Countdown to the Release of The Bride of Casa Dracula!
The days are flying by as I try to get ready for the release of The Bride of Casa Dracula on September 16.
The book has been getting some terrific reviews, and I thought I'd share some of them.
"Acosta's talent is staggering. In each of her Milagro de Los Santos novels, she shows readers all over again just how funny, ridiculous and thoroughly gifted she is at plotting. The story never lets up, and every character can be measured in great significance." Romantic Times, Four-1/2 Stars
"Fast paced, funny and hip - Marta Acosta's inimitable writing style makes The Bride of Casa Dracula a must read for vampire fiction fans. It also has a wide cross-over appeal and I would recommend this novel to anyone, even readers who wouldn't normally choose paranormal romance, since it has such a wide entertaining appeal. Loved it!" Love Vampires, Five Stars
"The Bride of Casa Dracula is an amazing book with some of the most intensely sexy and emotional scenes of the whole series." Vampire Genre
"..the fast-paced witty read that we have all come to enjoy from Marta Acosta. Yet it is so much more than that...This story has more twists and turns than the Hollywood Hills themselves and an ending that will leave you stunned. I'm on pins and needles waiting for the next installment in one of my new favorite series for this year." Bitten By Book, Five Stars
"OMG!! I can't get over how great this book is. I really liked the first two, but this is the best. I read so many books that I rarely get giddy over what happens, but this book made me giddy." The Book Girl
"This brilliant piece of work by Marta Acosta kept me up for a couple of nights, and when a book causes sleep deprivation, it simply means that I loved the book. The Bride of Casa Dracula is a great read because it is not filled with vampire stereotypes, It's unconventional, hip, fun, and exhileration!" The Fab and the Furious, Five Fab Stars
"The mystery in the story and new characters in this newest release will have readers on the edge of their seats with anticipation right till the end. Meanwhile the sexy, romantic and hilarious aspects all fans have come to enjoy and love are just as prominent as before." Paranormal Romance
Here's a newsletter for The Bride of Casa Dracula. Please share it with your friends!

I also run contests on my Vampire Wire blog, which has the latest news about paranormal and urban fantasy fiction, movies, books, and television shows. Right now, I've got a contest for an audiobook of Jim Butcher's Storm Front narrated by James Marsters, and there are more contests through the summer.
Since I'm busy with my deadlines, I've cut back on time here at MySpace. But I'm always happy to hear from readers. You can contact me at marta@martaacosta.com.
If you've got your own blog and would like to review my books, please write to me so you can receive a review copy.
Enjoy your summer!

Last Week to Enter Book Trailer Contest!
This is the last week to enter my Best & Worst Trailer for a Classic Novel Contest.
Here are a few of the entries I've received so far:
A Best Jane Eyre book trailer and a Worst (and very funny) Ulysses trailer.
Like many great ideas (including jet packs and robot maids), my book trailer contest is ahead of its time and there haven't been very many entries. So if you enter, your chances of getting a prize are about as excellent as the chances that Linsey Lohan will fail at rehab.
So enter! Here are the rules:
First Prize: Adobe Creative Design Suite 3 Premium, professional design package. (Value $1799) Second Prize: $300 Gift Certificate to Major Store (winner can select from list) Third Prize: Ten new novels from Simon & Schuster Honorable Mentions: $50 Amazon Gift Certificate (two winners)
Contestents may submit either a "best" version of a book trailer of a classic novel, or a "worst" version of a trailer. For the purposes of this contest, a classic was written by someone who is dead or doing a good imitation of being dead (i.e., J.D. Salinger).
Trailers must be 2:00 minutes or less.
Contestants must state whether they are submitting as an amateur or professional, and will be judged accordingly. Entries will be scored for creativity, design, and appeal to target audience for the best trailers; and for creativity and humor for the worst trailer
Contestants are allowed to submit up to four entries. Submissions must be posted on YouTube with "MA Contest" in the title. For example, "MA Contest: Best David Copperfield Trailer," or "MA Contest: Worst Huckleberry Finn Trailer."
The links must be sent to: contest@martaacosta.com.
Judges are: Michael Gough, Adobe Vice President Ron Hogan and Sarah Weinman of GalleyCatCandy Tan & Sarah Wendell, Smart Bitches Who Love Trashy Books Linsey, aka, Bookseller Chick

Colleen Gleason Interview & Book Giveaway!

Just a note that I'll be posting an interview with Colleen Gleason, author of the Gardella Vampire Chronicles, on my blog tomorrow, September 4. Colleen's books have been described as "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" meets Jane Austen. Yes, it's always so hard to balance one's social life with one's duty to protect the world from bloodsucking fiends -- especially in Regency-era London.
Colleen will be giving away a copy of one of her books, THE REST FALLS AWAY or RISES THE NIGHT, (winner's choice) to someone who leaves a comment. The contest ends on Friday.
Hope you'll come by -- www.martaacosta.blogspot.com
