Whats Normal

Hey to everyone out there!! I feel like I’ve been locked in a cage for two weeks since I’ve been back! Everyone I bump into seems to be wondering what I’m doing. Which is completely understandable, so ok I’ll let you in on the last few weeks in Melbourne!

..:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

I think I have to explain my life and how it has totally changed. Being back is hard emotionally for me but fun at the same time because of all the new opportunities I now have. The first day I arrived back I spent with my family. I love my family because they bring me back down to Earth. I get to experience normality. But really, what is normality? To some people it’s getting up at 6am and coming home at 6pm, cooking dinner then having a red wine in front of the tv. To others it could be sleeping all day waking up at 7pm to go to work, finishing work at 4am then heading out for a few drinks before going back to bed to start again the following night. I think everybody is normal in different ways!! I’ve learnt to accept change, except people and enjoy every minute, appreciate the good and the bad. Without the bad there is no good.

My dad decided to stay in Malta and is now looking for a job! How funny is that??

My sister also just got married today!! HOW"S THAT???

And I’m in Adelaide preparing to host a fashion parade at Westfield Shopping town for Fashion Week – what to wear and what not to wear. Basically fashion (well my opinion) is what you think looks nice and what you think feels comfortable. I always seem to get sucked in to buying what’s fashionable, getting all excited that I have the latest brands and then putting them on at home and going "what was I thinking? These are WAY too tight!!" he he! I went to see a few fashions parades as part of the L’Oreal Fashion Week and there were some amazing designers!! I only started really appreciating fashion during idol, before that I was a bargain shopper – nothing over $30!! I can’t believe I just admitted that!! Hopefully I can get some more fashion tips tomorrow.

Ok that’s enough about clothes! Here’s some real important stuff – my MUSIC!

I went into the studio yesterday and started jamming my original songs in preparation for my new Single/Album. I’ve been working and arranging the songs with my rhythm section. The next step is to choose the best ones and record them with the full band/producers which are yet to be decided. I have the opportunity to write and record with some amazing producers so I’m not going to hurry a process that could develop into some crazy music for you all to hear. In the mean time I am going to be gigging as much as I can!

If you are from Melbourne, come down to the Hawthorn Relay for Life. I’ll be performing with Kumar (songs from the show and originals). We start at 9.15 and will be playing til 10pm. It’s to raise money for cancer research. It’s a small foundation, that I hope one day, will be HUGE!! I did it last year and it was so much fun! I hope the weather is fantastic. Come down and join me, it would be great to see ya! I’ll be selling merchandise and may even do a signing after the performance – if I’m allowed!!

The weekend after I will be going to Torque as part of the surfer’s competition – no I won’t be surfing but I will be there celebrating easter and making a few appearances here and there. Little secret – Marty Simpson will also be performing!! I actually caught up with him last week at one of the L’Oreal fashion shows and he’s doing GREAT!!

Hope everyone is enjoying their week! Remember life is what you make it so wake up early tomorrow!..he he.. actually I would sleep in if I was you!

Malta trip
Current mood: adventurous

HI Everyone!!

well what can i say it's been a looooooong time since i've written a blog so be ware, it's going a big one!!

I"m going to start at the Perth show. Perth was my final show, Jan 24th. It was probably the best show as far as performance, energy and just the over all vibe felt fantastic. Unfortunately i couldn't do a signing after the show because i had to catch a plane to Malta. I promised all the Perth fans who came to the show that i will be back to do a special appearance after i release my next single. Which will happen..just hold on to your tickets. I will let you know way in an advance so you won't miss out. A few people are asking about it, don't worry it will be posted everywhere!!

I'd secondly like to thank all my fans for coming to my shows..sometimes more than once! hehe. You guys are the foundation and the things that keeps me going!!

Malta Song Festival is a competition which is massive in Malta..i think every single person was wacthing their TV screen the night of my performance! I had the opportunity to perform 'Here I am' and 'All in my Mind" as well as sing with one of Malta's famous stars Chiara. We sung her hit song 'Angel' and it was a massive hit! After my performance every radio and TV station in Malta wanted to interview me! I couldn't believe the response..it was crazy! Maltese culture is so beautiful i fell in love with the people there and also the landscapes. I met a lot of people in the music industry in Malta. i thought it wouldn't be that big, but it is. i did about 10 interviews all together. i attended a dinner as part of the Australian Embassador and Comissioners and represented Australia... i ended up selling raffle tickets! then i rushed of to do an interview on the polotical channel and i couldn't understand a word they were saying!! which has inspired me to learn the language!! seriously!

I met a particular guy who took a fancy to me..not a werido or anything! hehe. he was a dancer at the Malta song Festival. He and my brother also got on very well. He decided to go out of his way and show us around Malta, which was just amazing!! After my last interview (which ended up being at the end of the week) he met us at the Ferry and we ended up in Gozo for the weekend. Gozo is a small island off malta which is also the capital of malta ..i know it sounds funny! the only thing i can really compare it to are the Greek islands, although i haven't been there!..yet! anyway, i had the time of my life in gozo. i just danced all night til the sun came up..had an absolute ball!! the reason for the trip to Gozo is for a festival that is held once a year. everyone dresses up in weird costumes and goes clubbing in Gozo! the theme was star wars. it was pretty cool. now the mistery man took me to some romantic sights in gozo and we had a great chat and i think i've completely fallin in love hehe.. well i wouldn't go that far, but he was really amazing!! that's what happens when you go on holiday, you meet someone who sweeps you off your feet then you have to leave!! so i've decided to keep him in my heart and write some songs about it! ..he's pretty cute too!!

well i ended up going to Italy after my Malta experience. My mum's boyfriend, Morris who some of you might know from the forums, he has a mate who lives in Tuscany. So my brother Mike and I decided to Make our way from Milano to Tuscany..via Flaurence. Ricki is Morris's mate's name. He was brilliant!! He delivers bread every morning from 7am to 1.30pm then has the rest of his day free, so he also went out of his way to show us a great time. i have some photo's which i'll put up on my facebook if you wanna check em out. Tuscany is just amazing!! He has a dog called Bello, who was just the cutest thing ever. Ricki took a liking to my music and has given the winner's journey cd to every shop in tuscany i think! hehe. you never know i could be popular in italy one day! that'd be a dream come true i think!

Mike and i decided to take a trip to rome by train. we woke up really early. it took us about 3 hours to get there and we were getting frustrated. but onced we arrived..it was worth the trip! we visited all the touristy sites, saw the colloseum amongst others and ate dinner at a beautiful restaurant and OH MY GOD food in italy is the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
all i can say is "YUM!" i was having food orgasms hehe!! and so was mike ha!
we tried to stay in rome as long as we could but by 8.30pm we were buggered and had drank too much wine! so we went to catch a train and realised we'd missed the last one! we ended up getting ripped off by the ticket man..who was completely evil! He knew we couldn't speak italian and took advantage of it. he told us we could use our return tickets on the that train ride, then when the train started moving we came up and charged us double the price for new tickets saying this was a "special train" rrrr he made me so angry but there was nothing i could do!! we had to get a taxi to San Giovanni and the taxi driver ripped us off also and dropped us off in the total wrong vacinity! we were stuck out in the cold at 1am with no money and no phone! Ricki saved our life that night. I was a little disappointed about the people in Rome, but i think if we were aware of it and spent more time there, we'd get used it and learn how to deal with it! Bastards!!

well next stop was london! wow! walking the streets of london is like a dream. the buildings are huge, old and have loads of character. now i'm sure the questions on everyone's lips is...did she see Andrea?? well i'll get to that in a minute hehe.
First i have to tell you something funny. I was walking down Queensbury Rd in Bayswater and i was thinking.."wow how weird is it that i can just walk down the street and no one knows who i am!!" then as soon as i got back to the hostel with some lunch, mike and i were eating in the common room. This girl was looking at me funny and when ever i went to make eye contact with her she looked away. i thought i was eating funny or something, then she asked me.."are you Natalie Gauci?" and i thought to myself "no way..this can't be happening!" She said her and her family voted for me, she's from oz and moved to london just after the finals of idol!! What a small world!! I ended up making some really great freinds with French and Aussies hehe! i'll put some photo's up facebook!

ok well..next subject Andrea! no one really knows the real story behind Andrea and I...ok maybe you do, but i never really understood it til i saw him again. I had this whole idea of who Andrea was in my mind. When he stayed with me in Melbourne it was so passionate and so romantic and i went out of my way to show him around Melbourne! then he left and were in contact. i expressed my love for him and he was always reciprical, but always hesitant. After seeing him and hanging out with him in London (his home town) it was like meeting a different person. to say the least, i was heart broken and felt a little foolish and stupid. i really let my guard down with him and he didn't even seem to notice. dont get me wrong he is a nice person and we are still friends, but i was pretty emotional about it the day after to say the least! i'm over it now and i've moved on. it's made me realise that i fell in love with an imaginary person.. he made me happy when we were together so i guess that's all that matters. take the good and leave the bad.

well i couldn't leave Europe without going back to Malta and saying goodbye to my family, friends and the mistery Maltese man!! I got back on friday and have gotten straight back into work mode. I have spoke to Sony about my next album and have a put an exciting new plan into the works. i'm going to work hard and create something special, so please be patient.

i will log in soon and keep you posted. you might find some random stories posted about my trip that i forgot to mention..just to keep you entertianed!!

The signing that didn’t happen...
Current mood: crunk

HI Everyone

Since my space has changed it's layout i don't know how to post bulletens so i just want make a statement to everyone who came to my Matinee show in Sydney on Saturday. I am so sorry about the signing situation!! The truth is that i had no idea it was advertised in a brochure to promote ticket sales and i feel i have disappointed a lot of fans. if you could please drop me a line and send me your address, i'll put a signed poster in the mail myself!! I usually have no issues with signings but because i was doing two shows on the one day time didn't allow it and unfortunately fans miss out and i look like a baddy!! Which isn't fair for anyone really. i was very upset. I"m very sorry and will do my best to make up for it.

And most importantly, i hope you enjoyed the show!!!

I'm having loads of fun on the tour and the show is everything i dreamed it would be for a first tour. It's definitely preparing me for what's to come.

Thanks to everyone for your support during Idol and support over the tour.

I love you guys!!

xx nat
