New Character Design

This drawing is one of the production pieces for my comic. I've been doing portraits of the main characters to get a better feel of thier overall design. I did this one a little while ago, so technically, its not new. But its the first time I've made it available for public viewing. So I hope you enjoy it!

New artwork, sketchness

Been watching a little Naruto lately, I thought this character was particularly interesting. So I decided to do my own rendition, I may color it someday but I think the sketch stands on its own just fine. I do all my work on paper first, then scan it into my laptop where I use Painter 9 to color it. The laptop has touch sensitive tablet screen made by Wacom, so its a pretty natural way to color.  I think I'll go see Narnia tonight

Work in progress, and other news

I've been working so much lately that I've been neglecting my art portfolio site. I figured I would give myspace a try for a sketchblog and see if perhaps I could meet some new people around Sarasota. So without further ado! I present my first sketchblog entry.. or somesuch...

This is the base art for a flyer that I'm making, sans all of the neat text, cropping and logos. My friend Brian just opened up a comic book shop called The Dark Sidehere in sarasota and I'm making a flyer to help him advertise.  He wanted to have a character with dark hair and luminous eyes. So this is what I came up with. I finished the drawing in one sitting and my arm nearly fell off! I hope you enjoy it all you phantom readers!
