LAST UK GIG THIS YEAR

Midlake play their final UK show of the year in just 2 weeks time. and what a final show it promises to be. They have been asked to headline the wonderful End of the Road Festival.

The festival takes place from the 14th - 16th September, has a friendly and relaxed feel and the Larmer Tree Gardens (North Dorset/Wiltshire borders, UK ) is the perfect venue to create this kind of atmosphere - where music-loving, open minded and chilled out people get together in the beautiful countryside whilst parrots and peacocks wander around! Rare Midlake EP, 'Milkmaid Grand Army' Available Now!!!
The long awaited re-release of Midlake's 2001 EP 'Milkmaid Grand Army' is now a reality. Available now in the US only on Basement Front Records, the seven-song EP was originally released independently almost 6 years ago in November of 2001. The initial pressing was a modest 1000 copies and, once the stock was depleted, the band decided to cease production, making the recording a rare collectors' item. That is, until now. With the release of Milkmaid Grand Army, Midlake reveals the beginning stages of a music career that has proven prosperous and continues to gain momentum. Midlake's latest album 'The Trials of Van Occupanther', released on Bella Union Records has already sold thousands of copies worldwide and promises further success. Midlake Nominated for TWO MOJO AWARDS!!!

Midlake nominated for TWO MOJO awards!Midlake have been nominated for both the MOJO BEST ALBUM and MOJO BREAKTHROUGH ACT, two of their most prestigious categories. For Best Album they are up against Bob Dylan, Amy Winehouse, Grinderman and The Good, The Bad and The Queen. In the MOJO Breakthrough Act they are up against Joanna Newsom, The Hold Steady, Seasick Steve and The View. Impressive company to say the least, and worth mentioning that Arctic Monkeys are the only other band to receive two nominations.

CHEERS TO 2006, HERE'S TO 2007!
hello friends. we just wanted to take a minute to once again thank all of you for supporting us this past year. it means a lot to us, and we hope to come and play for as many of you as possible in 2007. we will also begin work on our next album, which to say the least, are very excited about! this year has been the most rewarding year for us and we are floored to see so many of the end-of-year lists including, "the trials of van occupanther" in the their top 10, 100, or whatever. it is an honor.

MIDLAKE VIDEO CONTEST
The Videos of Van Occupanther Cover the Hillsides
Bella Union & World's Fair present a 10-week long series of Midlake videos on YouTube and a music video contest.
The Video Series
Bella Union and World's Fair are excited to announce a 10-week long marathon of Midlake music videos to celebrate the international online launch of Midlake's new single and video, "Head Home". This 1-of-a-kind campaign will be complimented by a contest to create a music video for Midlake's "It Covers the Hillsides", the only song from Midlake's critically acclaimed "The Trials of Van Occupanther" album that is still without a music video.
The music video marathon will offer music lovers the chance to embrace the rich visual representations contributed by filmmakers and fans obsessed with the myths and secrets of Midlake's critically acclaimed "The Trials of Van Occupanther". This includes the videos used for visual backdrops during Midlake's live set that have been discussed endlessly on blogs and messageboards, as well as never-before-seen videos from "The Trials of Van Occupanther" and the band's debut release, "Bamnan & Silvercork". Members of Midlake also share their thoughts on the making of the videos with commentaries accompanying each video.
The festivities kick off on Monday, September 25th with the international premiere of "Head Home" on Spin.com . Following videos will be premiered courtesy of long-time Midlake fans Pop Matters, Stereogum, Prefix Mag, and of course, Gorilla Vs. Bear.
All the videos will be permanently available on www.worlds-fair.net via World's Fair's YouTube Channel: www.YouTube.com/worldsfair . We encourage everyone to post the video player on your blog, webzine or social network profile. Kick off your snow shoes, grab some popped corn polonaise and stay tuned for a fresh Midlake video every Monday!
The Contest
Via YouTube, fans and budding video directors are invited to submit their own video for Midlake's "It Covers the Hillside". The track will be available for download exclusively from www.worlds-fair.net and www.bellaunion.com until the submissions deadline of Nov. 13th.
A list of finalists will be made based on ratings and views from the YouTube community, and then the final winner will be selected by Bella Union and Midlake. The winning video will be featured for download on various websites including www.bellaunion.com and www.worlds-fair.net, and the winner director will receive a prize pack of autographed Midlake merchandise and memorabilia.
