DARKANE - Demonic Art - Artwork Revealed + Song Sample!

 DARKANE - DEMONIC ART - ARTWORK REVEALED!
The cover artwork for Demonic Art, the new album from Swedish thrashers DARKANE, can be viewed below. Due in Europe on October 24 via via Nuclear Blast Records (North American Release Date: TBA).
According to the band, "12 songs ended up on the final version, with about 48 minutes of pure aggressive, brutal, melodic, modern, technical, furious, fast, heavy and insane thrash metal! We are very proud of this album and we know for sure that if you liked what we've done before you won't be disappointed in any way this time either. DARKANE has developed in a way that hopefully will give us new fans as well, not meaning that we've turned softer or more mainstream... just better! ...and more humble."

HACKNEYED Death Prevails North American Release Approaches

 HACKNEYED - DEATH PREVAILS - NORTH AMERICAN RELEASE DATE APPROACHES
Death Prevails, the full-length debut from south German death metal maniacs HACKNEYED which was produced by Roger Grüninger and mastered by Achim Köhler was released on July 25 (Europe) and will be released on September 2 (North America) via Nuclear Blast Records.

According to a press release, "These five youngsters are just as convincing as MORBID ANGEL must have been when they released their first album back in the day! Not only is the band already a bright star in the sky of extreme metal but is also the youngest band Nuclear Blast has signed ever since. HACKNEYED are also probably the youngest death metal act on the planet as the average age of the band members is just 16 years (guitarist Devin being just 14 years old!), but already shredding and grooving as hell — mark these words!
"Being founded in early 2007 the band has already achieved to play an amount of successful shows as well as draw attention from several bigger bands and also of Achim Ostertag (organizer of Germany's Summer Breeze Festival) who presented the band to the deeply impressed Nuclear Blast staff that signed them right away!"

ALL SHALL PERISH have managed to rejuvenate the underground by encompassing more of extreme metal's tangents and now, on Awaken The Dreamers (CD+DVD) more than ever, they're throwing the "deathcore" term out the window and reestablishing the definition of the word heavy with a youthful and vigorous aplomb.

Tasmanian tech-death masters PSYCROPTIC have uploaded a brand new track, "Immortal Army of One," to their MySpace page.

The song comes off the group's fourth album, Ob(Servant) - (CD+DVD), which is scheduled for release in Europe on September 26 and in North America on October 14 via Nuclear Blast Records.

Ob(Servant) - (CD+DVD) was mixed and mastered by former MACHINE HEAD and SOULFLY guitarist Logan Mader (DIVINE HERESY, GOJIRA) and was recorded once again by guitarist Joe Haley. The album will include a free bonus DVD featuring a studio diary as well as performance footage from a 2006 gig in Amsterdam, Netherlands and 2008 concert in Wellington, New Zealand. The free bonus DVD will run approximately 85 minutes.
Commented drummer Dave Haley:
"'Immortal Army of One' is one of my personal favorites on 'Ob(servant)'. The riffs on it are catchy as hell and stick in your head, and it is a very brutal song. Yet, it has a lot of dynamics throughout and is quite technical. It's very PSYCROPTIC-sounding, yet there are a lot of new sounds and ideas introduced. Just an all-around cool track both to listen to and play. Lyrically, the song explores the the idea of a suicidal god like being — one who has omnipotence yet wants to relinquish it. A twisted thought — a being who has the choice to do anything desired, except giving up such a power; all-powerful yet powerless at the same time."
