"Goodnight Morning!"
Current mood: awake
Category: Life
I just lay there either tossing and turning, trying to force it to come, or I'm staring at a computer screen until the sun rises. For some reason as soon as I close my eyes my mind starts racing in circles or running in a million directions. I can't stop my brain. I used to sedate it with alchohol, and lots of it. I guess I'm more used to passing out and not falling asleep. I'm not depressed, in fact I'm very happy with my little life, and I don't think I'm better than sleep.
I've just forgotten how...
(also there's a cricket in my room and I can't find it)

Being sober is sobering
Current mood: drunk
I haven't had a drink in eight days. My goal was a week. It was really very easy, and I don't feel any better or worse, maybe a bit less lubricated if anything.
I think I'll try for one more week, or a month, eight days seemed way too simple. I will say this though, nearly every single person I've hung out with in the past week or so has offered to buy me a drink, and i appreciate them all, even if I declined. So thanks and cheers!

Deep in the bleeding heart of Texas
Current mood: chipper
So here I am in Austin for the first time and Im realizing I must have lost some of what I learned in the 7th grade, specifically my state capitals. As I look around this town Im awe struck to realize its the Texas state capital. I mean George fucking bush lived here, both of them, I saw the capital building and I cant even imagine it. The only things I dont like so far: 1) no black faces {they must be here somewhere, Ive seen like ten the whole week}
2) "keep Austin weird" is a terrible slogan
3) thats it, I cant think of anything else, I dont even mind the heat, there was no reason to number these
I stayed with Seth while I was here and between my late night schedule and his consistent car trouble I didnt get to see as much of the city as I would have liked. In return I did get to listen to a lot of records Ive been meaning to hear and spend time with a friend I havent seen for quite some time. Tonight Ill see the Frenchkicks and Futureheads, tomorrow is Band of Horses. Unfortunately both Beck and Sonic Youth sold out, but this was just a random week in Austin so I guess there will be other shows...
In summation eat breakfast tacos, listen to the new sonic youth and m. ward albums, and never ever take the bus unless you absolutely have to.
