Edit for the evening

So I usually save "blogging" for livejournal, but I felt like getting this out here since--well, I don't know. Those of you involved know what I'm talking about. The rest of you--don't worry about it too much.

Anyway, special props to Matt and Steve for listening to me when I need it. And goodness knows Steve's heard more of it than he should have to.

I will say that what I think happened is akin to mob frenzy. I think people meant everything they said, but they were saying it more passionately or simply just more of it) than normal judgment would allow.

I've been physically sick from the stress of it, and I couldn't figure out why until I really looked at how much I cared about it all.

I'm just too pretty to care that much. Steve and I were stressed out to the point it was affecting both the emotional and physical aspects of our relationship. Nothing is worth that.

This is a game. I'm not losing anything in this. There are people with whom I have formed personal friendships, and I haven't lost them in it. That would be the worst case scenario. Anything after that is secondary. I can take the game seriously without investing so much of myself in it.

I'm not planning on taking a break from it unless I feel the in-game climate indicates I should. Steve and I may do some server hopping in the meantime for more of a break.

One of the other guys from the guild summed it up when he said that if he wanted arguments, he'd go visit his family. That's a lot if it, I think.

It's a game. I'm playing to have fun, do something a little more out of the box, and just kinda dick around, preferably with some other random people that I find tolerable.

I'm at the point where I can do that again. I think it's also done wonders for me to be away from an internet connection for a few days. I read the forums a while ago and didn't feel like throwing up, so I figured that's a good sign.

One thing that I find reassuring is that a few nights ago, everyone was able to put things aside for a pretty fun 'vette run. I watched the whole thing over Steve's shoulder and it some hotkey buttons for him. :) It was like I was helping.

Anyway, I don't think some of the differences that emerged will go away--and they really shouldn't be totally ignored--but I'm hoping we'll all keep moving to a place where we can know we're different but work from there.

And one of the other players was right when he said Steve and I don' fit in with the guild. I really don't think we do, entirely. There are opinions I have that I'm comfortable just not sharing unless someone really wants to know. But usually, they probably don't want to know. And that's okay. It's usually not worth it because it's more important to them than me. I think the reverse is true is as well.

I just don't really know anymore, other than I feel pretty beaten down by all this and I really shouldn't.
