Your result for The Perception Personality Image Test... NFPC - The ArtistNature, Foreground, Big Picture, and Color
You perceive the world with particular attention to nature. You focus on what's in front of you (the foreground) and how that fits into the larger picture. You are also particularly drawn towards the colors around you. Because of the value you place on nature, you tend to find comfort in more subdued settings and find energy in solitude. You like to deal directly with whatever comes your way without dealing with speculating possibilities or outcomes you can't control. You are in tune with all that is around you and understand your life as part of a larger whole. You are a down-to-earth person who enjoys going with the flow. Books Books LibraryThing
Category: Life
Please join me on LibraryThing.com!
It's a site for book lovers and their books. Members add their books--over 17 million so far--get recommendations and talk. You can enter books pretty quickly. Other members have interesting libraries. It is free of charge to join.
As an update about my library, I will share what I've posted on my profile there:
I've just moved 30 boxes of my books (the secondary tier of my library) into my apartment in the suburbs, including my Little Golden Books! Now the "meat" of the collection is all in-house and there's a lot to catalog. A southern "annex" of my library (the tertiary tier?) resides at my parents' house in Baltimore. I'm including many books that my mother owns (mostly classics and British lit in multiple copies, and theology) because we share a lot and I can borrow what I like. My books at my parents' now consist of discards from the local branch of the public library a few blocks away, art and calligraphy books, college texts, thrift store finds, other things that won't fit in my apartment, Golden Book records and "Books of Knowledge", and stuff to give away or sell.
You can see what I've catalogued so far here. Whee!
I've also been swapping books like crazy on BookMooch and Paperbackswap. There's no charge to join there either. You pay only media mail postage when you send a book to someone. I've replenished my fiction supply very quickly. Friend me there too if you join---
There are links between the sites I've mentioned and Amazon, and/or there are browser tweaks to help with that. If you need advice about making surfing these sites more efficient, just ask.

More social networking: Facebook and Flixster
Current mood: tired
Category: Friends
Please join Facebook and friend me - La anderson 90 at alum dot vassar dot edu, for those of you who don't know that e-mail address. A lot of us Borders folks are there, but ironically, since we don't have company e-mail addresses, can't join the Borders network there. haha. You don't need to join a network at all, but it's the only way you can really browse people's profiles once you join the site. I'm in the Baltimore and Vassar (due to my alum e-mail address) networks. Regional networks such as Baltimore are opt-in. It's a good idea to do so. Otherwise, if, say--- you're in only a college network like [Univ.] Maryland, only other students there can view your profile. It sounds complex, but it's easier to use than MySpace, and more intuitive. Less bling is allowed, so it has a cleaner look. I do like MySpace allowing all the scripted widgets on a profile, but if that's not your style Facebook might be for you. Also, it's a "use your real name" place. Hence, perhaps, the tighter browsing security. The real identity thing makes it seem much more like Friendster (and probably even MySpace) was supposed to be. Facebook has an optional module that ties in with Flixster.com. I'm msggoat on Flixster, which is pretty interesting. Please friend me there. (Actually at the moment this interests me more than FAcebook itself.) There's a movie compatibility test where we can see if we share similar taste in film.

How effective is MySpace blogging? Please respond ---
Current mood: pragmatic
Category: pragmatic Blogging
I suppose if if anyone else would subscribe to my MySpace blog I'd post in it. It looks as though everyone posts bulletins instead of blogging, which is more like mass e-mail but does get the point across. Once you have a lot of friends, though, the bulletin board does get clogged and fills up quickly. It's an assertive form of blogging: "You will read this." So hey, I've followed suit. It would be great if every friend here would join LiveJournal and/or Facebook and friend me, but I don't know if you will. Do any of you who've friended me only here read the feed to my LiveJournal on my page, or, on Facebook, read my imported "notes," which include my LJ feed? And please, let me know what you think of the blogs here as a form of communication. I'll try posting my last couple of bulletins in my blog here and see if anyone looks. Depending on the responses I will decide if it's worth keeping up yet another blog.

Change of address and current status
Category: Life
For those of you who don't monitor my LiveJournal or Flickr, I've changed residence again for the second time in 6 months. G and I have rather abruptly moved to the suburbs, for at least a year. We're in Timonium. I'm finding things to appreciate about the place, but I'll always be a Baltimore girl.
I am still available for work, preferably at a college or university, library, nonprofit, or museum.
