Haunter for Hooters has gained COFFIN LOADS attention since the launch just a few weeks ago.  Haunted House owners, Haunt vendors, Haunt Actors, Horror celebrities and many more are joining the fight against breast cancer.  Donations are coming in by the HEARSE FULL!

HAUNTERS FOR HOOTERS IS MORBIDLY EXCITED TO ADD THE FOLLOWING TO OUR DRIVE!

·         Bobbie Wiener, AKA World Famous "Bloody Mary" has offered to auction off HERSELF to the highest bidder at the Silent Auction. Bidding will start at $3000.00 (plus RT Air and Hotel). Bloody Mary will come to the highest bidders' HAUNT for a make-up demo and appearance.  Money raised from the Bloody Mary auction will go directly to Kathryn DeSautell.

·         Chuck Williams from "Bubba Ho-Tep" and "Halloween-The Haunting of America" will emcee the Silent Auction on Sunday, June 15th from 10am-12om.

Haunters for Hooters has some very exciting news! Lola Davidson, who appeared on "SEARCH FOR THE NEXT ELVIRA" has agreed to donate her dress she wore on the show! This item will be one of the  SPECIAL raffle items with money gong to Kathryn DeSautell. Another raffle item will be an ORIGINAL GRANDPA MUNSTER DOLL from 1964, signed by Al in Gold. Item was given to Jen Sharlow when she was Al Lewis' personal assistant.

 

We have also received a GREAT item from Ernie Hudson from "The Ghostbusters". Not only did he send a signed photo, he has donated a signed "GHOSTBUSTERS 1 COMIC" in mint condition!

 

Camden Toy from Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel will be donating autographs as well as the beautiful Pat Priest AKA Marilyn Munster! Dee Snider will also be sending some KILLER things our way!

 

Tom Straub has created a BEAUTIFUL art print of Nancy Allen, AKA Elmyra the Hearse Chic. These prints will be available at the Haunters for Hooters Booth at Midwest Haunters Convention in 11x14.

MHC Social Events

Haunters will Rock at MHC Social Events!

 The Midwest Haunters Convention (MHC) and Fantasy Show (MFS) June 12-15, 2008 in Columbus, Ohio will feature numerous entertainment events for haunters and Halloween enthusiasts.   From frightening bus tours to outrageous parties, guests will have lots of time to rock with fellow haunters while showcasing their characters.  Our social events include the following:

 ..   Thursday June 12th bus tour to Southwest Ohio includes; coach transportation, 4 frightening Haunted Attractions, Snacks, Beverages, Dinner & Souvenir T-shirt.  Haunts include Ripper's Revenge, St. Rita Haunted House, Dent Schoolhouse and the Haunted Castle of Carnage & Trail.  You'll explore the newest haunted attraction in Ohio built by Oak Island and one of the oldest haunts in the state.

       Friday June 13th Midsummer Night Scream bus tour includes;

.. An open house tour of Scarefactory, with a reception at their new facility.  Tour their showroom while enjoying food and beverages.  First ever silent auction of props used by Scarefactory at the Playboy mansion.

 ..The House of Nightmares offers self guided tours through an ancient factory in the old brewery district.  Guest actors join an enthusiastic group of performers for a night of entertainment in multi themed large attraction.

 
A Club Vampire party at BoMA, the Bar of Modern Art.  A gothic church built in 1898 hosts a traveling nightclub event for Vampires, Goths and Haunters.  Three floors of entertainment with five bands, DJ's, haunt performers and artwork surrounded by a vampire themed Castle.   Midnight Syndicate and Dental Distortions are sponsoring this awesome party!

 
Charter buses will be running from 6:00 pm through 1:00 am making the rounds to all three stops from the Hyatt throughout the night.

.    . -Saturday night June 15 IAHA Masquerade Party includes:

     A Body Art Fashion Show features some of the best body painters from around the country.  Our models will be body painted with a Halloween Fantasy theme and perform as they strut across the stage. Chuck Williams will entertain us with finesse while introducing our models.

    Ten contestants will be competing for the title of the Scariest Woman in the Midwest. The Ms Midwest Scary Pageant was rated as one of the top '13 Freaky Attractions' by AOL Online in the US.    Crazy Bob Turner will  emcee our Saturday night contests with flair!

 

    During the party; our judges will be handing out 10 invitations to compete in our Scariest Character Contest.   Haunters provide our entertainment with outrageous characters on stage.

 

..   Saturday afternoon Bloody Mary Monster Makeup Wars.  Five teams compete for cash and prizes as they get 30 minutes to create a monster from the neck up.  Crazy Bob Turner will emcee the contest as our fellow haunters show us how to utilize Bloody Mary makeup supplies and household items with unbelievable results!

 

The Midwest Haunters Convention attracts haunted attraction producers, actors, makeup artists, entertainers and home haunters.  This will be the 5th year for this growing event.  There's free admission to the two day Exhibitor Trade Show with over 115 exhibit booths.  The trade show hours are 9 am - 5 pm Saturday June 14 and Sunday June 15.

The Haunted Attraction Industry joins the fight against breast cancer. Some of the most prominent names that make "Scary" their business are pulling every skeleton out of the ground to raise money for Nancy Allen, a fellow Haunter/pervious Haunt Owner.  Allen, who is also known as "Elmyra, the Hearse Chic", was misdiagnosed in August 2008 with doctors stating "only a Cyst".  On December 25th, Allen was diagnosed with Stage 3 Cancer, causing her to have one breast removed with no insurance.

The Official Drive,"Haunters for Hooters", will take place at Midwest Haunters Convention in Columbus, Ohio June 13-15th.   Included in the sponsor list are BIG names like "Midnight Syndicate Films and Soundtracks", "IAHA", "Haunted Attraction Magazine", "Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights in Orlando", The Ghoulish Gallery", Dee Snider from Twisted Sister,  Pat Priest from "The Munsters" and Camden Toy from "Angel and Buffy the Vampire Slayer" just to name a few.

The organizers of the Midwest Haunters Convention are excited to announce the much anticipated details of their Friday Night bus tour - A Midsummer Night Scream!

Kicking off the on the evening of June 13th 2008, the tour will first head to The Scarefactory. David Fauchman, owner of Scarefactory, has graciously offered to open his brand new facility and showroom to guests of MHC. At the Scarefactory, participants will be treated to a tour of the facility, food and beverages, and a silent auction of props built for, and used at, the ..:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Playboy Mansion. This is your opportunity to purchase one of a kind props from The Scarefactory.

After this stop, tour guests will be treated to a tour of the House of Nightmares and a Club Vampire Party. Both of these activities will be open throughout the rest of the evening with bus transportation being provided between them.

The House of Nightmares was the featured stop at the second MHC. In a new downtown Columbus location, owner Dave Treisch is excited to be hosting the bus tour once again. Located in the historic Brewery District, this stop promises to be a unique experience!

A new event for MHC's Friday night activites is a party jam packed with live music! In collaboration with Club Vampire and Rich Hanf, and hosted by the Bar of Modern Art (BoMA), the haunt industry's first live horror concert will feature performances by Robert Frankenburg, The Scab 5, Symphonic Sacrifices, Hematosis, Razorbliss, Red Sky Rising, and Der Nister. Set in a 19th century church, and decorated by Club Vampire, this is an event not to be missed! Sponsored by Midnight Syndicate and Dental Distortions.

The Midwest Haunters Convention (MHC) is pleased to share education and event information for its sister event: the Midwest Fantasy Show, 13-15, 2008; in Columbus Ohio. The Midwest Fantasy Show is sponsored by Wolfe Face Art and FX and is held in conjunction with the Midwest Haunters Convention.

 

The Midwest Fantasy Show (MFS) is a weekend event, June planned for family entertainers including professional Makeup Artists, Face and Body Painters, Airbrush Artists, Henna, Magicians, Balloon Twisters, and more.   The Midwest Fantasy Show features education designed to appeal to a variety of audiences including artists, entertainers and business owners.  

 

The Midwest Fantasy Show will offer classes taught by expert makeup, entertainment and business leaders through workshops and seminars being also made available at the Midwest Haunters Convention.  Registration for the weekend registration is only $89; or $75 before April 1, 2008.

 

The Midwest Fantasy Show showcases classes in makeup instruction - in addition to those offered by the MHC.  Of special interest to haunted attraction makeup artists are the airbrushing and water-based makeup classes.  Water-based makeup is relatively new and is gaining increasing popularity among haunts.  Other classes that may appeal to some haunters/actors include clowning, juggling and balloon twisting.  These types of skills can be developed into a profitable enterprise operating year around.  If you are interested in this type of business, classes are offered on that as well.  

 

Seminars will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2008 and Sunday, June 15, 2008.

The weekend Vendor Trade Show is FREE!  The public is welcome.   The MHC/MFS Tradeshow will feature a 25,000 square foot tradeshow floor with 100 vendor booths. The tradeshow will be open Saturday, June 14 and Sunday, June 15 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

 

The Midwest Fantasy Show will kick off with a Welcome Reception on Friday, June 13, 2008 followed by a Friday the 13th Makeup Artist and Entertainers Jam Session.  Guests will be entertained at a reception featuring a free practice jam session for makeup artists, entertainers and others. 

 

The Midwest Fantasy Show will host a Halloween Fantasy Body Art Fashion Show on Saturday night sponsored by Sophisticated Terror Productions.  This is a unique presentation of models body painted by a select group of industry artists.  Additional evening activities will feature the International Association of Haunted Attractions Masquerade Party with dancing, food, costume contests and the infamous Ms Midwest Scary Pageant.   For the past two years; the Ms Midwest Scary Pageant was rated as one of the top '13 Freaky Attractions' by AOL Online in the US.  These events combine professional elements of horror, fantasy and fun and are quite sensational to observe! 

 

The Midwest Haunters Convention, sponsored by CostumeFind.com, is a weekend industry showcase event for Haunted Attraction Producers, Scene Decorators, Actors, and Home Haunters.   It provides educational seminars and workshops, and an exciting variety of unique social activities.

 

The Midwest Fantasy Show and Midwest Haunters Convention will be held concurrently June 13-15, 2008 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center.  The Hyatt Regency will be the host hotel for over a thousand Halloween and entertainment enthusiasts.

The Midwest Haunters Convention is a weekend event planned for Haunted Attraction Producers, Actors, Scene Builders and Home Haunters taking place June 13-15, 2008. Attend educational seminars and workshops with experienced presenters, a 100+ exhibitor booth tradeshow with the latest in Halloween and haunt offerings, and a place to network with others in the industry during our unique social activities. The "Getting Started in the Haunt Industry" class will provide you with a great start on your investment in this unique industry.  The class starts with:   

 

8:00 am  The Business Plan - Tim & Ann Marie Gavinski from Nightmares4You; Morgan Manor and Torment haunted attractions.  Their attraction was rated the 2007 1 Haunted House in Wisconsin.  Tim is the president of IAHA, the International Association of Haunted Attractions.   They will share their business plan that took them from home haunter to owners of two awesome attractions.

 

This class is a must for anyone considering starting a haunted attraction.  From financing to operations and marketing; they'll help you prepare for your first season.  You could save thousands of dollars avoiding costly mistakes.

 

Noon – 1:00 Lunch on your own (food court is nearby)

1:00 pm  Industry Fire Codes for Haunted Attractions – Representatives from the Ohio State Fire Marshal's office will review the basics of fire codes and code designations pertaining to the haunted attraction industry.  Understanding the basics of meeting fire codes is essential when operating a haunted attraction.

 

2:00 pm  Designing From the Inside Out - Leonard Pickel, Editor of 'Haunted Attraction Magazine'.  Leonard graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in architectural design. In the 28 years since, he has taken that education and honed it into the specialty field of Haunted Attractions, designing over 70 attractions across the country and around the world for clients including Universal Studios Florida, Madison Square Garden, and several Six Flags amusement parks. In this thought provoking session Leonard will explain how he uses his Architectural education and experience to design terrifying Haunted Attractions, and how you can use his methods to strike terror into the hearts of your patrons.

 

This is a comprehensive step by step seminar on designing a Haunted Attraction using the architectural principal of "form follows function".  Learn how Leonard uses storyline, lighting design, soundscape, realistic sets, uncomfortable spaces, unexpected high startle scares, timing, and the order and location of rooms to create a roller coaster of thrills for haunt patrons. Also covered in this in-depth session are throughput considerations, attraction layout, how to protect your actors and making sure that the end of the group gets the same experience as the first person.

The Pageant will be held Saturday, June 14, 2008 during the IAHA* Masquerade Party.  Registration is open for 10 contestants to compete for the highly coveted title, along with cash and prizes.  MHC will be at the Convention Center in Columbus, Ohio June 13 – 15, 2008.  The Party will be held at the Hyatt Regency, our host hotel.  *International Association of Haunted Attractions.

 

The Ms Midwest Scary Pageant provides haunted attraction female characters with the opportunity to perform on stage with a frightening appearance and performance!    "Crazy Bob" Turner, from the Haunted Hydro, will be the Master of Ceremonies. The MHC hosts several contests giving Actors and Actresses, Makeup Artists and others a chance to compete with their peers. 

 

Contestants are encouraged to recruit a haunted attraction or business to sponsor them, but only one contestant per sponsor.  Entry requires contestant register through the web site at www.MidwestHauntersConvention.com  or call Kathy at 614-459-4746.

 

The Midwest Haunters Convention is sponsored by www.Costumefind.com .  MHC is a show for the haunted attraction industry and attracts haunters from around the country for shopping, learning and social activities. 

 

The Midwest Fantasy Show is returning with the Saturday night Body Art Fashion show.  Ten artists from around the country will be body painting their models with a Halloween Fantasy theme.  We'll start the party Saturday night with our models showcasing their artwork on stage.  

 

The party continues with the Scariest Character Contest. This contest attracts some of the most frightening characters to a masquerade party.   Our guests are invited to arrive in character and stay in character throughout the evening.  Our judges are roaming around the party handing out a total of 10 invitations to compete on stage.

Scariest Monster Creation wins a Cruise!

The Midwest Haunters Convention (MHC) is excited to announce the
return of our 5 th Annual Bloody Mary Monster Makeup Wars competition.
Our grand prize will be a Cruise for two on the Bloody Mary & Crazy
Bob Haunted Moonlight Fantasy Cruise. Five teams will compete (2
make-up artists and a model) with identical Bloody Mary make-up
supplies to create a monster from the neck up in 30 minutes.

The competition will begin at 4:30 pm on Saturday, June 14 th during
the Midwest Haunters Convention. To register your team log on to

of the best makeup teams in the country create their monsters on
stage. Bring your makeup artists and camera for tips on FX applications.

Our Grand Prize, a Cruise for two, is a 7 day trip out of Galveston ,
Texas Jan 25- Feb 1 st 2009 on the Carnival Ship, Conquest. You'll
cruise the Western Caribbean with stops at Montego Bay , Grand Cayman
and Cozumel . The Bloody Mary cruise is valued over $1,100.

The Bloody Mary Cruise is a vacation with haunters on a party fun
ship. A January trip to a warm location is the perfect after season
get-away. Enjoy seminars, contests and parties with costumed
characters too.

The Midwest Haunters Convention is a gathering of haunters from around
the country for shopping, learning and social activities. We host
several contests giving haunters a chance to compete with their peers
in a friendly environment. This is their chance to meet with friends
and share costumes and characters. You'll see some of the most
outrageous characters over the June weekend in Columbus , Ohio .

The Midwest Fantasy Show will be returning to join us with the
Saturday night Body Art Fashion show. Both shows attract some of the
