actually like 7 small belts all just sort of put on around and over one another, but I digress…
So here I am, no make-up or heels (lord forbid) floating merrily merrily merrily down the river with my beau and some other good eggs being about as earthly as a woman can get without hemp accoutrements.
To bring the story to a painfully short conclusion, my legs, especially my shins, became the home to some sort of sun lobster that caused them to swell and crust to the point of kankels and cursed me to the realm of slacks for the next week. Praise be to Ginger the Wicked for appeasing them for a few hours with the seaweed. Don't ask. I'm currently applying to leper-ladies.com due to this turn of events.
After this week I'd love to forget, not to mention the bills for aloe and solarcane that I'll be receiving shortly, July the 3rd G and I embarked for a trip to meet "mom" where she lives in a cabin in Colorado as afore mentioned. Here at the apex of the world, no…really…no really, she lives on the highest paved road in north America folks, yeah….really…yes yes, it was beautiful and pictures will follow. A word on "mom" in a moment, but the trip was mostly full of local flavor (meaning wine and beer). For the Idaho natives, we saw more spandex bikers than lucky 13 sees all year! These crazy people actually were mountain biking over 200 miles over the crests of the rocky mountains…because of this I've decided to give up going to my spin classes because I never want to be that insane.
We spent some time in Estes Park, CO doing what the poor people do in a tourist town, walking and "just looking" at the shops and other sites. We also played bumper cars, found a wonderful BBQ restaurant (well their whiskey was wonderful and within walking distance) and G got to chase after a female elk right before a heavy downpour in the afternoon, which we found to be the case most of the time we were here. I think we have a picture of the Elk's white tail end somewhere in the files…
The pool was actually too cold in the middle of July to swim in, so we decided on the hot tub. My legs peeled early in the trip leaving a trail of snake-like skin though out mom's front yard, otherwise known as Casa del Gato.
Mom. Well, G's mom is an old biker woman who, right before we arrived, threw a party for all the rafters (apx 110 of them according to eyewitnesses). Besides that, she's an expert at Baldor's Gate (she made no qualm about back seat driving when we were playing). She's also a cook that would equal G and myself combined…well, maybe about ¾ of us combined, either way there was good crustini's all weekend.
Well dear readers, we have again reached civilization and I again have regained my make-up, heels, back- seamed stockings and computer…and anyone who wants to send money would rock since we are spending it all at the DIA bar waiting on our delayed southwest flight. I will leave you with a 15 pointers to the wise:
1. Do not try to bypass security in a tri-garter with metal hooks and piercings.
2. Do not try to drink your normal amount of bourbon at a very high altitude on the first night there; forget the make-up.
3. Don't go to Estes Park with only 20 bucks
4. Don't forget the digital camera at home, or try to give us smoking before going on vacation…with bourbon.
5. Don't expect that the "more ranges than any other cell company" will do shit for you in the mountains.
6. Postcards are a great way to say, "I love you" at 8 for 1.00.
7. A shot glass is a good 3.00 way to say "I love you" for those who couldn't go with you.
8. When walking down the highest paved road in North America at night after drinking a mixture of bourbon, wine, and the mighty PBR, DO have a flashlight, a handsome companion (with beard) and a few drunken Irish songs to sing along the way to scare off the local mountain lion or lonely redneck.
9. Go team visionary.
10. The natives are the best resource of what to do and where to do it on the cheap, but if you buy them a shot they will talk to you for at least an hour about your genealogy and their opinion on it…and then they will show you their antique guns and ask you to stay the night…really. (good thing he was a hippy) eh?
11. Beer is a good and cheap alternative.
12. The two-hour rule at the airport is BS, unless you need a drink… or are in SLC with a connection.
13. Smoking huts are as rare and blessed as mother Mary on May Day.
14. Always save 50 bucks for the trip home.
15. Don't forget the Voltarin, or extra strength Excedrin.
Well that's about it dear readers. It's back to work for me after laundry and brunch… and perhaps some therapy.
What's next for Scylla? Carphax Files will be in Boise with MEND on Aug. 11th at an event you CAN NOT miss if you value your soul or at least your social status. G and I will be doing …well the things that G and I love to do now that my sunburn is gone, and I'll still be looking for a third job during mid-week to supplement my job at the hospital and the lingerie shop
Drop a message to us sweet readers from near and far, or perhaps, just list a list of things you've learned on your own adventures near and far so we know what to look out for when we again travel away from the mighty BOI, but for now…there is a beer awaiting me before a run to a delayed flight and many uncomfortable hours in a plane. Slaute and good evening.
