Second Edition to Come

Alas, for those of you how have gotten my novel this year, you're in luck... because it will likely become a collector's edition. Here's why:

Since I haven't gotten a Literary Agent yet or a book deal (but I am still shopping), looks like I am going to have to edit The First Sign myself. I have been kind of holding off for some time hoping and praying that I wouldn't have too, because I would have obtained a literary agent and a professional editor by now. Granted I have been busy with book 2, life and stuff to hit the laborious chore of writing more agents and so not much has happened.

So what does this mean? It means that I am going to go over the book again for the 100th time and comb out the flaws that made it to print last year. When I am done, I am going to upload the 2nd edition in LULU, pay for the ISBN again so the changes can be applied and return to working on Book 2. So in a week, Book 2 goes on hiatus--that or I will be working on them at the same time. The content and story will not change, but some of the wording might in places. In the end I hope that the second edition will be close to perfect. I hope to have it to you all before I am 30. I will let everyone know the definitive Second Edition uploading date, when I am closer to it. That way from now until then you all can get the last copies of the first editions while they exist--flawed and filled with potential.

Thanks all. And please, don't tell me where the errors are or what they are... nothing is more annoying then that--I prefer to find them on my own. I prefer personal flogging then stones being thrown... which is what it feels like when people tell me about the errors. Honesty is the best policy, sorry if that is so frank. Okay, so thank you to all who have helped me and told me about the errors, this is not an attack, but a thank you for your input... now I must go face the literature and fix it on my own.

Corrections

Hey ya'll. I am not perfect, I am well aware of this. I am doing a last run-through to make sure things are right and I noticed that there were several mistakes in the chapters presented. Missing words and comma abuse in the first chapter, double sentences and weird wording in chapter two and some missing words, wrongly italics words in the third. I think I got them all.

I have updated the chapters to reflect the corrections made. I would like to apologize for those of you who had to endure my mistakes. After seeing this book for the 20th time or so, things get missed, looked over, weirdly placed... and sometimes doubled... and sometimes doubled. :D Just kidding. The thing is, this is a learning experience for me, and I am doing the best I can. I feared sharing the pages with you all, because I knew this would likely happen. I have reviewed the files and corrected what I saw. I have tired to make them as good and as perfect as I can. Thank you for your patience.

God, I hope this works... Google Checkout makes no sense to me, it is not easy to use when it comes to making it work into a pre-ordering system... but it is free, so, I did my best to make it make work.

It may be the lamest thing ever, but I was playing with a few fun features on my computer just to see. What am I babbling about? Mercury's first commercial. I have another I am working on, but that will be shared once all the kinks are ironed out.

News and details on the book... as of today the pre-order date is still on schedule. I am looking at hopefully April 20th to start collecting pre-orders for the book. I will keep you posted. Thanks everyone for your endless support.

It's official, Mercury Brightman: The First Sign is scheduled to be release June 2, 2007. It will be available for online ordering only through Amazon.com, BarnsandNoble.com, and Lulu.com. You will also be able to pre-order copies directly through me. Autograph requests can be made, but only on the books ordered directly through me. The first edition of the novel will be a Printed-On-Demand. It will be produced by MISSMARYPOTTER BOOKS and published by Lulu, INC.

Countdown Widgets have been made, along with a temperamental RSS feed that keeps mysteriously deleting it..s contents. I am replacing it when I see that my code is missing on a daily basis. Forgive me when it disappears, I am working to fix the problem. A Mac Dashboard widget has been created to house it regardless.


An official newsletter has been created too via Yahoo Groups!. I am running a one-woman show, so please be patient if I forget to update a blog or newsletter, however I am trying. Thanks all! More news to come in the coming months!
