I have really combed through all of my friends over the years to truly find what I call TRUE friends.  I am really enjoying my singleness right now most definitely.  No, not so I can flirt with whomever I want to or to just be available for the next guy on the list.  I seriously am enjoying the quality time with my friends, the spontaneous trips or getaways, the drooling over the lead singer of a band (that one's for you Briana!), the laughing out of my nose until I snort (ok, a little much here), but you get the point.  I have definitely been blessed with the best!!!  Thank you girls!

Deceit

Ok, so maybe I shouldn't be upset.  But it still bothers me. 

I broke up with Greg in April.  I went to dinner at my friend Jo and her husband's place last night.  Of course I'm going to hear the stories if an ex is talking in front of one of my best friends.  Am I not?  Well, at dinner, my friend assumed I knew this information I'm about to share and started rambling off stuff. 

To make a long story short, she was talking about how Greg wasn't over one of his exes from before me.  (she happened to have dinner with friends whom Greg was good friends with, so he was there talking freely about this)  I said "good for him" until I heard her give a name.  Molly?  You're kidding me?  Molly is his co-worker! Well?  Isn't that what he told me when we went out?  Ok, so she is his co-worker.  But, she's his ex too???  The one he had to go "work with" on Saturdays sometimes? 

Ok, so I trusted him.  And maybe he didn't do anything.  What hurts me most is that he COMPLAINED about Molly ALL the time...it was a daily ritual that I had to comfort him on.  Was I really conforting him on his ex?  WHOA?!  Slow down...that's crazy!  I told him where all my exes stand.  Couldn't I have the descency to know I was consoling him on an ex?  It's not fair. 

I feel deceited.  Not lied to.  Not cheated on.  But deceited.  Why do people have to try and tell as little as they can so others can "accept the fact"? I accepted she was simply a co-worker.  Was I oblivious?  No. Should I have asked for more detail?  No. I did nothing wrong.  Come to find out after talking to Greg, Molly is an ex, she is a co-worker, he does not have feelings for her, and he's sorry to have hurt me.  I don't care one way or the other.  I was still deceited.  I deserve someone that is open, loyal, trustworthy, and honest with me.  Is that so hard to ask?  Tell me.

The Ultimate Challenge

It's been a goal of mine for a couple years now and I haven't done anything yet to works towards it.  Yesterday, something clicked in me.  I thought of the good times I will have this weekend at my own birthday party.  Then I thought again and said "I'm going to be 28!  Yikes!  That is 2 years from being 30!"  So, with that being said, I stopped by the B. Dalton store at the Union Station metro stop to pick up some reading material.  Runners World October 2005 issue.  Yep, I'm going to do it.  I'm running my first marathon.  I told myself I will run one before my 30th birthday.  I even know which one I will be running for my first one.  The Arizona Rock and Roll marathon in Jan 2007.  Rock on!!!
