Hello all!

It's been a while since I've played a show, so I thought I'd set a few up for the summer!

I also thought I'd take this opportunity to let you all know that I'm planning a move back to Austin, TX in September sometime. Now now, don't you cry, I just feel that it's time for me to get back to my roots and re-explore the great city I grew up in. New York will be missed greatly, as this wonderful city made me realize what I wanted out of life and gave me the opportunity to grab onto it and give it a go. But as all good things must come to an end, I feel it is my time to bid adieu to the Big Apple after 8 years here. So PLEASE come out to one OR ALL of these last New York shows.

I have the pleasure of, what I have heard called, the "kiss of death" time slot of 6PM at MY LAST NEW YORK FULL BAND SHOW! Please come out early on a Sunday to help us rock the Rockwood! I wonder if they will be expecting such a loud act that early in the evening, hmmm...we'll show them what's what!

Well, that's about it for now. I hope to see some or all of you at one of these shows. New York has been good to me, I'd like to go out in style. :)

New Song Connection - Rough Mix up NOW!

Month long residency, Monday Nights in July at Kenny's Castaway!

Well, the title pretty much says it all! hehe...I will be playing solo shows every Monday night in July at Kenny's Castaway. This is going to be good times and I'm going to try and get some other great New York musicians to sing some songs with me if they will. So if you wanna just show up and play, by all means, do it!! The times vary so here's the list:

July 2 - 9pm

July 9 - 8pm

July 16 - 7pm

July 23 - 7pm

July 30 - 7pm

Come out after work for some drinks and some acoustic goodness...i'm going to be learning some covers for these shows for sure!!

And stick around for my friends Yarn, they play every Monday night at 10pm.

Good times will ensue...hope to see some of you there!

Myspace not so accessible for me anymore

Let me explain...I have a day job that I've had for almost 4 years. I sit at a desk all day and enter contracts, answer phones, draft letters, file things, etc...for over 3 years I have been making music and playing out in NYC and promoting our music here on myspace...now after 3 years of using myspace all day long, my office has decided they are going to BLOCK MYSPACE from me and all my collegues...this makes it almost impossible for me to keep up with all the friend requests, comments, etc like i used to...so, if you feel like i've ignored your comment or your message, i'm probably just too tired to check it once i've gotten home from work, internship, practice, gig, etc...i will slowly, but surely get to all messages...

it's just sad, that after all this time, my office feels the need to treat us like 5th graders and block certain sites...i'll have you know that FACEBOOK hasn't been blocked yet, but that's because it's kind of gay and a rip off of myspace anyway...and pretty much only the "kids" use it...hehe...but i digress...i just wanted to let all my myspace friends know that this is something that has happened and if you feel like i'm ignoring you, i swear i'm not...i just don't have the time to get back to everyone so quickly anymore...when i had access at work, like normal people do, I had time to do all my work, AND post replys to people and put up gigs, etc...now that has to be done on weekends and weeknights when i'm not exhausted...i really wish i wasn't treated like i'm a child at work, but alas I am...hopefully i won't have to deal with it much longer, Mandi is tired of working in a building in Times Square...

Here's to better times when we can all be treated like the adults we are and not have things "blocked" from us "for our own good"...thanks Big Brother...

New Album and the month of April

As some of you know, my birthday is at the end of April, April 30th to be exact, and I have no shows planned this month AT ALL.  That's partly because I'm lazy, and partly because I would like to start recording a new album.  The band and I have tons of songs we play at shows and people are like, hey, is that song on your EP?  No, sadly it's not, we need to record it still.  And that's a LAME answer, so I'd like to remedy that and start recording newer, and not so new, songs and get it out there!  Are you all ready for a full length LeBlanc record, I sure hope so...hehe...

Arcade Fire, The Marie Antoinette soundtrack, and Clap Your Hands Say Yeah!

So I started listening to some new records this weekend, and I have to say, The Arcade Fire is STILL one of my favorite bands, and they inspire me to write better music.  Their new album, Neon Bible, has a much bigger sound than Funeral or the EP did, but still delievers a packed punch!  With tracks like 'Keep The Car Running', the lead singer Win seems to be channelling Bruce Springsteen circa '82, and I love it!  hehe...not to mention that they are still brilliant songwriters.  Get this record!  I can't say enough about it...

The Marie Antoinette soundtrack is just a nice mix of classical music, pop/punk 80's classics such as Bow Wow Wow's 'I Want Candy' and modern tracks like The Strokes 'Whatever Happened'.  If you haven't seen the movie, you should.  Sofia Coppola always does a good job in my opinion, and she sure as hell knows how to choose a soundtrack, or how to choose good musicians to record original scores for her!  I dig it...maybe you will too...

Clap Your Hands Say Yeah...the new album, 'Some Loud Thunder' continues with the sound that they became famous with, or that David Byrne became famous with and they decided to sound like him! hehe...don't get me wrong, I am a CYHSY fan, I just wish I could understand the lead singer more, because when I read his lyrics, I just am in awe of the greatness of them...but then he sings them, and I can't understand a word...maybe that's part of the appeal?  I dunno, all I know is that they have a good sound, great lyrics, but no one can understand them. :(  It's too bad really...still, check out the new record.  My favorite track on it so far is 'Satan Says Dance'. 

I am going to try and write more in my blog...but, then again, I always say this...hehe...we shall see what happens...

Round 3 of American Idol has begun

Round 2 of American Idol Underground is over, and now it's on to Round 3!  The FINAL ROUND!   Which means this is the most important one.  This round is all about the listener votes, and that means YOU, the LISTENER!   This is the round that determines who the winner is and who gets the $20,000 cash prize, a cd pressing of their next album, bragging rights and a lot more!
