Proof Of Fear
Category: Writing and Poetry
Here lies the proof of fear
And what it can achieve
If allowed to co inhabit ones life
Inevitable one of us will cease
The tap that drips relentlessly
The agonizing hours spent alone
The empty sound of nothingness
the habitual checking of the phone
The ticking that deters sleep
The paranoia that slowly grows
The dark thoughts that gather speed
The yearning end of constant wows
The walls that once were friends
The bed that once meant rest
The unheard peace of ones sanity
The secret thoughts better kept
The distant memory of normality
The ignorance of its worth
The fate that deems us lost
The hapless fight for hope
Here lies the proof of fear
And what it can achieve
If allowed to co inhabit ones life
Inevitable one of us will cease
Wrote sometime ago, I have just found my old note book so thought I would post some of the poems from it thanks for reading.

Modern England (Adults Only)
Category: Writing and Poetry
Join the rat race and get yourself a job
Taking orders from some spotty teenage knob
Who thinks he's better than you coz he speaks proper
With he's poxy name badge the little f**king tosser
Now Listen here matey the wage is really shit
No chance of a pay rise so you'll have to stand for it
Coz this is modern England and this is city life
Where unemployment is not much fun but working is a bag of shite
Not a penny to your name when the weekend comes to go out
All your mates larging it big time, touting it about
Get yourself a smoke try waste the day away
What a f**king joke no lay on's, you've gotta pay
Two more sleepless nights and the dreaded day has come
Little hilter waits with his finger on the trigger of the gun
And yes this is modern England and yes this is city life
Where unemloyment is not much fun but working is a bag of shite.

Survival
Current mood: artistic
Every day is survival in this place
Every hour as trying as the next
Nothing really fits always-missing bits
Every other thought so bloody complex
Every day is survival in this place
Every night brings empty peace
No rest achieved from artificial sleep
No forgiveness given for insincere apologies
Every day is survival in this place
Every cross marked where should be a line
No silent scream will go unheard
Welcome one and all to the depths of my mind

Just a draft at moment thanks for reading.

Addiction
Current mood: calm
Category: Writing and Poetry
Addiction
It's a frightening realization to find you have an addiction
The admission of its presence, the fear that it breeds
A conscious effort needed to achieve sobriety
Frustrated now that your thoughts remain even though
You have stopped the drink
The acknowledgement that to aid your recovery you
Must cease to play the victim
Acceptance of the truth its not the drink that is the
Problem it's the way you think that is the problem
The courage to face unthinkable demons
Patience in slow progress and the forgiveness of
Yourself and all others.
Those mountains to climb become more achievable mounds
The inner voice of childhood courage once again found
Learning the tools of life you needed so badly before
Using those tools to strengthen your spirit and soul
Retaining the person you were always meant to be
Not adhering to the person you thought others expected to see
Loving yourself for who you are never forgetting "I am a addict"
And never far from temptation
The refusal to shy away from any prying conversation as you have
An illness and recovery is cause for a celebration.
Not written about me personally but a subject very close to my heart.
Absolutely no structure what so ever but I love it the way it is. For me the content of poetry is the most important and it says everything I want it to.
Forgive me if there are grammar or spelling errors as I have just typed it straight on to the blog spur of the moment thing.
Once again thanks for reading.

A Lie
Current mood: contemplative
Category: Writing and Poetry
When is a lie not a lie
When it's white you would say
The timing is all wrong
Tomorrow should be a better day
When is a lie not a lie
When you've only bent the truth to suit
Your needs and interpret things
How you would like them to seem
When is a lie not a lie
When I allow myself to be fooled
That this is the only way forward
Instead of insisting we tell them the truth.
Just something I did lunch today hope you enjoy.

I Miss
Category: Writing and Poetry
I Miss
I miss the gentleness of your kiss
The pure warmth of your embrace
That open look you gave me
Guaranteed to put a smile on my face
I miss the midnight chats we shared
About everything and nothing much
You and I against the rest of the world
But most of all I miss being in love
Now it seems we are two strangers
Lost souls sharing the same home
Never thought I could feel so miserable
Lonely but not alone
The distance in your voice
Is clearer then ever before
The warmth of your embrace
Is something I can only long for
I awake to find an empty pillow
Every night I yearn your touch
Each day passes my heart fades
With it the pain of loving you so much
I miss the gentleness of your kiss
The pure warmth of your embrace
That open look you gave me
Guaranteed to put a smile on my face
I miss the midnight chats we shared
About everything and nothing much
You and I against the rest of the world
But most of all I miss being in love

What of us
What of us
We've had our ups and downs
Such laughter such tears
We've stood the test of time
Together faced our greatest fears
But what of us now
When all is said and done
When the laughter subsides
What of us, what have we become
Just good friends
No more lovers, no more lust
Just good friends
This is what has become of us
We've seen such changes
We've lived such rich lives
Our home filled with endless love
But all too cold are our nights
So what of us now
When all is said and done
When the children have all grown
What of us, what have we become
Just good friends
No more bedlam, no more rush
Just good friends
This is what has become of us
Our memories slowly fading
Our eyes not what they used to be
Gravity has played its best hand
But you still look lovely to me
So what of us now
When all is said and done
When the mortgage is all but paid
What of us, what have we become
The best of friends
A life time shared, an unbreakable trust
The best of friends
This is what has become of us
By Sarah
It may need a little tidying up as I wrote it straight on to my blog. I watched something on TV the other night and it gave me food for thought this peice is the result.
Thanks for reading

Fear
A caged bird will never sing how you would like
A sheltered flower will not grow without light
A blunt knife will not cut the meat as you wish
A fearful child will not learn true love and happiness

To Want
Current mood: creative
Category: Writing and Poetry
To Want
To scramble to the top only to find
The middle was more your kind of place
To seek such wealth only to learn
You had all you need on a poor mans wage
The grass, which seemed much greener
Only now mows the same
But the love that once was yours
Now no longer calls your name

Poem
Current mood: creative
Category: Writing and Poetry
Today I came across my old jot book and the first poem I ever wrote. For those who have already heard it I apologise but its one of those poems that really means something to me and I just really wanted to post it.
The Path
I have walk this path, too many times to say
but as I walk this path it looks so different today
I do not hurry by with weary eyes upon the floor
I take each step at a time, contemplating the one before
an air of beauty in the summer breeze
touches my heart and my soul it seems to ease
my steps it seems I no longer need to retrace
nor hurry by at such a pace
but just to stop, stand and stare
to appreciate the beauty and all that is there.
By Sarah

Thanks for taking the time to read it. x
