Looking forward to the future.....
Current mood: thoughtful
Category: Life

2006 has been a year full of changes for me. New experiences, good and bad, but one thing I can honestly say is that they've all been learning experiences. It's up to me to not let the past repeat itself and I guess if I were to make a new year's resolution, that would be it.

I forsee 2007 to be year of growing and development. Instead of trying to run away from problems which has always been the ideal for me, I must learn how to confront them and deal with them. I also need to learn how to let go of the past in order to move on with life successfully. The past is the past and quite frankly, I can't change the past. (Unless there's some sort of time machine out there that I don't know about lol)

In 2007, I'm working on a better social me. This winter break has given me time to think about life and what exactly is going on. I'm just going to live life on my terms and like the song on my page says "Get wasted on anything that's right". I'm bound to make mistakes, but doesn't everyone make mistakes? After all, I am human not this robot some people see me as.

I'm a work in progress, but isn't everyone at this point in life?

It's never goodbye......................It's See You Later
Current mood: full
Category: Life

So the summer for me is officially over. Tonight I leave for Utica, NY, the place where I will call home for four years. It sucks that the summer is ending so soon. I'm going to miss so many things about the city. :-(

The subway......... people may talk about how crappy the subway, but it allowed me to get up and go anywhere I needed to go without depending on a car. lol

All the Starbucks locations. I will no longer be in a place where Starbucks are like corner stores. You can find one in just about any area in Manhattan. (well I should say lower Manhattan) The Caffe Vanilla Fraps..... Don't be surprised when I come back if I'm feening for Starbucks lol.

The concerts........... There are so many concerts coming up this fall that sadly I'm going to miss. But I'm glad that I was able to go to the ones I did attend. I had a great time rock out with Tiffany and Liza to Circa Survive, Receiving End of Sirens, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Sonic Youth, Keating, Emanuel, Aiden, Warped Tour 2005 bands, Evanescence, Default,AFI, Nightmare of You and lets not forget 30 Seconds To Mars! lol. Those were good times.

Last night's party at G's house was so much fun. It was great seeing everyone again. In the future, we have to have something like that again. Maybe by then I'll be a dancer. lol.

Now I'll be able to experience something new. I'll never forget the people I've made friends with here. I've learned so much about myself and life in general from you guys. I don't regret any of the experiences because they've made me a stronger person in the end. I will always love you all for that.

So, this is not a goodbye. It's a see you later. I'll be back on some weekends and most definately on holidays. Anytime anyone is in Utica area, give me a call.

Be sure to keep in touch!

Catching Up
Current mood: relaxed
Category: Friends

Today was pretty good. I got my hair braided with box braids and I was able to spend time with an old friend. When I was getting my hair braided they had these African movies. They were pretty funny and the girls in them are so stupid.

There are these two guys that have anal sex with women to satisfy some type of ritual they have. When they have the anal sex with the women, the offer them mad money like 100,000 grand. So the women take the money and perform the anal sex. What they don't realize is that because they are having sex with the men, they are getting sick and soon will die. Two of the women figured it out and poisoned the two men in the end. It was a really weird movie. lol

I met with my friend near 66th street and we walked around a bit. We walked and talked and everything turned out real nice. I wore my vans today and now the back of my foot hurt. I think I should put bandaids on the back of them the next time I wear them. Other than that, they're really comfortable. I see why people love them.

I would post a song, but the myspace thing won't let me

Hard Rock Cafe
Current mood: surprised
Category: Food and Restaurants

Today, I went to the Hard Rock Cafe with Joseph and Liza and I can't believe all these years I've lived in the City, and I've never been there. It's amazing how many restaurants there are in the city, that I've never been to. lol

We walk in and there's no wait for us. Then again, there was only three of us. I've read in many reviews that there's normally a long wait, which explains why I was shocked we immediately sat down.

Overall, the service was great. They played a lot of songs we haven't heard in a while. They even played some Diana Ross and Bob Marley. The food was great. I'm surprised I've never gone there before. I think it's because I assumed since it's in Times Square, it's has to be OD expensive, but surprisingly it wasn't. The prices were similar to Olive Garden Prices, so it wasn't that bad.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs/Sonic Youth 8-12-06
Category: Music

So another concert at McCarren Park Pool yesterday. That concert was so much fun. My legs hurt from standing for a long period of time, but other than that, it was great.

For more pictures of this concert, go to My Yeah Yeah Yeahs/Sonic Youth Photobucket Album

The Awesome Color............. Of all local bands to pick, they picked this one. I have to say they were so uncoordinated. One of the singers, it looked like he was going to scratch the guitarist back. He looked drunk as all hell. I don't have anything against being drunk on stage, but just don't make it obvious. It doesn't look attractive. lol.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs......................... Best Performance of the night. They are fuckin awesome live. I didn't really know the songs off the second album, but from what I heard I like them. I also bought a shirt of theirs with the lyrics to Maps on it. I love that song. lol I really liked her costume. She always has original costumes.

Sonic Youth........................... Didn't know that they were out for mad long. They are a great band and I can see why they have many followers. I was really getting into this band. One of their songs confused me a lot, but other than that, they were great.

Me after the concert. Liza has all the group pictures. Once I get them, I'll post.

Overall, the concert was awesome. It was definately worth the money I paid for it.

Circa Survive Concert
Category: Music

So I was able to go to a few concerts this summer which makes my day.

Circa Survive at Irving Plaza was a good show. You would have thought that Receiving End of Sirens was the main band by the way people were going crazy.

To View More Pictures, go to My Circa Survive PhotoBucket Album.

Keating.... I have to say I like this band. They play the type of music I can really get into. I bought their album. It was only like 5 bucks. I signed up for their mailing list because if they ever play in Utica, I would definately go see them. I was talking to their Rep at the shirt stand and he seemed really cool. Turns out he was born in Amsterdam, NY. lol

Portugal The Man was the second band to perform. They were okay. They had this song called The Devil which had like a country vibe to it, but it was good. I really liked it. It was something new and original. Not something I hear everyday.

The Receiving End Of Sirens........... They kicked ass. They were awesome. They really got the crowd pumped up and turns out I knew one of their songs without even realizing it. lol. They really are a great band and I'm glad they were there. You would've thought they were the main band. Everyone was singing along and a few people even left after they performed. lol

Circa Survive............... The main band. They were okay. They weren't as good as I expected them to be. There were times where it felt like the singer could not sing at all. But the time they sang Act Apalled, the concert was better. That's when I really started to get into it.

Me and Liza Afterwards. We asked a million people take pictures of us and only a few came out right. They're on Liza's camera. When I get them, I'll post. The person who took this picture should not consider a career in photography lol.

Me holding my Twlight Army Tour Poster and Keating CD.

Overall, I had fun that night. It was a great concert overall.

AFI
Current mood: exhausted
Category: Music

The AFI concert was great!

The line was mad long. Roseland is on 52nd between 7th and 8th. The line started on 52nd, went along Broadway, was crossed with the line for the Color Purple, went down 53rd street, and around 8th avenue.

We get inside and Nightmare of You is on stage. They are pretty good. The second Dillinger Plan or something that was......................................... crazy! . There were too many bright lights and I couldn't really hear the lyrics because all the guy did was scream. I have nothing wrong with screaming in rock songs, but I would like to hear an actual singing voice in a song.

Before AFI came out there was mad pushing and everything. My poor big toe felt most of the pain. It's like everyone kept stepping on my big toe and no other part of my foot. I wanted to crowd surf at this concert, but I saw like 6 people fall. I mean really fall, it was funny. Once I saw that, I was like Oh Hell No!

Overall, the concert was fun! My hair got messed up from all the sweat. lol I got in trouble a little bit because I didn't call my father after it is was over. Oh well, he'll live. I'm still here right? College is in a few months and then it's going to be like call who? lol.

Who knew?
Current mood: rushed
Category: overwhelmed Writing and Poetry

Who knew writing a speech would be so damn hard? I've having trouble doing the simplest thing. It's annoying! This week is like jammed packed with stuff and I have to write my speech in less than week. I have to take that certification test Wednesday, Physics regents on Thursday, and I just had a scholarship interview yesterday. I hope I get it because that's $5,000 for me.

I feel like I'm becoming a procrastinator. Not that I have a problem with procrastinators, I just never considered myself to be one.............well until now. lol I'm just hoping I can come up with something great that no one can be upset about. Then again, this is my speech and I should write it towards what other people want. I think that's why I'm having trouble writing it. Also, I don't know what's appropriate and what's not appropriate to include. Like I don't want to put in it that a running joke we have with one of the teachers is that he's a male stripper. It's funny, but I don't think parents or families (well I know my family won't, they'll be like "what the hell was going on in your school" lol)  will see it that way. lol Then I heard that we can't be teacher specific, so how the hell am I supposed to these memories of teachers and staff, if I'm technically not supposed to include them

I'm about to be like fuck it and break all the "rules". I hate feeling restricted because it makes everything more difficult. Maybe I should write the speech as one of my blogs. After all, I can make really long blogs if I have a lot to say. That'll probably be my best bet.

I'm supposed to see my mentor today and maybe she can help me out. I'm open to any suggestions at this point.

I'm just glad Friday is relief from the craziness of this week.
AFI here I come!
