lately i've been a little on the complaining side...i'm gonna pretend that it was all just pms. I would like to thank my friends for tolerating me. Cuz good lord knows I have NOTHING to complain about........I have a great job, a new number 5 lesbian vehicle, and a "cute" place all to myself, plus all of my fabulous aforementioned friends.

This time last year I was essentially unemployeed, homeless and living on my credit cards.

In the past 3 years I ended a long term relationship, gave up my house and my dogs. I closed my business of nearly 12 years. Lost a really amazing person unexpectantly on my birthday. And had an uninsured motorist flip me in my truck. I won't even go into all of the family drama.

My life is really great right now. Please thump me on the forehead if I start complaining.

NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS 2006:

(1)- TO BE LATE....screw waiting around for everyone else to show up while i'm sitting by myself twidling my thumbs. The party doesn't really start till I get there anyway...um right?

(2)- DRINK MORE.....anyone else feel like being designated driver???

(3)- GET GIRLY......i already went and bought some makeup. Lucinda promises to help me with this resolution, I believe she is planning a Sephora excursion and possibly a manicure outing as well. Whew...i'm a little tired just thinking about it....New Year's resolutions are made to be broken..right?

(4) - TRY NEW RESTAURANTS......nearly forgot about this one. So if anyone is up for anything other than Scallini's, Mai's, Jeng Chi etc. give me a call. I love those places but am ready for some new flavor.

saw a falling star last night on my way home. didn't even consider making a wish.

I remember going to North Park mall as a kid and throwing pennies into the water fountain.
I always wished for the same thing..a baby white kitten (i know, baby and kitten is a litttle redundant, but i was 6). After who knows how many pennies and wishes, one Christmas my mom went to the animal shelter to find me that kitten. The only kitten there with any white on it at all was a black one with white paws and a white nose. That year was the Christmas that I had asked for the "tippy toes" doll. she was this plastic battery operated doll that pushed a stroller by walking on the tips of her toes. My sister received "tippy toes" and i received my baby "white" kitten, whom I proceded to name Tippy to make up for it. One day I decided to dress Tippy the cat in a baby bonnet and dress, I placed her in a baby stroller and took her for a walk, a short one anyway...I was only allowed to go two houses away on either side of my own house. She completely tolerated this, she was a very easy going cat...or so we thought. That afternoon during nap time Tippy from out of nowhere attacked me as I was lying in bed sleeping. She sunk her teeth so far into my arm that she could not release them. I remember screaming hysterically and waving my arm around trying to dislodge the cat. My mom came running in and pried Tippys teeth from my arm.

I don't remember what Tippys fate was....my mom claims not to remember either, though she does admit that she was ready to kill the cat on the spot with her bare hands ( the whole mother bear protecting her cubs instinct). I had the scars on my arms for years afterwards.

After that all of my pennies went to wishing for a canopy bed. One Christmas a canopy bed arrived.....for my sister.

from then on I saved my pennies and rolled them.

On birthdays when everyone hovered around waiting for me to blow out my candles and make a wish....I would pause just long enough for everyone to think i had made one.

My Marcel Dzama drawings finally found their way to me today...they were in the international Fed Ex vortex for a while. Other than a down payment for a car it is one of the biggest purchases i've ever made. I originally couldn't decide between three of the pieces from the Atelier Gallery in Vancouver...I finally chose one and made the arrangements with the gallery owner. They emailed me back an apology that they had promised me a piece they had already sold. To make up for it they offered me a discount on the others I was interested in and free shipping on top of that. I again had a hard time deciding between the two....so damnit I bought both.
Opening the tube today was like being a kid at Christmas all over again...except with out the disapointment of finding a homemade Cabbage Patch doll inside. The drawings are so super incredible I got a little misty eyed in my excitement. The gallery also sent old post cards from shows from both Marcel Dzama and The Royal Art Lodge...
oh happy day.

in the new (i think it's) Elle magazine there is an ad for Tampax that has a fragrance strip...that's right a FRAGRANCE STRIP! What ad person came up with this concept????
I can't stand the regular parfum strips in magazines as it is.......i have absolutely no desire to smell a tampon.

Once upon a time a girl with a new job and hopes of soon being completely debt free was headed home......
When a 1986 white Ford Crown Victoria driven by Madlyn Gayle Stickler ran a red (very red) light... plowing into the girl (with a new job who hasn't received a paycheck yet) flipping her truck over and totaling it.

Miz Stickler won't return the girl (that loved her truck) phone calls.

Madlyn just might be home since according to the police report 'NONE' is listed under occupation.

all she has received so far is a citation for not having proof of insurance.
do unemployed people driving an '86 Crown Victoria generally have insurance????

I know I was really lucky that i wasn't badly hurt....but damnit this sucks.

went to NYC last week w/ Amy. Mrs. Stacy flew in from Vermont and met us there. Hung out w/ Lauren. Hung out with Scott and reconnected with some old highschool friends.

Amy and Stacy were missing their significant others..and their pets.

I was busy trying to see everything on my (very long) list.

I was missing no one.

It is the most amazing feeling. I am not responsible for anyone but myself these days.
no boy. no pets. no store/no employees.

it feels fabulous.

going to Montreal Labor Day weekend.......all by myself.

white people are boring.

why do white people feel as though they can only use WHITE lights to decorate during the holidays? it's not pretty. it's boring.

why do white people feel like 'party' food has to consist of crackers with two kinds of cheese (orange and not orange), carrots with the obligitory ranch dip, chips and dip, and freakin holiday cookies? i don't know why i'm complaning....i eat it.

freak magnet.

So i'm on the hiking and biking trail when i hear someone come up behind me. The guy says "I feel like i need to apologize for passing by you." I'm like it's a hiking and biking trail open to the public, it's bound to happen!? and then he says "I'm not a freak or anything i'm just out here exercising like you." Holy crap! saying your not a freak just makes you so much more. He said something else that i didn't quite catch- cuz i got the freak out of there.
