Most of you avoid the NOW because...
Current mood: surprised
Category: Life
Ok so last week in my Mood section (which I've made into my Random Thought section!), I posted:
Random Thought: Why are we threatened by the 'now'? Why jump to past or future to avoid the discomfort of now? Comment me with your thoughts.
I got a lot of comments and messages with your thoughts and overwhelmingly, you are not comfortable with your feelings 'right now' or not happy with life, so now is not what you want to focus on.
I have to admit being very saddened to read over and over again that 'now' is too painful or that you would prefer to think of the future and what can possibly be instead of dwelling on this moment in your life.
Why are you not happy and what can you do to change this so that you are comfortable now?
Right now (teee heee), I am learning to be comfortable in the moment.
I've always been someone who was more interested in the 'future'... 'when I do this', 'when I go there', 'when I get that', 'when I achieve that'.... I recently read The Power of Now.. by Eckhart Tolle. After reading it, realize I have a lot of power when I am in the NOW. Over the past few months, I have really been trying to live more in the present moment. I find that I miss out on small, miraculous things when I spend too much time in past or future. This is not to say I don't enjoy/acknowledge certain things from my past or that I don't dream of future... but I realize that being conscious in this very moment is powerful to me now, this second!
Take some time this week to be with yourself, in the very moment. Breathe deep, hear the birds or whatever is around you (the traffic maybe)... what is it saying to you? The Universe (God to some, some other name to others...) is always trying to speak to us and sometimes our minds are so busy focusing on back then or when that we don't see or hear the messages that are meant for right now.
If Your Life Was Ice Cream, Most of You Would Be...

Rocky Road!
Now I know life is full of ups and downs, but it surprised me how many people answered my Random Thought question with this answer.
So people, what makes your life so rocky. What can you do to change it?
I feel that in life much of how our life goes is determined by our attitude towards it. Sure we ALL have shitty days, but sometimes you have to take that shit and turn it around into something GOLD instead of wallowing in it thinking you can't get out.
So for those of you on the Rocky Road... what can you do for yourself this week to turn your Rocky Road into Gold Road?
Well, the 24th Has Arrived

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for coming by my space! I appreciate hearing from those of you who are asking about the new album and keeping me updated on what's going on in your life. There are lots of interesting stories.
The original release date for this album was April 22nd, but we've pushed that back to June 24th. The album is called 'Random Thoughts' and I'm looking forward to you guys hearing what I've been putting together over the past few months. There is a little taste of one of the songs here on my profile. The song is called "You're Mysterious" and I hope you enjoy it.
In addition, I'm excited about how the studio is coming along. I've been building it with my producer Jeremy over the past couple of years and it's finally starting to sound close to where I'd like it. It's a never ending process though, since there's always something new to add or update. We've been considering whether to open it up to the public or not, so we'll see how that goes.
Anyway, just thought I'd let you guys know what's up. Check back on June 24th. See ya!
