Ben and the Dallas Urban Arts Festival
Current mood: artistic
Category: Art and Photography

Apologies to those who may have already gotten my bulletin about this:

I will be doing a LIVE Art thing (session? demonstration?) this weekend at the Dallas Urban Arts Festival. I'm on the Painters' Stage from 2:30-4:00 pm on Saturday. We should have a drum circle set up so we can get a good give-and-take vibe between me and the drummers. Should be a lot of fun!

Here's the festival's full press release, if you want more info:

IT'S LIVE…..IT'S HIP…..IT'S URBAN….IT'S HERE AGAIN!

The Urban Art's Festival is all about the energy, the passion and the raw talent that makes up Urban Art.

This year the UAF is joining forces with a phenomenal group- ArtLoveMagic.

ArtLoveMagic will kick off the festival on Friday night, September 7th, with a live art experience at South Side on Lamar and the Janette Kennedy Gallery, from 8 pm-Midnight. ArtLoveMagic events are celebrations of live creativity. Watch as paintings, jewelry and ceramics come to life. Enjoy live music and poetry all night long. Over 3 dozen of the areas best artists and performers will be on hand and creating live! This is a unique, positive, and creative experience. General admission is only $7.

Map, photos, and more info at www.artlovemagic.com

Then, on Saturday, The Urban Arts Festival takes to the streets of South Side with a huge, FREE, outdoor celebration. Come and experience the best of urban arts with street performers, live painters stages, an art symposium, and interactive experiences created by The Dallas Museum of Art. ArtLoveMagic will run two live art stages and will moderate 4 symposium Q&A panels. Will Ritchey and DaVerse poets take stage at 6pm.

Saturday's full schedule can be seen at www.urbanartsfest.com
