Happy Birthday to me!
Current mood: fabulous
Category: Goals, Plans, Hopes

Hi everyone!

I will be another year older on Wednesday....

though I am turning 96, I feel like I am turning 30 all over again....

Every year, I pick two charities for you all to donate to instead of getting me gifts. Here they are and why:

Out of 30+ emails to various cat rescues, I was only able to find three or four that would allow my best friend, Stephanie to rescue a cat after her wonderful Siamese kitty, Harry, passed.

The the other rescue reps found various ways to discriminate against her because she is in a wheelchair. They claimed she would be unable to "catch" the cat were it to run outside. Some where concerned, because Multiple Sclerosis is "progressive" and there "is no cure", what would happen to the cat later on.

The experience of having contact with these crazy cat rescue women was just as upsetting as actually losing Harry, for me. I have never experienced such horrible discrimination - and my best friend never deserved what she got.

Regardless, yesterday I picked up a beautiful 10 month old flame point Siamese named "Leo" from the airport....he is absolutely perfect.

Because of their kind donation of Leo the therapy cat to my best friend, Stephanie, I am choosing the Texas Siamese Rescue.

When donating (PayPal only), please write under the link "ADD SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS TO SELLER":

"Thank you Tonja and TXSRC!"

Please donate generously:

Here's the link: Texas Siamese Rescue!

The next is:

National MS Society - SoCal Region

Time to legalize stem-cell research already. Time to find a cure for MS!

And one more thing.
I would like for you to do something nice for yourself on my birthday (Wednesday August 20th).
Some ideas:
Say something nice to yourself.
Do something you have always wanted to do but have not yet done.
Do something small that makes you happy.
Make an appointment to do something enriching.
Take in something breathtaking.
Hug, kiss, hold hands with, and or smile genuinely at someone new that you think deserves it!
Plant something green and/or that blossoms in soil.
For this one day only - experiment with vegetarianism or veganism.
For this one day only - try not to think one bad or judgemental thing about yourself or another living being.
For this one day only, my wish for my birthday is that we all just try one thing that is a little different, a bit more kind, a tiny bit more humane....
Just for this one day, give it a try. Maybe it'll stick!
Much love,
mo

I'm BACK!!!!

Sorry to have worried anyone, I needed a damn break from all the craziness that internet, email, myspace, etc. was bringing to my fragile head. It has been a wonderful time for me....

Did some singin on the new Atreyu record.

More work with the Used.

Bought a new car (I'll admit, I am not at the point where I can see myself in a Prius yet, and if they had made a 2007 BMW X3 Hybrid, you and I BOTH know I would have bought that shit!)

Writing more and more.

Lost about 25 lbs woohoo!

Taking ballet class beginning June 6. Yay!

Completed a three week training in holistic health, medicine and the importance of a raw, vegan diet....will be done with the three month intensive program August 1....

Taking classes in production and egineering. I am very close to telling these producers that keep calling me to fuck off and let me do this shit myself....

Opened three restaurants in 9 months with my aunt....and no I will not tell you which ones they are, as I am now OUT of the restaurant business! But still an investor, nonetheless.

I have been without television for FIVE weeks (kicking that habit slowly but surely)

Kicked my coffee habit (ok, so I still indulge, but 2 cups a week is much better than TEN cups a day!) with the aid of accupuncture

There will be some changes around here on this myspace page of mine soon.....this is just a quick hello to all of you.

Thank you all, (including the "free ipod" people) for keeping in touch!

Much love,
mo

My Birthday is August 20th.....
Category: Dreams and the Supernatural

OK, so my birthday is coming up, and a bunch of people have been writing to ask me what I want for my special day....

Aside from world peace, more compassion toward the life and care of all animals, an end to animal shelter euthanization and unlicensed dog and cat breeding; an all expenses paid trip to the Optimum Health Institute for a month-long vacation, and equal rights for working midgets ("little people?, "dwarves"?,"vertically challenged"?) in the party clown industry.....

I figure I would make it easy on you....

here is a link to my Amazon wish list......

http://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/ONCV0ZLFR9NN

Or you can donate to:

Sante D'Or Animal Rescue:
http://www.santedor.com
or the Villalobos Pit Bull Rescue:

Some more links of interest....foster an animal for a week in my name if you have no dough.....

http://www.petharbor.com/

Or, if you are out of time, ideas and money, you can just post a friendly picture of yourself in my comments section....fully clothed (please, you sick fucks) wearing the biggest smile you can muster.....that would be a great gift.

Much love to you all,

and kisses kisses kisses!!

MySpace:The Disease; A Response

Ok, so...I have read through HUNDREDS of responses from all of you received within the last hour or so.....and I have laughed a lot and had a few little tears from the love and support and hilarity of it all.

I feel so lucky to have so many incredible, intelligent, loving, and damn beautiful people in my friends list.....it is overwhelming and at the same time, reminds me of how incredible as well as sick this whole MySpace addiction is....

I guess that what I wrote was kind of like body odor....

...no one really WANTS to say they actually ENJOY the smell of their own body odor, but as soon as one person admits it out loud, everyone else feels safe to talk about it with you... hahahaha....and the next thing you know.....even the person standing next to you on the bus is chiming in about how deliciously tangy their farts are....

So about this top eight thing, my friend, Chris, said it best....

"Exactly why I rotate my top-listy by race, creed and sexual-orientation.......it's like a dick-party at a gay bathhouse, eventually everybody gets a little :) "....

So I think I have found my solution! I will change my top eight to tomething bigger, and rotate every few weeeks or so.

Who will be in the top: real friends, ex lovers that will still talk to me, good fans, great writers, anyone that sends me something that might make me laugh, cry or move me in some special way....

But if you were to ask me about my top friends on myspace...I would tell you now that I have, oh, about 2,000 or so....and the numbers are growing every day.....

humbly,
mo

MySpace: The Disease

I was looking at my top eight today and realized that I can upgrade to like, a top 24 or some shit now....

and then I realized that, if you are in my top eight, that gives you no excuse to not have me in your top something.....

then i thought about all the people that i do not know so well that have me in their top eights but i do not have in mine...but i could not kick that feeling of like...."NOBODY LOVES ME!"

and then my mind started to spin like "what the fuck! it is ONLY MySpace, bitch"...and then I went into that MySpace psychosis that I am sure most of you are familiar with in which I was like "who are my REAL friends?" and then i was like "FUCK YOU MYSPACE: YOU ARE NOT REAL!!" and then I was like, "nobody loves me" and then i signed off myspace and kicked the computer while screaming "MYSPACE IS A DISEASE OF THE MIND this is only your ADDICTION talking" and then i went to bed and then I had MySpace induced nightmares in which i had no myspace friends and no one sent me any friend requests....and all that was posted in the bulletins were those horrible "if you do not fill out this 300 question survey and send to 57 friends, you will not get laid or have any good luck for 12 HUNDRED years and you will die a slow and painful death", along with those horrible "see who is looking at your profile" bullshit bulletins....

i am not letting it hurt my feelings that you do not care about me in the "mySpace" kind of way enough to post me in your top eight if you are posted in mine, but you can believe that, if you do not get a call on your birthday, you can blame that shit on MySpace, yo.

lovingly,
mo

Mercy

Please repost this.....

Ok, well last I went to check on little Picasso (see two blogs down), it seems that a lovely woman had him in her home and was thinking of keeping him! Keep your fingers crossed for the baby to finally have a stable home with someone that can give him the love he deserves....

Now a new cause.....

This one broke my heart, and I want to give you all the opportunity to do something small to help.

I received this email today:

"One of my friends is involved with a volunteer
organization that aids orphaned pets.  Most recently,
they were helping out a dog that was doused with
gasoline and set on fire.  Unfortunately, the dog
died.  An arrest has been made, but a petition is now
going around to ensure that the asshole receives the
maximum sentence.  Please take a second to sign the
petition.  It literally will only take a few seconds."

From the people at Operation Kindness:

"We are so moved by the support and caring from our
community for Mercy, our sweet friend.  We wanted to
say thank you for all you have done to support
Operation Kindness and to help us spread the word
about Mercy and the issue of animal abuse.

You may already be aware that a suspect was arrested
and is being charged with torture as opposed to animal
cruelty.  Torture carries a penalty of up to 10 years
in prison, animal cruelty is only a 2 year maximum.
We are hopeful for swift justice and that he will get
the maximum.

We are having a memorial service to lay Mercy to rest
on Saturday, April 29 at 10am at Operation Kindness
Shelter in the Memorial garden.  So many people have
asked for a chance to say goodbye so we feel it is
important for us all to have closure.

Please visit our website for updates on the Mercy case
and for a map to our shelter."

After reading further, I found out that, not only was Mercy a PUPPY when this horrible crime took place, but was also stabbed a number of times by her killer before she was doused and set afire.

This story has broken my heart completely. Please sign the petition to ensure that this cocksucker goes down.

TAKE ACTION NOW!
Please sign the petition to ensure that Mercy's killer
is prosecuted to the fullest extent.

Click on the link below and then click on Mercy's picture to be taken to her story and the petition:

A baby to love.....

Please, please PLEASE forward this bulletin.

A baby to love....

OK, I have to post news on this baby that I have fallen in love with, but unfortunately do not have the time to devote to keeping....

His name is Picasso. I have spent the last few weeks training and fostering him for the "Boston Buddies" animal rescue. http://www.bostonbuddies.com

Here is what I know about him:

He is about 8 years old.

We think he is part Boston Terrier, part Boxer......

He has ear problems as the result of a botched surgery by a vet that wrote in his records that he should be EUTHANISED.

This crock vet said that his "aggression" was the reason for this determination.

Picasso is, in fact, only aggressive when someone tries to shove something into the same ear that this butcher vet screwed up. He is not fearful of his head and ears being petted and scratched. He LOVES to be touched. It puts him to sleep....

He needs training by someone that is willing to give him the stability he deserves.

Stability is KEY with this baby.

He was rescued by the Boston Buddies from the Downey shelter, and was in bad shape when they found him.

Before that, he was probably abused.

Before that, he was probably neglected.

Now because of the love of a few good people at Boston Buddies, and those at ROVER kennels in Culver City http://www.roverkennels.com/, he is a good boy....

Picasso walks so well, and he does not pull...

He is completely potty trained and is not a chewer.

He is learning how to get along with other dogs, but needs PATIENCE in learning socialization skills with other dogs...he is still a bit fearful of his ears, and other dogs.

He LOVES to cuddle.

A few days after I got him, we told Judy At Boston Buddies how he was doing, and she could not believe that I was talking about the same dog. She was driven to tears while I told her about who he had become.

He and I would lie in bed together and watch TV. He was not an inconvenience to me at all.... just a few walks a day.... and good food, and he gave me more love than I could have ever imaged possible from a dog that has been through what he has been through...

He is a beautiful, beautiful boy. He is sweet and expressive and I am so thankful to have known him for the time that I have.

Of all the years of fostering and training that I have done, this one has really won my heart.... and that is why I am sending out this bulletin. This is the first time I am doing this...simply because Picasso is a special case. He is going to make whoever decides to adopt him very, very happy. As he did me...

Please, please PLEASE forward this bulletin.... I will personally call and thank you if you in fact are the person that adopts this beautiful soul. Just hit reply to poster and cut and paste this info into a new bulletin.
