I had a conversation with another friend (female) who told me about her dad having sex with her but it was okay.......he gave her an allowance if she did!!!! What the FUCK!!! Yes, that's right!!! We're having Cattails!! My husband is out in his truck......he said there is no way he was going to eat cattails and told me I wasn't going to either. He thinks I'll kill myself!!! HAHA So....I waited til he left and hopped in my car and pulled me a couple of cattails to bring home for dinner. I just recently found out they are edible so I've be DYING to try them. I love WILD FOOD!!! I just can't believe I never new about cattails. The cattail is one of the most important and common wild foods, with a variety of uses at different times of the year. It's a wildfood supermarket!! The jelly part is also good for soothing pains due to sores, boils, carbuncles and external inflammations.
You know that cigar part? That was the first thing I ate!! You just steam or simmer it for ten minutes........just like corn on the cob.....roll it in butter and salt.....just like corn on the cob!! Or.....scrape it from the cob and use as a rich, filling element to any dish. It's one of the best wild vegetarian sources of protein, unsaturated fat, and calories. It also provides beta-carotene, niacin, riboflavin, thiamin, potassium, phosphorus, Vitamin C, and minerals. Cattails smell like asparagus when cooking. It has a taste sort of like corn/asparagus or zuchinni. (But good).
This delicious, edible plant has been around since the dinosaurs. It's been around long enough to have evolved into male and females seperated on the stiff with the MALE ON TOP!!!! : ) It provided a major staple for the Native Americans. Our American forefathers sure missed out on this plant when they passed up a chance to cultivate it!!!
My next endeavors are to use them to make glue and flour and collect the pollen for tasty, more nutritional, and cheaper form of commercial Pollens... like Bee Pollen And if any of you have cool stories, recipes, etc.....even crafts...please share with me and all my friends!!! PEACE AND LOVE

I KNOW MY FAMILY HAS HEARD THIS POEM......I DREAMED IT SHORTLY AFTER MY BROTHER WAS KILLED IN A FOURTEEN TRUCKS, CARS AND SEMI PILE UP IN ARKANSAS IN JUNE OF 1973. JEFF WAS MY VERY BEST FRIEND.......AND WHEN HE DIED....I DIED INSIDE. MY WORLD ENDED AND CRUMBLED!!! MY FIRST THOUGHTS WAS TO KILL MYSELF SO I COULD GO BE WITH HIM...HE NEEDED ME!! I NEEDED HIM. I HADN'T EVER EXPERIENCED DEATH BEFORE...I WAS 14...HE WAS 13!!!! WE HAD OUR WHOLE LIVES AHEAD! GOD ...I HATED GOD!!! I REMEMEBER THAT OH TOO WELL!! ONLY AN EVIL GOD WOULD TAKE SOMEONE AWAY SO INNOCENT AND WITH SO MUCH LIFE AHEAD OF HIM. I JUST HATED HIM!! I HELD MY BROTHERS PICTURE FOR SO LONG AND SOOOO HARD I WORE THE PICTURE OFF!
ON THAT FINAL DAY OF ACTUALLY GOING TO HIS FUNERAL......MY UNCLE DOC HELD ME UNDER ONE ARM AND MY UNCLE BILL UNDER THE OTHER CUZ I JUST COULD NOT DO IT!! I WANTED TO COLLAPSE AND THEY HELD ME UP!!
INSIDE THE CHURCH THERE WAS MY BROTHER.....IN A CLOSED CASKET!! FOR ME...THERE WAS NO CLOSURE!! I DIDN'T WANT TO BELIEVE HE WAS IN THERE. THIS IS ALL JUST A BAD BAD SO VERY BAD DREAM. I THOUGHT FOR YEARS HE WOULD SOMEDAY COME HOME....HE JUST HAS AMNESIA AND SOMEDAY HE WILL REMEMBER US AND COME HOME. I WOULD GO CRAZY IF MOM TRIED TO CHANGE ANYTHING OF JEFF'S....EVEN HIS HAT HE LEFT UNDER THE TREE IN THE PASTURE WHERE ME AND HIM HAD BEEN RIDING OUR MINI BIKES. IT HAD TO STAY THERE!!! HE WAS COMING HOME AND WOULD GO GET HIS HAT HIMSELF!!
HE NEVER DID. EVEN WHEN THE RAIN CAME DOWN I LOOKED IN THE PASTURE UNDER THE TREE WHERE HIS HAT WAS AND THOUGHT TO MYSELF HE WILL BE SO MAD THAT HIS HAT GOT ALL WET!!
I DIDN'T DEAL WITH THIS SO WELL AS YOU CAN TELL AND I IMAGINE ANYONE WHO EXPERIENCES LOSING SOMEONE SO VERY VERY VERY CLOSE TO THEM.....FEELS WHAT I FELT. I WAS YOUNG AND WAS COMPLETELY CAUGHT OFF GAURD AT LOSING THE PERSON I WOKE UP EVERY DAY TO AND PLAYED WITH EVERY DAY. I DIDN'T KNOW ANYTHING DIFFERENT.

This is my serious side folks. Sorry. I try to be fun all the time and make people laugh and have fun but not tonight. This is for my son....who's going through some trials in his life that are of concern with his baby daughter and damnit ....I'm one of those overprotective mamas!!! It's not just him, though. I should make this point clear. It is ALL parties' involved. I want to write this blog to maybe hopefully start people's minds to stop and think. I have been in the situation my son is in right now.....only I was the one on the other end of his stick. What a horrible story I see! And yes, I made mistakes as a parent.....many!! I'm not perfect. I started out very young as a mother and pretty much grew up with my oldest son. My son and I have lived this same scenario.....only then.....different positions on the game board. My former husband and I fought for years over Jeff and we never had a clue of the emotional damage we were doing to our little boy. It is funny how you can relive something in your life and it all of a sudden seems as though it's a book you are reading or a game you are playing , but it's not.....it's real. It's LIFE. For those that don't know me personally ....I am very VERY close to my boys. We talk about everything and anything.....although that took some getting used to!!! But....I want that kind of relationship......I want to know my blood...my kids......me....inside out.....their breathing...their heartbeat counts per minute....EVERYTHING!!! This is me....they are me! Call me weird if you want....I know my family...I didn't just give birth to them and send them happily on their way like frogs or snakes. Our family has weathered the WORST OF STORMS and we are a solid family!
So....with all my bullshit prattling..Here's to you my son with his trials....here's to my one that thank-god him and his X get along...and here's to my youngest who's only had and will ever have his only one and then......to the rest of the world......IT"S THE KIDS THAT MATTER AND THAT"S ALL THAT MATTERS SO PUT YOUR WANNIE WA WA"S AWAY AND GROW UP AND GETTER DONE!!!
What is really weird about this whole thing I'm writing....is that I am very preditorial. Don't mess with my kids...my family ...my friends...it just ain't cool!! I will leave that with that!!
SOOOO....Please ALLLL... for children's sake....change the Past.. Break away from the past AND how things use to be done and take a ProActive Stand to Divorce or Separation of Parties'. Proactive......look into the future and evaluate your outcome. Does the future you are looking at hold the very best for your children? The adversial is pretty bleak. Think of the thousands of dollars you will or may spend....it isn't cheap to win wars. Look at the war our government is in. The dollars keep spending don't they? And they spend just to prove a point!!!.....And to WHO??????? ONLY TO THE ONE WHO WANTS TO WIN!!! But the children somehow lose....without anyone noticing!!!
Don't be DESTRUCTIVE with your babies' ...PLEASE!!! BE....CONSTRUCTIVE!! Find your Balance, your Integrity, and Self-Respect! Let this time be a Growth experience....not a nightmare!!!
