Corporations are people too!
And here's my favorite from votenader.org
"In 1886 the Supreme Court, in the case of Santa Clara County v. Southern Pacific Railroad, was interpreted to have ruled that corporations were "persons"—before women were considered persons under the 19th amendment to have the right to vote.
Ever since, corporations have enjoyed most of the same constitutional rights granted to real people.
But corporations are not humans. They don't vote. They don't have children. They don't die in Iraq."
Now is that so hard to understand?

Once again we are left with no real choice.
This is a lovely list of issues our supposed "representatives of the people" conveniently won't address.

Realistic stories...
"I always enjoyed representing a slightly surreal situation in a realistic way. I have always had a penchant for fairy-tales, myths and magical stories. They seem to me to come closer to our present-day experience of reality than realistic stories, which are basically just as stylized."

Vampyr
Criterion has released Vampyr on DVD and I got my copy yesterday. What a great film. Might well be my last DVD purchase... as I wait for Blu-Ray players to come down in price.
For anyone who hasn't seen it... it's worth it. Carl Theodore Dreyer.

So way better.
To challenge ourselves to move toward the work that is so way better.
This is the way. This is a rule.

MTV2
The Birthday Massacre video for "Looking Glass" has been accepted for rotation on MTV2. Fame, success, fortun... well, maybe not. Still, I can't help being happy more people will see it!
Congrats to everyone who worked on it... and the band, of course.

It is done. Well... mostly.
After nearly seven months of work... we finally shot the Birthday Massacre video this weekend in Jersey City. It was two very intense days of shooting a very ambitious schedule of shots. The band and the extras had a good time, it seems.... and the crew was fabulous and very dedicated. I am grateful to all who gave everything they had to make this happen.
I am especially grateful to all the fabulous extras who endured an experience that many would find intolerable. They all braved the event with smiles and enthusiasm. Thanks.
Now I have to edit! But the biggest and most challenging aspects are behind us now. I look forward to devouring the footage and generating a memorable video.
