Ive noticed recently ive been using my 15mm fisheye pretty much all the time so I decided Id try and use my 50mm and the sigma 24-70 a bit more. I don't want to end up with the same looking photos all time! As usual the smaller room at the cockpit was pretty hard to shoot in but im happy with what I got!

Crazy festival in 4 venues at Leeds Uni. Some good bands and some crap. I photographed the best of the lot, although I did miss Random Hand and Sonic Boom Six who are ACE!!
The place was rammed full of folk, had to dash like a a mad man between stages and ended up pretty tired by the end of the day - and I only managed to drink 2 pints all day!! Very poor.

Johnny Truant and Cancer Bats are now my new favorite live bands!!! One of the best gigs Ive been to this year (and ive been to a lot!!). I caught the end of Hexes who warmed the crowd up for JT who invited the crowd onstage for the last song and it was complete chaos! Cancer Bats were good in Leeds on Sunday but they were on fire in Manchester! Next time there over here Ill be seeing them without my camera! Awesome show.

Had some fun with the Mike TV guys (Formerly Pickled Dick). Ill post some more photos from the shoot after the new album is released but heres a few i can put up.....
Fun and games with the door staff... i wasn't on the list so I nipped wound the back of he venue, got in and found the bands ;-) The band nipped down to see the door staff and put me on the list, at this point the door man realised i was already in the venue and asked how i got in! I said "i went in round the back" so he told me to go out through the back door and come back round to the front door.. wanker... So I went all the way back out the venue back to the front door and he let me in... wanker!!!
Putting all that aside the gig was great Johnny Truant are so much heavier live than I thought they were and Cancer Bats were really impressive. To be honest I don't know much about either band but today I got both their albums of itunes and they ROCK!!!!
Once again it was pretty hard to shoot at the small room at the Cockpit, crap lights and no crowd barrier. I managed to get some nice shots from the side of the stage though.

My mates Strip needed some photos so I went down to the practice rooms. The room has one strip light and I didn't want to use flash so I rammed the ISO up to 1600 and fired away, they came out quite dark grainy which works quite well.

I mentioned on my blog I got dragged onstage by Jim from Mindless Self Indulgence... well someone in the crowd caught the end of it on film. How bizarre......
Super gig tonight, really good atmosphere. The Mybe guys were previewing the new album and they had some great support, the Boardwalk was pretty close to full. Last time I shot the guys here rthe lights were terrible, this time the lighting guy bought out some new toys and let loose on the light show - great for me!!
I got my hands on a new 3 track album sampler and its fkin great!! Check em out... www.myspace.com/mybe

The ups and downs of music photography.... I turned up at the venue and picked up my photopass and went to have a chat with the bands before they went onstage but unfortunately Leeds Uni security have been replaced by Show Sec... evil evil Show Sec....... they wont let me upstairs to see the bands because I dont have an AAA pass. Last time I was here the Uni security were great, this time I cant do anything without security asking me what im up to!
Anyway I shoot Templeton Pek, who were great and get a few good shots. Leeds Uni is a great venue and has some great vatage points for taking photos - but you cant get them with a normal photopass!!??
After TP finish I found the tour manager and she kindly sorted me out with an AAA. So for Mindless Self Indulgence I managed to get shots from different angles from all over the stage and balcony. Oddly enough with a photopass I was told 'First 7 no Flash'??!! With the AAA they let me shoot the whole gig.
Also during the gig Jim the singer of MSI pulled me up on stage to get a photo of him and the crowd... how embarrassing. I didn't have anytime to set my camera up but I managed to get 1 ok shot!!
Turned out to be a great gig, despite the security...

After shooting Frank Turner is shot these guys the next day in another hard place for photos - sheffield corporation's small room, but jezzzz it was an awesome show. Ive never heard anything by these guys and was blown away by them. Moody ambient stuff, very very strange, and it was so LOUD!!! Check em out!
The lights worked against me the whole gig....ah well.
