2008 HUZZAH’S MYSPACE PHOTO CONTEST RULES & INFO

This is purely something that's myspace specific. Winners will receive a small prize package along with their image posted in the gallery page & blogged for your bragging rights. This is a non-profit competition, purely for fun. There is no fee for entry. You must be on the friends list and abide by the rules to enter. Some slight changes have been made in the rules from last year. Tell everyone !
PRIZES:
All prizes will be photographed and displayed in the gallery page once they have been picked up. A HUGE thanks to those that have provided some prizes for this contest. At this time, the 2008 prize gods are

CATEGORIES:
1. BEST OVERALL SCENE:
Overall images can be of any subject matter. No portrait style allowed here. The object in this category is to capture the stage act, joust, musical group, food, building, moment, etc... in a scene.
2. BEST CANDID:
Candid & Portrait Style. Un-posed & Posed 'un-posed preferred'. Human, Animal or Thing.
SUBMISSIONS:
Digital contest only. Submissions must be sent as a myspace e-mail. Submission dates open Sept. 30, 2008 and must be e-mailed by midnight on Oct.17 2008. The e-mail should contain the following:.........
A. The Photo. 'If you are unable to send your photo, place it in your myspace gallery and I will save it. Title the photo caption as either HUZZAHS OVERALL or HUZZAHS CANDID. Caption title tells me which category your submission is for.
B. Photo Caption.
C. Name 'or myspace screen name' of who took the photo for photo credit.
D. What category you are entering into.
E. No exceptions.
You are more then welcome to TAG you contest entries but that does not eliminate any part of the submission process. If you may have any questions about the submission process or need help in submitting your photos, give me a myspace e-mail with your questions. Do not delay / procrastinate and end up missing deadlines.
JUDGING:
Oct. 18 - Nov. 3. Judging will then be done by votes from those on the myspace friends list. When you find the photo you want to vote for, just simply add a 'My Vote' comment to that photo. ROCK THE VOTE PEOPLE ! Only 1 vote per category please. You can vote for your own submission. I will not be adding new friends to the page during the run of the contest as last year there was a rise in the friends list during the voting process, then a drop in the list after the contest was over. Votes from any deleted profiles will not count.
Winners announced on Nov. 4 via a blog.
RULES:
1. Photo submissions must be taken inside the gate during the 2008 MN Festival.
2. This contest is available for the General Public, Cast Members & MAF Front Office Team that are on the friends list. You Must Be On The Myspace Friends List To Enter !
3. Must be 18 years of age or older.
4. By submitting photos, you are agreeing that you are the owner / copyright holder of the submitted photo's', have rights / permission to submit said photo's' and are giving your permission to post your photos on the myspace page.
5. This contest is not open to anyone that does photography for a living.
6. Everyone on the friends list is allowed one '1' vote per category.
7. Those entering the contest can submit two '2' different photos per category. Can not enter the same photo in both categories.
8. Prize Winners will need to forward a mailing address 'after they have been informed of their victory' in order for me to mail them their prizes. Winners will forfeit prizes if this step is not completed.
9. Lewd or offensive submissions will not be accepted.
10. Follow the Submission process.
11. Can only win 1 category.
12. In the event of a tie, tie breaker will be via a vote off between the submissions that tied.
13. Submitting photos that are not your own will be grounds for disqualification of that entry.
14. Color correcting & cropping of the submission is ok.
15. Submissions that have any effects applied 'filters, masks, effects, added text, etc...' will not be accepted.
16. Date stamps that are applied in / from your camera are ok, but may not fair too well when being judged.
17. .jpg's & .gif's only. .jpg's preferred, gif's will work but may not turn out as well.
18. Hawking & Bribing for votes during the friends list voting time period is not only allowed, but also being graded.
19. Those not allowed to enter are... Last Years Contest Winners, Majikboxman, DeadBishop, John Solberg, Ryan, Tim-tkopics.
Terms: After the winners have been chosen, I will wait 4 days before mailing the prizes. This time is being allowed for any person to file a grievance / review if it should apply. In the event a person is stripped of their prize & bragging rights, the prize & bragging rights will automatically go to the next finisher. Items will be mailed with delivery conformation. Once prizes are mailed out, all decisions are final.
