I’ve broken top 40 worldwide!

Hello Everyone, well it's a good day here at myspace as I find myself 29 worldwide on the myspace indie swing charts... I've also broken the top 100 in indie lounge worldwide landing at 79 .... and if that's not enough I continue to be 1 in Canada in both charts!! "thank you... thank you very much!" [elvis voice]... lol... seriously, thanks to everyone who dropped by to listen to my new original offering... yesterday saw a lot of listeners visit mypage which is why i went up up up the charts!! Now, if there's anything I can do in return... just name it....

Something Original...

Hey everyone, well... as i continue to push hard on these cover songs to find out which ones I should put on my next CD, I've neglected to promote my original project "NumberOneWorld"... so with that in mind, I've posted a track from my 2005 CD "One Time" called "You Shine"... it's a song about finding hope in others when life is getting you down... if your interested in buying the CD or hearing samples of the other tunes on it click here... it's also being re-released on a compilation appropriately titledc "Flame" due out later this year.... so... So what’s been happening lately?
Current mood: busy

Hello everyone! I hope, for those north of the equator, your first day of summer is turning out to be a good one and for those south of the equatorial line "Happy Winter"! Here, where I am in Ontario Canada, we've been having a lot of rain, but nothing compared to some places in the world and my heart goes out to those battling with floods and all the heartache that accompany them. I count my lucky stars on a daily basis that I'm high and dry!

Things have been busy for me as I become more climitized to being back in Canada. I've become more involved in a number of organizations and causes, all the while balancing a new band, recording a new record and booking a summer tour around Ontario. My "other" businesses continue to grow as well and I've just relaunched one of my favourite publications after a 7 year hiatus; The Wire. It will soon be online for those interested in the "alternative" perspective.

So enough about me, how are you? Drop me a note in this blog and let me know how things are going. And while you're typing away, have a listen to my new music offering; Roy Orbison's "Crying". One of my all time favourite torch songs. My apologies to anyone who was featuring my Elvis rendition on their page, as I had to remove it to make room for Roy! Hallelujah, Something New to Listen To!

Hello All! I hope this message finds everyone happy and successful! Things have been pretty crazy since returning from Australia two months ago and I've had so little time to spend here at myspace I find myself doing the bare minimum accepting comments and friend requests, with little time to respond, and for that I apologize. I hope you all know how much I've appreciated your support and interest over the last year and i feel bad i can't spend more time letting you know just that.. sigh... that said, i always try to logon to wish you a happy birthday when your day comes around, and for anyone I've missed, again, I'm sorry...

Ok humble apologies aside, I'll be posting the summer tour dates in Ontario Canada  on my page soon for all those fellow Canucks who might have a chance to come to a show. The last month,  I've been in the studio with the new band, working on the new record and I'm very excited about how its coming...

Until the new tracks are available, I 'll continue to post some songs from the back catalog, Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" being one of them. When I heard KD Lang belt this out years ago, I had to record my own rendition.. I hope you enjoy it.

Thanks again to everyone subscribing to myblog... you now number close to 600! And as I'm just a few shy of 5000 friends and 45,000 visits, I'm still "ablush" at the thought that so many would care... BTW, I've found myself in the last couple of days, on sale here at myspace... feel free to start a bidding war!! haha

A New Track from the Vaults

Hello Everyone,  I hope all is well in "yourspace"... Just a quick note to let you know i’ve posted a "new" tune on my page. Something i recorded years ago and thought i’d share; Lou Rawls’ "You’ll Never Find". Though I didn’t find the bass Lou projects, I’ve always had fun singing this one and blasting out a couple of "long" notes. The Eagle has Landed

Well, its been a few days now since I touched down in Toronto Canada and I’ve been treated to welcoming smiles, warm embraces and of course, snow and ice! Having left 30 degree weather and my shorts behind, Canada welcomed me home with one of the biggest snow storms of the year... my "extreme winter vacation" had begun. As I emailed my Aussie friends pictures of  3 meter snowbanks, they replied with "you went back why?" I tried to convince them that people pay big money to frolic in the snow... not sure they bought it.. haha.. all said, I’m excited to be back in Canada and look forward to returning to the studio and putting a new band together. Players have already been assembled and agents are currently setting up the summer tour of Ontario. And with a myspace change of location, I’ve already topped the Canadian swing charts,   sitting currently at Number 1!

So to all my friends here in Ontario, I hope to see you at one of my shows this summer... for all my friends in Australia, I want to thank you for all your support and look forward to returning soon (there’s already talk of some dates in December)... for all my friends around the world, I hope this year continues to bring me opportunity to tour and grow my career, perhaps landing close to your home town...

My Last Few Days In Australia

Well, the time has come and a with a bitter sweet smile, i turn and wave goodbye to all the friends I've made here in Australia over the past year. It has been a whirlwind adventure, probably the "shortest" year I've ever enjoyed and I leave this island with fond memories of places I've visited, swam, surfed, dined, slept, climbed, snorkeled and sang. I want to thank everyone who came out to my shows, while I toured about. It was great to see and meet some of "myfriends" from Australia. I certainly enjoyed topping the Australian lounge and swing charts here at myspace over the last 6 months and hope I can only achieve the same when i hit the Canadian shores. So as a hot northernly breeze blows, it will only be a few days and I'll be in the land of snow and ice! brrrr... what am i thinking? lol... Actually I look forward to returning to Canada for the spring and summer, touring and visiting friends and family. And by the time the cold moves in, I'll be packing my bags again for next winter in Mexico!! Here's to never shoveling snow again! haha... I'm spoiled now...

Happy Valentines

New Upload "I Love The Night"

Hello everyone! I've uploaded a "new" original track on my NumberOneWorld page here at myspace. Its actually an old song from my "Love Out Loud" CD release back in 2002. With all the success my "crooning" has had of late, the good folks at AroundRecords have decided to issue a re-release, of my more sultry original material recorded over the years, in an upcoming CD "Flame" which will be available online within the next few months (we're just finalizing all the artwork). I have to admit, my original career has taken a bit of a "back seat" as I work on this new record of cover songs and jazz standards, but for all those who enjoy NumberOneWorld, rest assured, I've been writing new material and hope to have a least a few new singles online for download this year.
