Hey everyone! It's MoZella. My good friend's One Block Radius put their record out today and it's available EVERYWHERE! You may have heard their song 'You Got Me' on the radio. Marty, the singer/writer/producer in the group is a good friend and is working on my record with me! Make sure you stop by their myspace and show some love! AND- if you go to itunes and listen to a song called 'Screwin' It Up' you might hear a familiar female voice...hint hint hint. So go download it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Earlier this year I played a show @ Sundance. Zone Perfect and Fuse TV sponsored the event. Here is a link to check out the performances: ZONE PERFECT/SUNDANCE
Hello everyone! I’m back from my trip to Costa Rica and I’m still trying to process everything I saw, learned, and felt. It was amazing! First of all, the people are some of the friendliest I’ve met in all my travels. I want to thank la gente de Costa Rica who made my trip so wonderful. Pura Vida!
About the trip... Deepak Chopra put on a conference/dialogue called The Alliance For a New Humanity. It was a 4 day event where people spoke, shared, sang, and performed. We all gathered to talk about ways to create peace in the world. I met Nobel Prize winners, best selling authors, scientists, spiritual healers, and many other interesting people. I met a man name Papa Jaime from Colombia who saved 30,000 children from the streets. He won a Nobel Prize for his work. I also met a woman named Marrianne Williamson who has been on the cover of Time and on Oprah. She’s an author, speaker, and started Project Angel Food. Every person I met helped me learn something about myself.
The first night we went to the natural history museum and Oscar Arias (the President of Costa Rica- and Nobel prize winner) spoke to the crowd. When we arrived, there were protesters out front shouting about Aria’s signing of a NAFTA bill with the US. I’d never been forced to think about other countries politics firsthand and how we effect them. It was much food for thought.
The second night I performed at El Teatro Nacional in San Jose to a crowd of as least 500. The theatre is over 100 years old with 3 levels of seating, velvet curtains, and crystal sconces along the walls. The entire San Jose youth orchestra played with us and we all sang ’We Are Family’ with Nile Rogers (the composer of the classic hit) to close the night. I’d never sang with an entire symphony behind me. SO COOL! I played ’Killing Time’ and my new song ’Four Leaf Clover’. At least 20 people told me they loved the song!
On the third night, after 3 days of intense discussions, we went to the amusement park. Yes- The Alliance put on a party for us at the only amusement park in Costa Rica! There were performers, dancers, and lots of yummy foods! A band played Spanish rock all night and we danced for at least 2 hours under the night sky along side carousels and kiddy rides. I don’t remember the last time I had that much fun! I felt like I was 12 again!
Once the conference was over, we did a day trip to the mountains and waterfalls. I saw monkeys, butterflies, birds, and frogs. It was a much need break from the intensity of the city. I will say this though, I’m very glad we stayed in San Jose and not some resort by the sea. It’s one thing to talk about world peace, but it’s another to be in the heart of a third world country and be forced to address the real issues. It was a lot to take in, but it’s the facts. I never realized how lucky I am to be born in the USA. I know it’s cliche, but I’m sincerely grateful to be so blessed.
I’m so fortunate that I was invited to be a part of the discussions and events. I’ve recommitted myself to creating value in the world with my voice! Thank you Deepak! Thank you Costa Rica!
