Awards, Anthologies, Other Stuff
Category: Writing and Poetry

My regular blog at http://mgddasef.blogspot.com has lots of new info.  It's hard to keep up with all the various and sundry blogs, but I try to get everything on that blog if nowhere else.  Here's the news:

- Tales of a Texas Boy is nominated for a Cybil Award.

- A Time To... anthology (I have a story there) is nominated for an Eppie Award.

- Wondrous Web Worlds 7 from Sam's Dot Publishing has just been released (I have a story in that volume).

Please see my regular blog for all the updates.  My father's in the hospital and my mother's not too healthy, so I just can't keep up with everything.  Gadzooks! This authoring stuff in hard work.  Help me out here and visit my website (http://marvadasef.com) or my blog (http://mgddasef.blogspot.com).

Thanks!!!!!!

Review: High Spirits
Category: Writing and Poetry

In the first few chapters, I was worried. They seemed kind of repetitive, going through all of the Fox sisters various rapping techniques, but then Ms. Salerni gets rolling and turns the book into a can't-put-it-down page turner. High praise for High Spirits? Yes, but I'm praising it in the context of what it is: a personal story of a young woman caught up in a lie that lasts for years, a lie she can't get out of even if it means losing the love of her life.

Interview with Ed Cox
Category: Writing and Poetry

Dasef Central Interview with Ed Cox

Sam's Dot Publishing has just released "Living Stone." The author, Edward Cox gives us a good old-fashioned vampire in London story.  Old Herne, a brutal serial killer, is being pursued by Detective Oscar.  He's looking for a particularly nasty killer, but he doesn't realize that Old Herne may be something more than a psychopath.  A thousand-year-old vampire is not going to be easy to bring to justice.

Read the interview with Ed on my blog for a taste of "Living Stone" and a bit of insight into this new novelist's thinking.

Large Print Edition of Tales

I've found that Tales of a Texas Boy has a great appeal to our venerable elders, that is, anybody older than I am. Thus, I created a large print version in 8-1/2x11 size book. This will only be available through me or on Lulu for awhile, but I'm applying for an ISBN and its price (now $11.95) will go up when it's set for the retail market. Since I've got two books to sell, I set up a Shopping Cart thingie through PayPal.

The buttons don't want to work inside this post so pop on over to my website and test them for me. Yes, you can cancel the order (or go ahead and buy a copy!).

Review - A Wager of Blood
Category: Writing and Poetry

For your reading pleasure, today's blog reviews a book by author J. W. Coffey. "A Wager of Blood" will curl your hair and set your heart pounding.

If you like horror, Wager will satisfy your desire for blood. If you like historicals, there's plenty of time spent in the 18th Century. If you like romance, there's some of that going on, too. That's not to say the book doesn't know where it's going; it does. It provides an interesting and balanced crossover of genres to interest a broad range of readers.

Read the review to find out more.
